I am surprised that it is being discussed multiple places, but not here.  This place truly is dead, huh?

EVGA's failure to control their power supply product design bites them again.

"If you think youre having a bad day...."
This guy lost 22TB of data because his replacement power supply from evga had a different pinout to the old one. He reused the old modular cables and it murdered all his hard drives when he hooked everything up and powered on
...
To expand on this, the replacement PSU was the same model, and EVGA's own guidance on warranty returns tells the customer to keep and reuse the cables, as they will not return sent in cables with the replacement PSU.

Why would EVGA change pinout on the SAME MODEL (albeit revised, but then why keep the same model name)???? This makes no sense at all, and is straight up asking for something like this to happen.

Even more surprising is EVGA refusing to reimburse for the drives, despite apparently acknowledging they did not send him the correct cables for the revised pinout. This sounds like it's totally on EVGA. My guess this is EVGA in EU rather than USA, but still disappointing. On aside note, that model GPU is about 9 years old I believe.

Would love to hear EVGA's side of this.

EVGA CEO continues to ruin his company reputation. First he stuck it to Z790 motherboard owners with no BIOS update to support Intel 14th Gen CPU's like other mfgs have already done. Now he refuses to own up to a mistake made by his company that caused customer to fry his storage drives containing 22TB of data.

I get the impression he simply doesn't give a cr@p.

Why didn't EVGA post a response to it on here? We had to hear about it from EVGA #1 shill Gamer Nexus.

How many times have we seen EVGA use the same cop out. RMA techs for years have tried to deny warranty claims only for management to cave if the customer causes big enough stink about it.

EVGA RMA department is known for denying warranty claims over minor scratch on PSU or GPU, while at the same time they tell customers RMA replacement they might receive could have a few scratches on it.

Example below of EVGA RMA nit picking to avoid honor product warranty.

And another RMA that was denied until the customer causes a stink about it.
