    1)  Because it rhymes!
    2)  I'm a pc/performance junkie
    .. other reasons..
    8)  If I'm going to pay this much for a card, it needs to be more than just a little (speculation) faster w/a possible Physx gamble.  Something tangible with improved features e.g vrm etc or additional cape's (however I am sympathetic with the TI and its massive Si die).

I saw that this morning.  I really like the hybrid out of the box idea.  Honestly, last release there was a lot of chatter about how KPE should have the option of water-cooling from the factory.  And...we got it!

Maybe this time we can all ask for a small tank of N2 for the next release.

I’d prefer non-hybrid. It deserves a custom loop if no LN2 (which no one uses). Air cool until then

I used to mine. Now I compute.

I could see it in the $1500-$1600+.  That's basically two 2080s + NVLink.  I'd go with the later if it's for Ultra settings, high FPS on high res/hz unless those folks are solely after benchmarks even though you'll never beat Kingpin himself.

Naw, the FTW3's will be $1400 alone. Kingpin will be $1500-$1600.

I'd prefer the kingpn to include a custom water block over an air cooler or AIO. Better yet, sell the pcb and allow us to select on purchase if we want pot, AIO, air, or custom block.

this conversation again....they can’t sell the pcb alone, this is discussed every generation. There have been folks that killed their hydrocopper cards because they didn’t know it required water to be watercooled....they legit thought it was all internal... deliver a card with no PCB and they would instantly fry their purchase.

Last gen they had a waterblock available, all folks had to do was buy it and install it.

I am ready to read the “my aircooled kingpin designed for Ln2 overclocking died on air” threads... those are always heartbreaking but oh so common.

To masterminer, if people aren’t using ln2, why is there a card designed to be used with ln2? People may be foolish enough with their money to spend an extra $300-500 dollars for a few points, but on air, they are only financing their ability to show off their wallet online.

Hold on, please explain. You put a lot in bold and called something false...

Did evga Not sell a waterblock separate for those that initially purchased the air cooled card?

Were there not multiple threads showing people fried their cards because of a lack of knowledge for what they purchased?

Please... clear up what part you are calling false?

    That is True ^
When I got my two cards with the HC Block Preinstalled EVGA did not sale the HC Water Blocks on their website.
If I recall it was more than 30+ Days Later that they listed them on their website
    https://www.evga.com/articles/01116/evga-geforce-gtx-1080-ti-kingpin/
I was lucky to get two of them.

Well, I mean, one could spend real very serious $$$ on super cars that could be “designed for the track”... but never take them on the track. (see: Porsche 918, Audi R8).

There are actually more practical advantages to an extremely over-engineered gpu that is not necessarily designed for 24-7 compute but adequately cooled is pretty reliable and tons less than, say, a tesla (gpu card, not the car :-)

Someone interested in showing off a wallet would have a supercar in the driveway.

All things considered the KP is a great card to crunch numbers and hugely less $$$ than the professional alternatives. LN2 just seems like an awful lot of work.

Before Titan V, the 1080 ti KP was a great DL card and then when you get to inferencing use a true “pro” card - Tesla.

The same over-design that makes it great for LN2 makes it great for a whole bunch of other things.

I used to mine. Now I compute.

I suppose that the 2080Ti KPE will probably come late Q1 2019 :/  And probably be like 1600-1700 USD sadly :( Hopefully there will be a Hydro Copper version again :)

Yup, I think your right on with the drop time. Def wont be before Feb 1 2019. The price on the other hand I don't think is going to be that high. Nvidia has already priced these cards out of a lot of peoples hands, which im sure has upset all there partners too since its going to kill there profits and make things very hard for them to offer custom design cards like the kingpin at reasonable prices. My guess would be that the Kingpin cards will probably be a much smaller lot quantity than usual and maybe only a single run. At these prices they are def going to have to do things a little differently, make some compromises somewhere to get the same build/performance quality as the previous gens. If AMD was ever going to take a swipe at Nvidia and try to pull the rug out from under them with a great performance card at a good price, this is the time. The PC world sure has heated up in the last 2 years, which is good for us in the end!
