I figured pick the masses brains before dealt with EVGA but i suspect I will need to RMA. After a pwr on, no display output and bios threw some code i didn't pay attention. Reset bios same. I got a mobo with integrated graphics just for these cases. Monitor displays connected to mobo hdmi. since reset bios re config to boot from pcie 1 slot first and disabled IGX. Back to no output on monitor using 980ti. Tried another pci-e slot on mobo, same result. 980 does get pwr because the leds on it light up, i do notice only 1 of the fans turn on. I dont think the 900 series have independent functioning fans like the ICX stuff? Let me know if missed anything or other ideas because as I see it, elim monitor by working with IGX, and cable since same cable, and pci slots unless mult ones got shot.

Not sound to good .... couple of things to try

    What MB ?

A1) Once in bios you will need to navigate to BOOT > CSM > PCIE (set PCIE from Legacy to UEFI)

A2) located under BOOT > CSM > Boot from PCIE Devices (set this option to UEFI)

    B) physically unplugging the monitor's power for a minute then plugging it back in.

So i guess EVGA possibly sends out different/better/newer cards for RMA then replacement of same? Before i get too happy thinking something different is shipped but RMA info shows ive got a 1080 coming for my 980ti. Possibly error or EVGA does swap models at RMA?

Yes, evga can do that if they don't have any cards like yours in the rma stockpile.

Products sent in for RMA will be repaired and returned or replaced with a thoroughly tested recertified product of equal or greater performance.
