meh, I'm losing hope. 

Crypto mining is a small portion of what the cards are used for 6-7% or something like that. Makes a small dent in supply but that's it.

Tell that to the thousands of video cards that were drowned in flooding a few years ago. Now that means no used cards on fleabay. My old RX 480 now sells for $500

That's the problem with so much of our world now, wealth is desired almost above all else by those with power. It will only lead us to more dire circumstances.

And unfortunately, they are a business and they don't care.  If they can sell mass quantities of these cards at significantly higher markup, they are going to.  I just hate all the theatrics saying they are for us, when they really don't care, except for the mighty dollar.  oh well.

If GPU mining is here to stay, the manufacturing is going to have to ramp waaaaaay up to meet demand. These things print money right now, so of course they're getting snatched up. ETH 2.0 and what takes its place will really determine if GPUs for mining are here to stay or not.

Wow, nobody acknowledge or at least recognize that Nvidia feeds on the problem and not the solution, the company clearly does not care about the consumers demands? This topic is saying that. 🙄

it isn't going away and it's only got more profitable
to stake a node now cost about $125k for ETH 2.0
 
Ether is more valuable than ever, and that's bad news for PC gamers
 
As of this writing, a single Ether is trading at $3,469.92, up 9.52 percent over 24 hours and 362.26 percent on the year.

The market can really boom and bust. The worrisome part of all this is
the big names getting involved. Remember guys the big money is not made
by the miners per say but the ones saling the picks and shovels !!

Gamers were the OG loyal customers that have been with them for decade(s) and they turn their back on us...

I really wish a new purely gaming brand came out to smoke these fools. They've grown too complacent. It's bad enough they're increasing prices with smallet and smaller improvements.
