how would i do that?

Same way you do any driver. Download the driver an install it.
https://www.intel.com/con.../graphics-drivers.html

thanks for the link, i didn't know how to find that driver. the new driver fixed the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter error, and now it only shows my 1080 Ti in device manager. i believe the error was related to my monitor running at 144hz
'
However, my GPU is still not being detected right away. takes 2-3 minutes before the NVIDIA control panel is accessible. Should i just try to connect via the second PCIe x16 slot to rule out hardware fault in the card?

well after installing the new iGPU driver it seems to have effected my game play. The screen is extremely grainy and looks like a very low resolution.

both monitors are set to 1080p, one at 144hz and the other at 60hz. Is this a hardware issue or did the iGPU update cause this?

Both monitors are connected to the gpu correct? The igpu driver shouldn't affect the dedicated gpu at all.

Well that is what I thought but the only change I've made between today and yesterday is updating the iGPU driver.

Now my in game resolution is constantly switching from grainy to 1080p. It's very hard to play. Not sure what caused it

Hmm. Very odd. Here are my current suggestions...

#1 Update your motherboard bios to the latest version if you aren't already running the latest bios version.
#2 Try the card in a different pci-e slot.
#3 Try the other vbios on the card.

I'm running the latest Mobo bios. I'll move the gpu now. In the meantime how do I complete #3.

Also in my bios under tool/graphics card information. Shows bus interface to be pcie_x8_2. And says select a valid GPU for the gop/vbios status section

In the meantime how do I complete #3.

Shutdown the pc, unplug the psu from the wall, press and hold case power on button for 30 seconds, flip the vbios switch to the other position (the switch can be located just to the left of the two 8-pin power inputs on the video card), plug psu back into the wall and turn the system on.

This is what I could find on the select a valid gpu message... https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=267969.0

Ok switched the vbios. Tried both pcie slots. Still doing the same thing. At this point I have no idea what caused this

Ok so I've been doing some more testing while waiting on the RMA process. And maybe for a little peace of mind.

I corrected the fuzzy/blurred image during gameplay. My monitor has multiple settings for response time. At some point it changed to the fastest value. I turned it down one setting and it looks normal again.

I posted my issue with GPU delay on the Asus ROG forums. One guy said he believed my driver is installing on every boot up. And sure enough I open the task manager and the driver installation module is running in task manager. Once the GPU is running again the process closes.

How do I stop that? Almost as if the driver didn't install fully

Try deleting the nvidia folder on your c:\ drive to see if that stops it. If that doesn't stop it you'll need to disable windows updates as windows is reinstalling your driver on each boot up.

@Sajin = You should know I had the SAME issue as the guy with the BENQ monitor. I'd hit the power button and the Dell P2717 monitor plugged in via HDMI would show up first with Bios screen, then My primary Dell monitor S2716DG wouldn't boot and even displayed broken screen and was non-responsive. Ultimately, I did "#2" from directions above and powered it down - then reinstalled the drivers for my EVGA 1080 ti FTW3 and it booted up with both displays with no issues. Something about re-installing the drivers after using the DDU software worked perfectly.

I wonder if EVGA/Nividia needs to look into this nonsense. I was about ready to return some product.
