Why? The fans can already be set to 100%.
The 104 GPU's must be really good if EVGA is confident they can all run at these overclocks. My Vanilla 480 can't go above 745 with stock volts and 780 with 1088 mV.

woah thats not a very good clocking 480, mine does 900mhz on the core at 1.1v and with more testing I think 950mhz is really what I think it will do.

Voltage for Overclocks vary for every card.Finding the stable overclock and voltage needed for it are something each person must do themselves if they want such a overclock. Some cards can overclock to some speeds while others may not .
Here is a basic guide covering GPU overclocking

Nice that everybody can find a bios update tool here on evga. Thanks. What makes this update on a evga gtx460 1024 MB? It seems nothing. Does it make a update anyway if i have the same one on the card?

The video says all 460s get the performance bump but there is no zip file listed for my brand-new pair of GTX460 SE w/1024MB (01G-P3-1366-TR).  Am I out of luck?

Yes you are.

The GTX460 SE is a scaled down version of the other 460s with lesser cores.

just tried 1370 link with Firefox and IE both worked fine.I suggest its your settings that need to be addressed not the link itself.

Hi everyone- first time posting.

1- Jacob- thanks for you assistance. I know getting emails out of the blue can be annoying. I appreciate the help so far.

2- Question for all of you: Should I RMA the new card I just got? It's a B-Stock GTX460 that was supposed to have the FPB applied. When I got it, it turns out it has the wrong BIOS. The card works fine otherwise, I just can't apply the FPB apparently. Jacob suggested an RMA, and got it going for me, but I don't want my machine to be down for a huge amount of time (I made the mistake of reading the RMA horror stories in the other topic forums here).

Thoughts?

for every one horror story your reading there are 100's that never get posted as positive .Keep that in mind and RMA the card.

Ive done 3 over the last 3+ years and all went smooth and i was happy with every result .If you want it back faster get it to EVGA faster.2-3 days turn around once it gets to EVGA and (depending on your location)2-3 days back to you.Your looking at about 7 business days(weekends do not count as they are closed) + your shipping time to them .Any time you can shave off will benefit you in a speedy return of your product.

I've been getting pretty crap performance from my newly purchased GTX 460 SC so I thought I would try this.  Downloaded the file, clicked update and the cmd window opens and flashed a message "No display adapter found that is compatible with this update"

Awesome :)

Need something for the gtx460 se to unlock the fan.  running it at 950mhz and she's a bit hot for my liking (only 62-64c) but I would like the extra head room.

Well, I RMA'd the card, and just got it back today...

...and it's the same BIOS revision and 'no display adapters were found that are compatible with this update' problem. Needless to say, I'm underwhelmed so far.

Jacob- is there any way to get a BIOS update that I can apply here, without having to spend another $20 to send the card back *again* to update this 768-P3-1360-RX from BIOS ver 70.04.0B.00.01 to whatever the current, updated BIOS version is?
