I have tried updating bios from with in windows 11 and a get a blue box that pops up and says something along the lines of windows just protected your computer, all I have is a Dont run button

I have tried the BIOS method and from forum posts im supposed to go to save and exit and select BIOS file (I do not have this opition) I do have under Extras update BIOS option but each time I go there it says it can't detect a USB Drive.

I have formatted my USB Drive to fat32 like the directions says. And copied the 64 bit version since I'm using windows 11 64bit

Any help Appreciated

i recently dug around and found it for user on another thread. (https://forums.evga.com/FindPost/3560033)

Basically u read instructions:

BIOS Installation
  • Extract the contents of .zip file to USB flash drive (must be formatted as FAT32)
  • Reboot the machine and go into the system BIOS
  • From the BIOS, navigate to the Save & Exit tab and open "Select BIOS File."
  • Select the .bin file you wish to flash.

3rd Step should read as follows:

From the BIOS select from the "EXTRAS" drop down menu,"BIOS Update".

So with ^^ added to the instructions, we now have:

BIOS Installation
  •     Extract the contents of .zip file to USB flash drive (must be formatted as FAT32)
  •     Reboot the machine and go into the system BIOS
  •     From the BIOS select from the "EXTRAS" drop down menu,"BIOS Update".
  •     Select the .bin file you wish to flash.

I think the issue (going from the way you typed your post) is that you only copied the 64 bit folder to the USB drive. You want to just extract the entire zip file there. I believe the 64 bit folder is specifically referenced when installing from within Windows, but the BIOS file itself is outside that folder in the main zip file.

and if ur updating in BIOS (from Extras Drop down), is only the .BIN file that one extracts onto the Flash drive needed?

TY!

Thanks for all your Replies I found another Thread On the internet that explained what the Pop up that came in windows 11  was and how to continue flashing the Bios in windows. I have successfully Flashed my Bios and So far My problems have been fixed. I was Playing Dying light 2 and at various Points my game would Get choppy, Black screen, Then Reboot After the BIOS update i was able to Play ON Max settings for 5 Hrs not one issue, I also would experience Video Loss while installing windows 11 initially, and Other Problems all these issues have not happened. Somebody suggested it might be my Riser cable but apparently that's not the case.

Thanks again

The Main issue is the USB Drive the Bios doesn't detect it, I have tried all USB ports same results I will try a Different USB drive

I just installed a Z690 Classified that came with BIOS version 1.03, so I updated it to 1.12 from within the BIOS using the internal USB port. Out of curiosity, did you format your USB drive as FAT32?

should be a USB port near the 24 pin connector on the board labeled "bios update" - stick the drive with your bios update file in that port to flash it
