Officially speaking, the Nvidia 2080 ‘Super’ isn’t set to release for a few more days yet. As such, there is still a lot of media NDAs in place to stop people from announcing news (specifically on its performance) early. It seems, however, that somebody has accidentally(?) posted their Final Fantasy XV Benchmarks on the official website. As such, we have our first glimpse as to how good the final 20XX ‘Super‘ is going to be!

Personally I think the benchmarks are about what they should be for the Super RTX 2080. What is very pleasant is the Super RTX 2080 only falls behind the RTX 2080ti by a small amount. I believe overclocked SUPER RTX 2080 cards will narrow that gap even more.

Final Fantasy XV is probably the worst benchmark to use to test performance since results are not always the same. Gamers Nexus talked about why they pulled it from a benchmark and they had good reasons and I would trust something else before really using this as a base to guess about real world performance.

RIP people who thought it would match a 2080 Ti.  Now the Question becomes: do you get a 2080 Super FTW3 Ultra for $800, or a 2080 Ti Black for $900-950 on sale.

2080 Ti hands down.  Not to mention another 5% when a associate code is used but the same can be said about the lower price on a 2080 Super.  I guess it just comes down to what the consumer wants to spend but it's nice to see these deals regardless and I kinda like the price point with the 2080 Super.

RIP to anyone who fell for the "Super" 2080. Checked the benchmarks on here and at least to say from that, you'd rather go back to the old 1080Ti. Didn't watched the review from HardwareCanucks yet, but from what I heard, the guys weren't impressed as well.

The 1080Ti is a good card new but the 2080 Super or 2080Ti are just better options. You know the warranty and you know you won’t get ripped off buying new card. If you own a 1080Ti an upgrade isn’t needed but if you need an upgrade I simply wouldn’t trust the used marketplace for a 1080Ti and would feel better getting a 2080 Super.

got my 1080Ti just 4 months ago brand new for 770 euros ( more or less initial release price) from a shop and its not a crappy 1080Ti version.... as it is 1000euros on the market now!
would never go for the 2080 that's more or less the same performance and less Vram!
(and very very very glad i did NOT went for a 2080... at least... not now that they send out the "fearsome" super versions...   )

the 2080 Ti is 1200 euros minimum here in Portugal! ( ludicrous pricing) that's 2 full months salary!!!
so who in their right mind a few months back would pay minimum 400 euros more for just 25% performance at best??

either way right now the 1080Ti are rare and just around 1000 euros brand new! SO? i REALLY made a good bargain.
so bottom line.....1080 ti here are at 1000 price range AND therefore not worth it anymore when you  can go for a 2080Ti... for "just" 200euros more.

but good to see the "super versions" are "better" than the vanilla ones that where bought by many many people that must be angry right now....
lets see what next year 7nm gfx will bring...
i like Nvidia... but they sure did mess up ALOT with Turing generation and right now... they are not impressing anyone...

I've had my Titan X Pascal nearly 3 years now and it's still a damn good card - with the AiO cooler on it, it runs at 2GHz without even having to up the voltage, and can handle anything I throw at it with ease. It's been an amazing GPU. I still see no need to upgrade.

That is a very good point. Some people feel that hardcore gamers upgrade all the time but in reality we upgrade when needed. I know people still happy and gaming just fine with a GTX 970. It kind of depends on the games you like to play as to when is the right time to upgrade.

    In other words:
Well, I took a walk around the world to ease my troubled mind
I left my body lying somewhere in the sands of time
But I watched the world float to the dark side of the moon
I feel there's nothing I can do, yeah

I watched the world float to the dark side of the moon
After all I knew, it had to be something to do with you
I really don't mind what happens now and then
As long as you'll be my friend at the end

If I go crazy, then will you still call me Superman?
If I'm alive and well, will you be there and holding my hand?
I'll keep you by my side with my superhuman might
    Kryptonite

You called me strong, you called me weak
But still your secrets, I will keep
You took for granted all the times, I never let you down
You stumbled in and bumped your head
If not for me then you'd be dead
I picked you up and put you back on solid ground

If I go crazy, then will you still call me Superman?
If I'm alive and well, will you be there and holding my hand?
I'll keep you by my side with my superhuman might
    Kryptonite
