Optimus says instructions for Thermal pad placement are wrong for 3080,3080ti,3090ti FTW3

I managed to purchase Optimus waterblock for RTX 3080, RTX 3080TI, RTX3090 FTW3. When installing i noticed they did not include enough thermal pads according to their instruction sheet. I was lucky enough to have some leftover pads from previous build to get up and running. I had perfect contact with all pads temps are great. Contacted Optimus so  they could send me the missing pads and they are saying instructions are wrong and no pads are needed in circled location. Looking for advice on what is correct pad placement. Really shocked they did not see the need to update their instructions if these pads are not needed and i am worried buy using pads according to their instructions its going to cause a problem

    NO, not going to cause an issue ... the fact that you added them over the inductor coils, as long as GPU die contact is good
     
    the pads should be used IMO as EVGA had thermal putty in that location (see coil whine below)

    Always follow the instructions / design of the GPU's OEM when it comes to cooling & thermal transfer materials placement
     
        - there is a reason they are there, even if it is just to help control noise (coil whine)

    I'd love to read the Optimus's logic on that call & also see the data that backs it up; especially coil whine issues

     
    Just because you can run without them (after your warranty is up) ..... does not mean you should run without them
     
    Most run water block to have a cooler & quieter Rig ..... you would be more likely to hear coil whine without the cooling fans or that thermal material on the gpu

    Thank you for the information and your opinion. i am just blown away at their logic. Every waterblock instructions (FTW3) i have seen show pads on the inductor's. Cant believe they would rather say the instructions are wrong and have not been updated in a year plus over $5 of material on a block that retails at $350. Thank you again glad this was for my personal build not friends or family.

    The instructions on their own page say to put pads there lol:

    I have lost faith their in their brand. Will be one and only purchase from Optimus for me. Quality customer service is becoming i thing of the past. But the good news is they saved $5
