It's too much lol. 40-62% higher price on 5090/4090 and 5080/4080S is nuts. I paid $1599 for a 4090. They want to just add $1K. Madness.

There are people willing to stand in queue to buy ... just to say they have the "latest & greatest toy"

To the average gamer will it really matter?

I'd wait for 3rd party reviews on actual performance & to see if the power connection issue has truly been resolved

on the flip side looks like the value of the last generation of cards should not just fall off a cliff in price

Yeah. I plan to wait until after the first few months to pick one up. Gotta see if the plugs are going to meltdown.

Looking like my 4090 will be my last top tier GPU with a 5090 costing $2600.  I'm just not going to spend that much on a GPU.  Not only that, but the games I play and at the FPS I typically run, (single player @ ~ 80 - 90 FPS) my 4090 doesn't get used to it's full ability as it is.

Pricing of RTX 5090 laptops will likely exceed $10,000

If the 5090 turns out to be 2600 it will be my last gpu. My 4090 does everything well aside from ray tracing which I don't use.

If this is the case ill just settle buying a new gen AMD graphics card from my 6800XT. No way will I let my wallet get steam rolled by nVidia like that.

As long as your popular enough, you can get away with anything.
