I have ordered 2 EK-FC TitanX Pascal-Nickel Plated Copper Water Block with Plexi Top for Nvidia TitanX Pascal + EK-FC Terminals (SLI/Crossfire)
Today for my EVGA GTX 1080Ti Graphics Cards.
Some Questions to anyone who is doing the same or who knows.
Can I use the Current Back Plate from EVGA or do I need to order the EK Back Plate?
Thanks.

Luck owners of custom loop, they probably enjoy now...
I like more original backplate from GTX1080Ti FE or EVGA.

Not having them on hand I can say it should be possible, still...

Default FE backplate is 2 part entity hold by 16 screws. Backplate from EK is hold only by 6 screws. It would require closer inspection if all FE 16 screws won't interfere with block itself. Another thing maybe clearance between I/O shield and backplate. Default is certainly thinner than slab of aluminium plate - EK add some thermalpads so distance for pads alone has to be minimum 0.5mm+thickness of the plate another 1 or 1.5mm.

For now I'm awaiting approval/payment request so withholding my block purchase and frankly I'm more interested in Bitspower Titan XP block than EK.

    Actually 3min and 50 seconds.
    Later become interesting.

If someone have EK Predator or other type of watercooling could buy FE freely.
    Only need waterblock for GPU.

Not a very nice Head on the Bitspower (IMHO)

    But thank you.

That's for old Titan from 9x0 series.

New for XP looks like this:

Sweet. EK annoyed me twice on the bounce and I said, no way I will buy stuff from them this time - and there is frankly no comparison between EK and Bitspower both are in different league quality-wise. The only problem with BP is price and relatively limited availability in Europe - most of stuff I have was 'on-demand' (read: 2-3 weeks of waiting) purchase. This particular block is 170 Euro which isn't that bad considering quality and complete package. Basically same as EK which is 120 Euro for block, 35 backplate and 13 Euro for acrylic terminal. It's a bit daft to disassemble new block (POM->acryl)just to switch terminals don't you think?

    More pictures here: https://www.bitspower.com.tw/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=173_268_270_276&products_id=4494

And BP offers very nice SLI bridges in full acrylic for any possible setup while EK don't.

Not at all. Good but there are much better options in many instances. In general I always pick and choose between Bitspower, EK, Alphacool and Watercool.

Worse part about EK is quality of plating on fittings. I have stacks of BP (or even old Alphacool) and I was abusing them seriously. All look exactly the same day I bought them. With EK (especially black nickel) you strip the plating when you screw them. Also color is not the same I have like 5 or 6 batches of black nickel fittings from EK and every batch looks differently, shade is not exactly the same and that's unacceptable for the price. Main advantage of EK is (reasonably) low price and much wider availability because they are biggest company.

Especially if you have something specific in mind, like fully colored build or some specific fitting. That kind of service offers only Bitspower with wide range of colored fittings in all popular colors, EK is nowhere here. Was thinking about fully Royal Blue scheme, but gosh cost would eat me alive. At least some part will be but not whole.

Being annoyed at EK has nothing to do with quality of products (OK maybe poor plating is minimally involved). It's nature of responses on two topics I've received over past few months and I'll provide no further comment on the matter.

OK small update on the Bitspower BP-WBTX-H-BRGB block.

Bitspower's block for Titan XP is NOT compatible with any 1080Ti FE

Got on the e-mail with Bitspower in the morning and they confirmed few minutes ago that blocks for Titan Pascal are not compatible. 1080Ti FE block will be available this week.

I was not going to say that! But I would have at least have said a BIG Update
Can I use the Current Back Plate from EVGA or do I need to order the EK Back Plate? is still the question in hand.

Well, first off, are you asking about the Nvidia backplate or are you talking about an unreleased EVGA 1080Ti backplate? If you're asking about the stock nvidia backplate, I would direct you here to the Titan X water block page: https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-fc-titan-x-pascal-nickel

In the yellow box at the bottom, it says
    • NVIDIA® TITAN X factory backplate is not compatible with this water block!"
If you were asking about EVGA backplates, historically looking back at the 680, 780, 980 etc, EVGA backplates are never compatible with EK waterblocks.

Titan X Pascal - backplate is optional * - basically the same card as the 1080 Ti

    EVGA 1080 FE - backplate optional *

    * I think EK metal BP helps dissipate the heat better than stock "metal BP with plastic film on the inside surface"

(below are quote from EK website)

Backplate covers the whole length of graphics cards PCB, serves as an aesthetic add-on and also provides passive cooling for the backside of voltage regulation module (VRM).

EKWB recommends the purchase of aesthetic retention backplate (EK-FC Titan X Pascal Backplate - Black, Nickel, Blue, Red, Gold) which improves the looks of your graphics cards and also provide some passive cooling to the circuit board VRM section.

    Backplate install pdf
    https://www.ekwb.com/shop...K-IM-3831109831700.pdf

    Edit for clarity:
    1) changed originan text to :  stock metal BP with plastic film on the inside surface

    2)   The Stock 1080 FE & Titan-X P Backplate - are some sort of non-magnetic metal - they have a plastic non-conductive film on the side closest to the graphics card electronics side.   The EK BP has no such film.

Thanks for clarifying guys -- I've had the same question. I've just ordered the Backplates from EKWB site -- could not find them anywhere else. Already ordered the blocks from Newegg, but they have wrong BP listed as Titan Pascal X one -- beware!

    Thanks,

ATM All the EVGA GTX 1080Ti have Back Plates installed.

EK is pulling back order for the Water Blocks as well as other problems.
This really sucks " EVGA backplates are never compatible with EK waterblocks. "

It is now showing in stock and it was Special Order a few hours ago.

    Thanks.
    EK-FC Titan X Pascal - Nickel

    EK-FC Terminal DUAL Serial 3-Slot - Plexi

I have a Titan X Pascal and I used the stock TXP back plate and original screws. Should be the same for the reference 1080 ti.

The nvidia backplate is plastic. I doubt evga uses plastic backplates. Passive cooling is a joke when the front side is getting active cooling. Plus only certain areas are getting thermal pads to transfer the heat. Nvidia is only using the plate for aesthetics anyway. Evga was doing the same thing until the FTW thermal issues began. Now only evga and a few high-end cards have back plates with heat transfer potential.

EK backplates are aluminium. Always were. Bitspower never know exactly until you have one in hand but most likely alu :), Watercool are stainless steel for older cards or aluminium for most recent offerings. BTW: Watercool confirmed compatibility of a Titan XP block with 1080Ti.

    Look at these sexy blocks:

    http://shop.watercool.de/...rcooleK/Products/15584

In general backplate offer 0 cooling improvement which has been proven like zillion times already. If you have one or not, is purely aesthetics and improved rigidity if loop is flex-tube one.

Take Watercool backplates for older hot cards like 580 or 690. These never were intended to be stuffed with thermalpads for "supposed" cooling potential. Instead they just drilled like 50 holes along the path of the GPU core. Simple and effective. I've never run into issues with overheating of VGA without backplate.

I did not know that you can put both the in and out on the same side of the Water Block.
    Thanks fro sharing.

    Cool GTX
Titan X Pascal - backplate is optional * - basically the same card as the 1080 Ti

    EVGA 1080 FE - backplate optional *

    * I think EK metal BP helps dissipate the heat better than stock plastic cover

(below are quote from EK website)

Backplate covers the whole length of graphics cards PCB, serves as an aesthetic add-on and also provides passive cooling for the backside of voltage regulation module (VRM).

EKWB recommends the purchase of aesthetic retention backplate (EK-FC Titan X Pascal Backplate - Black, Nickel, Blue, Red, Gold) which improves the looks of your graphics cards and also provide some passive cooling to the circuit board VRM section.

    Backplate install pdf

The EVGA Back Plate is Plastic Now?
Sad it True Guess I will have to Get the EK one then.

PS The Name on the WB or BP is not an issue for me.

    I chose my words poorly.

The Stock 1080 FE & Titan-X P Backplate - are some sort of non-magnetic metal - they have a plastic non-conductive film on the side closest to the graphics card electronics side.   The EK BP has no such film.

Yes, stock metal BP with plastic film on the inside surface

Had to cancel my orders due to out of stock and not even made yet promises.
So Glad EVGA's Website it not this way.
No I might as well wait to see if EVGA comes out with an Hydro Copper for their GTX 1080Ti FE Graphics Card.

I'm not sure EK has a dedicated Ti backplate ---> yet  So, engraving does say Titan X

Current  EK Titan X Pascal water block and Backplate fit

I don't mind the Titan X engraving on the backplate :). However the problem with the one currently being offered on Newegg that it is mislabeled and does not fit Titan X Pascal or 1080Ti. There is feedback from two people have been burned by it:
