Re:Free Performance Boost (FPB) for GTX 460 - v1.3 (Jan 3, 2011) 2011/01/31 13:55:57 (permalink)
Hello,
The 1.3 update refuses to install for me. My P/N is 01G-P3-1373-AR so I downloaded 1373_fpb_1.3.zip. I get the error regarding no matching adapters and my BIOS is still at 70.04.13.00.76. I tried running the update with and without drivers installed (266.58).

I really want to try this new BIOS because I have an issue where I must cold-boot my PC every week or so to clear graphical corruption. Here's a thread on nVidia's forum about the issue: http://forums.nvidia.com/.dex.php?showtopic=180519

TIA

Hi everybody
(i'm french, so xcuse my wrong english)
I have downloaded FPB for my 460 SC EE 1GB, flashed with utilitary, completed successfull. I reboot my computer, but NO DISPLAY! (i'm sure i downloaded the right file)
Fortunately, i have an old GeForce 7200 (yeah, lol)
i put her on the 2dary pci xpress of my P55 FTW, and reflashed my 460 (incredible!^^)
In GPU-Z, the gpu is unchanged, 763Mhz... and RAM to 1900 (factory OC) so, why the fpb doesn't work for me?
i'm on xp sp3, lastest drivers installed (266.xx).
Somebody can tell me i forget something?
thanks, god bless eVga.

Is there a release of this scheduled for the 01G-P3-1366-TR card? Could I run the 460 base version...or is that just going to screw my card up even more?

Thanks!

New cards have not been added for quite some time (or ever im not sure 100%),its doubtful IMO.Not to mention Focus has been moved to the newer 500 Series cards.

It seems unlikely, but will there ever be support for the 01G-P3-1366-TR (GTX 460 SE) version of this GPU?

If you guys eventually get around adding an update for the following P/N, it'd be great:
01G-P3-1366-TR

Thanks!

If I have a 01G-P3-1373-AR that was purchased on 1/25/11, does that mean this update is included in it or do I need to install it on my own? Since my card is already overclocked to 763, will this raise my clocked even higher? Also, what does this do in terms of the warranty supplied by eVGA?

GTX460 SE uses a completely different BIOS from the GTX460. It also has different number of CUDA core with different clock speeds. I would go as far to say its a completely different card and it shouldn't even be associated with the 460, should have been called a GTX 455.

irrelevant. that is evgas problem that they put it under the 460 name. what they should be doing is having their programmers take care of it for the customers who bought their product. since evga apparently doesnt care about its customers, i dont care about evga. ill be returning this 460se and buying a radeon 6870 or 6950.

Thanks for stopping by to show your total lack of understanding of the issue. With a attitude like that and the rush to judgment based on information you do not understand i wish you good luck in life your going to need it .Sounds like more of a anti Nvidia flame then anything after your AMD threat.Good luck

EVGA had no say in what they name a video card as Nvidia dictated that card to be GTX 460 SE, even though its a completely trimmed 460 card.

Caring about customer is all EVGA does considering other companies dont even offer a BIOS upgrade for the video cards.

Either way, looks like you made your decision before you even posted here. Have fun with a Radeon, not like I care what you do with your money. You aren't hurting anyone's pockets.

Just received my second 1371 to go SLI. It is identical to the one I have installed, EXCEPT the one installed has a bios of, 70.04.13.00.74 , and the new one is, 70.04.2E.00.70 Is this a problem? Should I just go ahead and flash them both? The one installed was purchased about 5 months ago, and did not require the FPB. Thankz, 58 year old SLI noob
