Hi all, just purchased an FTW3 Ultra 3090. I stuck it into my computer and i cannot get it to show video. The computer does turn on though and the 3090 does flash it lights. Here are my PC specs: 650 watt PSU (the one that comes in a nzxt H1 case) AS Rock Fatality B450 motherboard 16gb ddr4 ram. Ryzen 7 3700x If i stick my 2070 super back in, it works no problem. Hoping someone can help me out, Thanks all!

Wild guess here but a 650w PSU isn't going to cut it. Personally, I wouldn't go with anything less than a top tier 850w PSU and would likely opt for a 1000w.

Which Nvidia Driver ? Did the one you already have on that supports 3090 ? Did you - Connected all 3 8-pin power sockets ? Confirm PCIe is fully installed & locked ? Might also want to try a Power flush 1 - Shut down 2 - Unplug PC & anything connected to PC that is plugged into the wall (monitor, printer, USB hub ...) 3 - Now hold "start button" in for 20 sec to discharge capacitors .... 4 - Plug in & reboot Stop 3rd part security software ... (go - offline first) Check this thread for details: Comprehensive Windows 10 Black Screen Trouble shooting Guide

Is your bios fully up to date? Try another pci-e slot if available. Try all the outputs on the gpu. Make sure your monitor is set to the correct source.

Yes, 650W really isn't enough. I'm running mine fine on a 850W G5. But even on the Video cards specs, EVGA recommends a min of 750W. On Paper the NZXT H1 looks ok (Was looking at the specs) But not sure how you connected it. There is only 2 VGA connectors and 1 CPU (Sorry going off image). Do you have it running an 8 Pin PCIE and an 8 + 8 Pin PCIE? This is fine if you are, I am doing the same thing. Might not be fine if you are running it as SATA connector running to 8 PIN PCIE. Sorry if these seem off questions just trying to help exhaust all options. 650W Should be enough for it to turn on though. Just maybe not when running 100% load. To give you an idea, Just the CPU and GPU are running at 475W alone. Not including anything else you have running. Cooler, M.2, MB, HDDs, Case fans. All add up.

yeah exactly im running an 8 pin with another 8 + 8 pin. If I unplug any of the three it doesn't turn on so i know those are working. I agree it would at least turn on though...no image at all sadly.

Forgive me if I'm suggesting stuff others have already suggested. The OC switch.. is it in stock or OC, Can you try toggling it on both and see? Are there any devices that you can unplug temporarily just to see. I don't know much about NZXT's PSU's, but just trying to remove anything that may or may not cause issues. Like unplug any HDD power, anything at all. Even for a few seconds just to see if the screen will come on.

I'd suggest testing the card in another pc just to make sure the card is ok.

gabolton Honestly, I'd go buy a new quality PSU. A minimum of 850w so it'll have 3x separate PCIE cables and use those to connect to your 3090. @Wyn10 How old is your PSU? How do you have it connected to the 3090? Not positive on this but you might want to check the PSU thread. https://forums.evga.com/We-need-to-have-a-thread-of-what-PSU-people-have-and-RTX-3080-or-3090-and-is-WORKING-m3118557.aspx. If I recall correctly the G2 was one of the PSU's that people had issues with trying to power a 30xx card.
Using a Supernova 850 G2 thats 4 years old, 6+2 cables, nothing daisy chained. Kinda weird that's the issue when Sli 1080s are fine. My PSU is on the list in that topic. Edit: I just put the 3090 in and set the primary graphics adapter to onboard in bios and windows doesn't even detect the 3090 in device manager. With 3090 as primary windows doesn't even load, detecting this with my ram rgb not changing settings when windows should be booting. After a month and a half of waitin this blows lol.

oh man i feel for you, let me know if you find a resolution. I find it hard to believe that the 3090 is bad out of bock. Could be something with my motherboard but i really have exhausted all options

Received my replacement 3090 last week and been smooth sailing. Serial starts with 2014 and has red lips. thomasdadams How did you update the bios if no display? I don’t have another gpu and the screen won’t work.
You can use onboard video from motherboard if your cpu supports it.

Yes, had to use onboard video, or old card to get video. As long you dont have any red led illuminated by the power dongles you still have a good graphics card. Make sure you are using a version of windows 10 that the latest nvidia driver supports 461.09. And ofcourse update your bios, becareful doing so. Goodluck ...

Giving an update here. Got my replacement 3090 from EVGA a couple of day ago. Was playing league and my screen goes back and when I look at the gpu one red light is on the middle power port. Well here goes another RMA. So annoying. Second 3090 to fail. I have a 1000w PSU EVGA platinum.

Running an EVGA 1000W G2 PSU and Im getting no signal on my monitor 3 separate leads from the PSU to the card Ive been running this setup since December 2020 and last night the signal cut off while playing Bioshock Remastered. Hardly a system taxing title for a card like this. I put my RTX Super 2080 back in and its working fine.

Giving a further update here. The latest 3090 I’ve gotten has lasted the longest any of the other cards have. Currently almost hitting two months of working fine! New 2021 model code no idea of EVGA made a fix or what but keeping my fingers crossed.

The consensus is it is exactly such non-taxing scenarios that correlate with the failures. SM

Yep, mine just died tonight playing Alien Isolation on a loading screen. My first 3090 died starting Halo MCC. They legit do die doing the most basic things. Both times FPS was under 100 and my temps were under 50*. There is some sort of really odd condition happening here with older stuff causing these catastrophic hardware failures on these 3090's
