According to the Chinese website ITHome, Intel is going to launch its 10th generation Comet Lake-H CPUs for mobile devices, on April 2nd. The new models are going to bring improved frequency and core count, with top-end models reaching up to 8 cores with 16 threads. NVIDIA, on the other hand, will also update its mobile offerings with the arrival of Turing SUPER mobile cards. So far, we only had a choice of regular Turing series, however, there is soon going to be a SUPER variant of the existing cards. Being that these cards are also expected to arrive on April 2nd, laptop manufacturers will integrate new products and showcase their solutions on that date. The availability of these devices, based on new Intel Comet Lake-H CPUs and NVIDIA Turing SUPER GPUs, is expected to follow soon after, precisely on April 15th. Additionally, it is notable that laptop manufacturer Mechrevo will hold an online press conference where they will showcase their "Z3" gaming laptop based on new technologies. I have to also believe the launch the day after April fool's day was deliberate.

Should be good for gaming laptops to have the Super used in them and the new Intel chips will also be good.

How do you get that much hardware to run, unless it is plugged in ?
Sure hope they put an extra large battery in those laptops ...

Sure hope they put an extra large battery in those laptops ...
Increasing the battery size above 100 watt hours is marketing (Edit: and logistical and supply chain) suicide because of air transportation restrictions. Most laptops are already up near that limit. So, yes, it will have to be plugged in. This isn't a new concept. They call them desktop replacements and they are meant to be plugged in while being properly used. When they are not plugged in, they are extremely throttled and run poorly.

I have an Alienware Area-51m with i9-9900K/RTX 2080 200w and a few other older gaming laptops.
As @ty_ger07 said, they need to be plugged in for max performance. I get about 50% GPU performance on battery and 100% only when plugged in. My CPU, however, can run at full speed on battery.
This is also the case on my 2012 M18xR2 with 3920XM / 780M SLI. The GPUs throttle heavily on battery, but CPU can run full speed.

I just hope we don't have too many people making horrible April fools day jokes this year, joking about hardware releases would be the least of my worries.
