nick1551 Did you ge the card from the evga b-stock? Yes, I did. I knew there might be some issues, but I expected to receive the product advertised. nick1551 What are your stock clocks as reported by gpu-z right now? GPU - 675Mhz Shader - 1350Mhz Memory - 900Mhz I can use Precision to bump the CPU and Shader clocks to the speeds advertised for the FPB, but not the memory clock (it doesn't go that far) nor can I change the fan speed past 40%-70%. Mostly I'm just pissed that the problem the original card had was that the BIOS version was incorrect- and the card I received has the same issue. To top it off, the stickers used to close the box it came in say 'Inspected for Quality', Roger

I picked up a 450 from b-stock and it's actually giving me less problems than the -TR, I got from the egg. lol But Ya, the one listed in the b-stock is the FPB Gtx460, so it should have the fpb bios on it already. So if they replaced it once for this issue, they will most likely pay for the shipping both ways, if you tell them what is going on. And ask for that simple convenience. They did it for me when I had to rma my 450 after 2 days. I just asked nicely. ps. I wish my 450's had an ulocked fan, 70% wt.f :(

I'm having the same problem with a GTX 460 FPB 768-P3-1360-RX I got from B Stock. It has the stock clock and shader speeds and I'm unable to run the FPB bios update. I get "no display adapters were found that are compatible with this update". I can run the FPB speeds fine with Percision Tool but like rsiggs said I didn't get what was advertised and I can't update it either.

OK so what's the solution? I spoke to EVGA and they said to send it back. I really don't want to go through the hassle of doing that. I would rather wait for a bios flash that works.

if the flash works on 99% of the cards and not yours im doubtful any flash would work,so your going to want to do as instructed and send it in.This Bios flash has worked for all but you two people since its release.Either its your method or the card .If its not your method getting a Bios other then listed is not going to do you any good either. EVGA wants me to send the 2nd card back RMA, so now I'll be down another week waiting for them to send me a card, and let's see if the third time is the charm. UPDATE - EVGA is cross-shipping me a 'verified' replacement card. Here's hoping it's the 3rd time that makes it work.

I've flashed cards before with no issue. This isn't my first EVGA card. Just for the hell of it I tried it in 2 other PC's with the same result.

Rather than just running the update, open up a cmd prompt first, navigate to the location you've got the file at and run it that way- the cmd window will stay open and you can see any error messages or diagnostic info provided. Check using Precision- you should be able to change your fan speed anywhere from 30%-100% (as opposed to 40%-70% if the update is not applied).

Probably a stupid question. I just ordered a 01G-P3-1371-AR from newegg. It is listed on the store page as 720/1440. Should I assume that this update has already been applied to the card?

I got them to cross-ship my latest replacement. If it works, then I'd say it's probably the only real option. If it doesn't, I'm getting a refund and will go with another company. It sounds as though there's a whole back of b-stock cards with the wrong BIOS- not sure why QA hasn't looked at them before sending them out though. Roger

EVGA_JacobF Here it is, the EVGA 460 FPB Update, changelist as follows:
- New in version 1.3 - Improved compatibility.
- New in version 1.3 - Various bug fixes.
- Fanspeed unlocked to allow up to 30-100% adjustments.
- Core/Processor clock increased to 720/1440 (Part numbers 768-P3-1360-XX and 01G-P3-1371-XX Only)
Installation
- Download the correct .zip file below for your graphics card:
v1.3 768-P3-1360-XX - EVGA GeForce GTX 460 v1.3 768-P3-1362-XX - EVGA GeForce GTX 460 SuperClocked v1.1 01G-P3-1365-XX - EVGA GeForce GTX 460 v1.3 01G-P3-1370-XX - EVGA GeForce GTX 460 1024MB v1.3 01G-P3-1371-XX - EVGA GeForce GTX 460 1024MB EE (External Exhaust) v1.3 01G-P3-1372-XX - EVGA GeForce GTX 460 1024MB SuperClocked v1.3 01G-P3-1373-XX - EVGA GeForce GTX 460 1024MB SuperClocked EE (External Exhaust)
- Extract the files to a location on disk.
- Make sure no programs are running in the background, and double click update.exe.
- Press "Y" to begin the update.
- DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR RESET DURING THE FLASH PROCESS!
- After update, restart PC.
- Reinstall the latest NVIDIA graphics drivers after bootup.
********************************* Velion 01G-P3-1373-XX 1GB SC EE update didnt work for me, on my brand new card with latest drivers installed. Do not turn off the computer or attempt to reboot your computer while the NVIDIA firmware is being updated. If the computer is turned off, or power is lost, you may be unable to restart your computer. Searching for display adapters to update... No display adapters were found that are compatible with this update. ******************************* I seem to have the same problem. Received my 768-P3-1360-RX on Monday and the update is giving me the same no compatible adapters found. And Everest doesn't see the card either. Aside from that, the card is working just fine. If I hook the fan directly to my fan controller, will it affect the warranty?

On hold with Customer Service now. The replacement card I got shipped doesn't even work. So that one is getting shipped back instead of the working (but wrong BIOS'd) card I currently have. Escalated to a higher tier- Apparently the BIOS all the RX cards have on them is the nvidia BIOS, not the EVGA version. I'm supposed to get an email with an updater (which I asked for several weeks ago now...). We'll see how that turns out.
