Looks great! Your lighting puts mine to shame.

Though, I did make another major change today. I was finding my GPU temps reaching upwards of 80 degrees in Metro Exodus, which was frustrating me as my core clock and FPS were dropping because of it. Rather than trying to keep making my fan curves more aggressive or try turning my OC down, I did some reading and confirmed my suspicion that the NZXT H500 (with front mounted radiator and 2 exhaust fans) is not ideal for keeping GPU temps in check. There simply isn't enough air flow in that tight case for a card like the 2080 ti.

However, I love the look of the case and wanted to keep a similar appearance. So today I made yet another trip to Microcenter (they practically know my name at this point) and picked up an H700i. The roomier case allows me to mount my radiator on the top with air pulling up through it and out of the case. It also fits a 140mm exhaust fan in the back and three 120mm intake fans in the front. A few hours of testing and I'm VERY happy with the results. I was hoping it would drop my GPU temps down into the mid 60's to low 70's but I'm finding that even after over an hour of Metro Exodus my GPU temps never exceed 64 Celsius and my core clock never drops below 2055.

This is a difference of over 15 Celsius! I cant believe how much that H500 was choking the GPU's breath-ability.

I'm sticking with the stock non-RGB fans for now until I figure out what I want my lighting to look like. The built in magnet RGB strips will have to suffice for now.

Mine is appearance over performance lol

But yeah, the case makes a huge difference.
I chose the meshify c for that exact reason.
The h500 looks amazing but not good air flow.

I have thermaltake high static pressure fans coming in tomorrow, im gonna do a A/B comparison to see how good/bad the stock kraken fans are.

I want the Lian Li PC 011 Dynamic, I think it looks really good and performs well too.
Did that case cross your mind at all?
Its sold out at my microcenter.

But I am glad its working out for you though
The case looks really nice!
Just need some nice lighting and you're all set

Yes, please let me know how those ThermalTake fans perform compared to the stock Krakens. That will help give me an idea on which direction to go.

I looked at the Lian Li PC 011. They had one on display. I like the look of that case but the sales guy mentioned he had it and while he loved it, it ended up costing a fortune on fans to fill it up properly.

Could this be one of the reasons your graphics card was working so hard??

It's possible. Metro Exodus has been pushing the GPU very hard. Since switching cases the GPU handles BF5 on Ultra settings without breaking a sweat, at a max temp of 60 Celsius. But Metro Exodus still pushes it into the mid-60s. I've seen it get as high as 69 Celsius.

Which is still perfectly fine but I'm surprised it's making the 2080 ti work that hard. I'll let Metro Exodus update and give it a try a little later after I finish up some work.

I'm also on the fence about a 2080 FTW3 or a 2080 ti XC... most things indicate that the 2080 FTW3 would be enough in pretty much any game... if a game is not performing well it's most likely the fault of the game and not the card...

I got the 34" Alienware Ultrawide 1440p monitor with OC 120hz refresh rate so that card would essentially max out the 120hz refresh rate of the monitor, anything above that doesn't have any real benefit.

On the other hand... getting the Ti just future proofs more. It's a $400 jump in price, though. Not sure if I can justify that.

I keep going back and forth on this, need help, lol

for the record, my build is
9600k i5
16 gb ddr4 3200

IMHO I really think you need a Ti for your resolution.
