If anyone has any thoughts on this, please let me know so I could pass it on to troy as the team. My view on it is that #2 would benefit us more, as we do not have very much underproduction on our team. However, this may not be as fair to other teams who are struggling with production.
 
I think option 2 also has the benefit of getting the big overproducers to keep their rigs running as they will probably be allocated most of the bonus points. If you have any other thoughts, please let me know.
 
On an unrelated note, we are down to 5th again. It looks like a lot of people had a slow day on our team. I am one of the underproducers on our team, but I have some new hardware inbound. I thought it would have been here by now, which is why my estimate is about 10k above my average. I will catch it up as soon as it gets in.

I was thinking, what would you guys think of something like voting on a team MVP? It might encourage people to fold more and be more active in encouraging others to fold more as well if they are also competing for an MVP title (that may not be based on points alone per say)

My choice would be both reallocate and distribute more - but a maximum of %10 to be added to your "allowance" as we all had the option to put accurate numbers down before we started

I am not sure if anything is going to end up happening with point changes. There has been a lot of talk about just leaving the points formula the same this year, as that is what we signed up for. I mostly agree with that, but I don't really see the harm of allowing a balanced strategic spread of over production (option #2). It gives captains strategic control over the team and requires communication to figure out the best balance. It means teamwork can help you win, and I like that.
 
Anyways, I know most of you probably read all of the threads, but I will keep this one updated as to the points changes for the team and how they may effect us.

@z999z3mystorys (geez that is a tough one to type), interesting idea, but I'm not exactly sure what kind of criteria we would be voting on. 

 
I agree with Teyko5 on this one. I have no problem with an MVP (or MVF [Most Valuable Folder]) but we certainly need some sort of criteria. If we wanted to encourage over production, we could take what is being talked about in the main forum, and give an award (a special sig, or some sort of other item) to the person who has overproduced the most in percentage on our team. If you have a suggestion for another criteria or reward, I am open for suggestions.

Yeah I say we let the contest proceed with the original established rules. Everyone agreed to these when they signed up, so changing them midway would probably cause more trouble than it would be worth. However, adding more/different goals on top of "Most Contest Points" sounds fine to me.

I got access (and permission) to fold on another system with a GTX 470. So I should start pushing out a bit more PPD here soon

I'm right around my estimated PPD. As soon as my PSU shows up I can get a Hex core X58 rig with a 650ti and a GTS 450 running if needed.

I'll have to make sure to tamper with FoldCo's coffee in the morning...

Motor oil is like creamer to me. You'll have to come up with something a lot more toxic than that to bother me. One of my old nick names is iron gut. True story; got drunk, got sick, then went to McDonald's and devoured a Big Mac, Double Quarter Pound with Cheese, large fries and a large diet coke.

Just using it to illustrate motor oil isn't going to work. That's all.

These folding server outages make for another twist in the contest. I seem to be grabbing wu's without issue. Everyone else doing okay?
