Hello,

My 1080ti sc runs pretty hot and loud during games (85c at 90% fan speed) and I'm trying to see if I can get some better cooling for it, I even got one of those PCI Graphic Card Coolers with 3 fans... It looks cool but doesn't do anything for the temps so I send that crap back. I heard about the evga hybrid coolers but that a bit out of my price range and I kinda dont like the look of it. Someone told me about kraken g12 bracket and corsair h55 aio, would that work on my card? And if yes would it void my warranty?

Picture of my "gpu cooler" haha

Your warranty will not be voided as long as you install the cooler back when you need to RMA it to EVGA.

Have you tried to change TIM first before doing anything? Sometimes replacing the TIM (thermal paste) does the job. After doing that and you still get the same results then go the Kraken G12 and H55 route.

Yes the G12 and H55 do work, I installed it on my FTW 3 and it worked fine! It should fit your SC2 with no issues since the bracket uses the mounting hole of the GPU chip which is the same for all 1080 ti cards. Heck I even used the G12 on my 780 Ti and it worked as well.

Sure would be helpful if we had more details on your system. What you don't need is something that just blows air around inside your case.  (which you discovered) You need to supply the GPU with cooler outside air into your case. Does removing the side panel and using a fan to blow air into the case significantly lower the GPU temps?  There's really no other solution to cooler temps for that style GPU barring modifications or as was pointed out a defective TIM application can cause temp issues. These GPU's are designed to run at full load at ~80C. With decent case airflow you should be able to manage that at much lower fan speeds.

Wow, that's toasty. I was under the impression that the Pascal cards ran fairly cool. Hopefully the repaste does the trick. I'm sure it will.

DisDid they make it where you could out the hybrid cooler on pretty much all of their cards?

I have 7 fans in my case 3 intake and 4 exhaust. I haven't try playing games with the side glass off yet because of all the fans i have running at full speed, but ill try it when i get home.

From all the reviews I watched before purchasing, it was a known fact that EVGA's two fan cooler just can't handle the 1080Ti's heat well. It wasn't just them either, other companies had the same issues if they were running 2 fans instead of 3(with the exception of MSI I believe).

Check out the Rajintek Morpheus II. At 1000rpm, using EK Vardar fans, temps are below 60C. At 2000rpm, the temps are at 49C, 13C lower than the EVGA cooler. The Morpheus is on par with AIO coolers with these temps and only costs $70 plus the cost of fans.

Can't post links here for some reason so search for this phrase on youtube. "The Ultimate GTX 1080 Ti Cooler? Morpheus 2". Optimum Tech made the video and he shows installation, temps and noise in direct comparison with your card.

Just take out the heatsink and see if the contact between GPU and heatsink is okay or not.

Okay I just want to Update everyone ... the right top corner of the chip did not have any paste on it and so i replaced it with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut and damn! my GPU maxes out at 72C as before it was going up to 85c

    thanks for all the help

Glad to see that changing the TIM made a big difference' covering the whole GPU usually does

You might also want to experiment with your case fans

There we go bad TIM application.  I realize there's a 'squeaky wheel' bias on forums ie people complain they don't usually praise... that said, it does seem to happen more than it should. TIM application should be a no-brainer...they usually goop on far more than you need.
