I finally got my KPE installed in my system and I have a couple of doubts and information. Please give your opinions on those if you have any experience about them.

1- Is it possible to turn the check leds off? (the ones just above the power connectors)
2- My voltage slider does nothing just like the other guy who posted a thread about that, I found out also that on nvidia inspector the voltage slider is grayed out and not selectable, I tried K boost on and off, I tried different BIOSes and nothing seems to matter, I am stuck at 1.031 max, also on the PXOC settings menu the overvoltage and overboost button are not selectable either, is all of that as intended?
3- The stock aircooler at 100% fan speed is quite annoying although it helps keeping temperatures under control.
4- I installed the Hydrocopper block it is very easy to do but one thing, the leds plugs, they are way way and I mean way too short (shorter than the ones on the stock cooler btw) and that makes it a nightmare to plug. I managed to do it after a while but I have only the led on the top and on the logo lighting up, nothing else is that how it should be or one of the connectors is not plugged in correctly thus the other zones are not lighting up?
5- My max oc probably due to the voltage not going any higher is 2088/13000 at ~32C on all sensors, I am pretty sure if I could use a bit more voltage the gpu could go higher but I cannot confirm just yet.
6- The coil whine is again way way way too loud and a nonstop buzzer at load, I don't know if I am unlucky or other cards are like that, I know it is a common issue but mine is close to umberable, without headsets it makes gaming unpleasant.
7- The design and the board itself are unbelievable awesome just gorgeous.

Hey there, thanks for helping out.

I tested on normal and OC, but afaik none of the BIOS changes the voltage control, or does it?
You mean the tiny switches on the back under the block? I haven't touched them they are as they came from the factory, how should they be set to?

    1. No.
    2. You need to use the classified tool to tweak the voltages on the card. You can find the classified tool here.
    6. Coil whine is harmless... https://www.evga.com/support/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=59535

    Fixes for coil whine...

#1 Put glue on the noisy coils. Only works if coils are exposed. Will void warranty if done.
#2 Run ati tool overnight to burn the card in. Click show 3d view to start ati render test.
#3 Increase/decrease voltage on the card.
#4 Use frame rate limiter software to limit fps in game to reduce whine.
    #5 Try a different psu.
    #6 Try a different motherboard.
    #7 RMA the card.

Likewise in the other thread--I *had* a lot of coil noise/load buzz on my 1080 TI Kingpin.  But after a week of running games/benches the noise had subsided significantly.  Just run it hard for a week or so and see how it does for noise.

    Thanks for joining in...
1- Electrical tape to the recue lol
2- I switched the onboard switches to on it is on 1.1 now, I will further test the oc I have the software here from the 980 kpe... I will try to use it
6- harmless to the gpu I know... but to my ears and gaming experience it is definitely not... Thanks for the heads up on the coil wine possibler fixes I will try the burn in since the other I am sure are not causing it because my 980 in sli were just fine... and if it doesn't work I will give it 90 days and think about it...

    Cheers

Hey guys, I am reporting back...
I could up the voltage to 1.1 via the onboard switches next to the lads conectors... Software voltage control from either pxoc, classified or inspector are still not working... The only Software reporting 1.1v is EVGA pxoc, GPUZ still shows 1.031 and the OSD from pxoc and Riva also report 1.031.
That increase in voltage still can't get me stable at 2100 gpu even though temps are not an issue, so I would love to try more voltage but I am not doing any hard mods to my card so I want to get the software option working anyhow. Also I didn't touch the droop switches could that help me getting my 2100 core?

About the hydro copper installation since I had to redo everything to access the voltage switches (this could change for next versions because it should not require disassembling and reassembling the card to do that, just reposition to the back of the card and make a cutout on backplate) I ended up removing the front metal cover from the block to get the full length of the cable to plug it to the connector, I then installed the block and then reroute the cables and at last reattached the metal cover to the block.... way way way easier but it shouldn't be required (I am thinking about a contact plate solution for this would be much fancier for a fancy card).

The coil wine is still very present and I am trying pushing the card as far and as long as I can to see if the burning reduces it... I can't barely notice any difference yet provided I am with it for one day only.

If someone could tag an EVGA member so they can have a look at the issues and suggestions, I appreciate it since I don't know how to do it.

    Cheers

I have no problems changing the voltages on my kingpin. Forget what gpu-z is reading. The voltages listed as vgpu, vmem & vpll are what you should be looking at inside precision.

Yeah I know the thing is even PXOC OSD doesn't show the same value as inside itself, very weird...
Would you mind PMing me so we can discus about the voltage control... Cheers

I am very interested to see what you found out. I had a Kingpin Card and ended up RMA'ing it after it stopped boosting. Are you getting better results with the vDroop switchs on? Please let me know. I may try and by another one. Newegg just refunded me because they were out of stock.
