Sounds like your screen needs to be repaired since the laptop works while using an external display.

    Hello,

you will need to boot up in safe mode.

Once in the OS go to your c:\program files(x86)\EVGA\ and delete the "Profiles" folder.

Restart your system and Precision X will be reset.

The backlight is on but It displays nothing, not even the hp logo... had to use an external monitor to uninstall the evga program but still no display. I have tried the 'connect to a projector' but no change

Are you able to access the boot menu or bios?

It doesnt display even the hp logo at start, i try to press the key for bios but still nothing. I accessed the bios menu using an external monitor, revert settings to default, saved and exit but still no display for laptop monitor.

Using the external monitor, uninstall the NVIDIA Graphics Driver with Display Driver Uninstaller..Then reinstall the NVIDIA Graphics Driver..Roll from there.

Just a heads up to anyone running a laptop reading this thread....

You do NOT use third party tools on laptop GPU's (there is a REASON all such tools advise against such use)
Many laptops contain custom fan control/cooling software and many use very complicated custom display setups, that will conflict when using 3rd party tools.

    ---------------------------------
In this case it appears that the OP has damaged his laptop screen and will probably be facing a cost equal to the entire laptop to replace it....
*its possible he just messed up his display init, but regardless its going to the shop and its not going to be fast or cheap
    ---------------------------------

If you want to use 3rd party tools with laptops, you do so completely warned that you can damage your hardware
*and just so you know.. the amount of overclocking that can be done on a laptop (even when such software works) is ridiculously tiny

Remove XOC turn off your Laptop.
Pull the battery and the CMOS battery for 15-20 minutes.
