I bought the 1300w EVGA PSU expecting it to have these cables like I heard the 1000w does but it only had 8 pin to 8+6 ones sadly.  I'm making a crypto rig with 4  Vega 56 GPUs so I'm gonna need to use 8-pin to 2x 8-pin(6+2) cables for two of them.

I am really scared of buying the generic splitters from amazon as I've heard some horror stories about melted cables, fires, etc...  I wouldn't know which ones to trust and the cards are too expensive to risk on something questionable.  Does EVGA sell these splitter cables individually somewhere?

Thanks!

In that case I really would recommend an EVGA 1600 watt PSU. However please contact EVGA tech support so that they can give you the best possible advice

no company would sell something like this for their product as its just asking for the customer to overload their power supply which could potentially lead to hardware failure, injury, fire, or maybe death. who wants their name on that kind of liability for a few dollar part? they will sell the 2x 6 pin to 8pin adaptors are these are made to safely expand the capabilities of your power supply.

short answer the only way to get these is a custom route.

Some PSUs do come with a single 8-pin cable end that branches off into two 8-pin (6+2) that go to the PCIe connectors like this one from an EVGA 1000W G3, not uncommon.

You can get them from CableMod as linked to above..You can always contact CableMod if in doubt..Don't buy cheap junk..You can also contact EVGA support as also suggested above..EVGA can sell you individual cables and those like from the 1000W G3 or another model may work in your 1300W unit, some interchange and some don't..You could also go to the product pages of the various EVGA PSUs and look in the Compatibility tab to compare cable part numbers and see if they match.

You can estimate your system wattage need using the EVGA Power Meter or the OuterVision PSU Calculator which is more detailed.

Wow thanks you guys are incredibly helpful!  Just for clarification, each Vega when clocked right only draws about 150w, so my 1300w PSU should be more than enough to handle 4.  I should have just gone with the 1000w and gotten the cables I wanted :p

I'm already in touch with EVGA directly so hopefully that does the trick, but if not I will look into cablemod.

One reason I slightly prefer the Seasonic X-series and SS-860 over the EVGA G2 series - their standard cables are 2 x 6+2 pin connectors instead of a 6+2 and a 6 on their dual PCI-E cables.
They also tend to offer more connections at the PS itself at a given power level, so you don't NEED to use as many dual cables to achieve a given number of connections.
Their "CPU" power connnections on the PS end are also identical to the VGA connections, so you can mix-and-match as needed, often giving you ONE MORE available VGA cable connection (EVGA does NOT use the same pinout which means most machines are WASTING that second "CPU" connection).

Hey I have the same problem. I need the CPU 8 Pin port to connect to a 6+2 pin GPU... And yes the PSU can handle it. I ordered this product:

And the 8 Pin did not fit into the PSU because the top right is box shaped instead of wedge shaped.

Did you find a cable that would work?

Sounds like you need an eps to pci-e cable.

One other option - a lot of cards include a "dual 6 pin to 8 pin PCI-E" adapter.
Use 2 of those to come up with the extra connection you need, feeding from the "unused" 6-pin connections on your dual cables.

I ended up having to do that one one machine to power 3 x Aorus 1080 ti cards (same dual-8 pin connection issue).

i did that trying to power 4x 1070's because they required dual 8pin power for no real reason.

    MSI Gaming X models?
Only 1070 model I'm aware of that have dual 8 pin connections (and an insane 240 watt factory TDP rating).

EVGA FTW are also dual 8 pin, though standard tdp.

EVGA FTW 1070 models are 215 watt TDP, which is quite a bit more than the "standard" 150 of the founders edition though nowhere near the crazy 240 of that MSI card.
It would make a TON more sense for them to be 8 + 6 as that would still allow access to 300 watts of total power and plenty of room for massive overclocking.

oh, ya that's what i meant to say. the TDP was way under the power rating of the dual 8pin and should, as you said, be an 8+6pin.
