Hey guys!
I'm planning to build my first computer. I already bought a Samsung 850 evo 500gb ssd but I was thinking about getting a small m.2 ssd (like the corsair 120gb model) for the operating system, steam etc. Will there be a huge difference if I install windows on a m.2 or regular ssd? Is it worth the upgrade?

There was a great write up of the major differences somewhere in this forum, if you search for it.

The ultimate conclusion was: There isn't really a practical difference to the user. And not worth it to spend the extra $200 or whatever it ends up being.

    Intel i7 11700k l ASUS PRIME Z590-A l ASUS TUF RTX3080Ti l 32GB Corsair Vengeance Pro l Evga 1000w Gold l 512GB Samsung EVO l 2x5 TB Storage Drives l  Corsair Crystal 570X White l Audio Engine A5+

Depending on your MB & CPU, using the M.2 can disable some of your PCIe slots, so read your manual

in the real world use you may see a slight difference in speed, not as much as going from a mechanical to ssd but some. larger programs will load faster also.

In my experience the M.2 version is much faster than a normal SSD.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA
