Currently I've been using both OBS (the old one) and OBS Studio (the new one). I'm trying to record at 1440p @ 60FPS which should be an extremely easy feat (build is in signature). However, the recordings come out choppy (even at lower resolutions - 1080p) even if I use the "Ultrafast" preset for x264. Bitrate setting makes no change nor does changing the quality (crf) in the custom x264 settings. I've checked CPU Usage and it seems to only be using about 4 or so cores at any given time which is probably why I'm having so much trouble. I've also tried writing the file to both my WD Black & my Samsung 850 Evo to see if the disk IO was a bottleneck. No change.
I've checked the logs and out of thousands of frames recorded, only a very small number are late or duplicated (maybe 10-20) which is probably due to me being minimized out of the game when I start recording and then going back into it.
I've heard about XSplit, DXTory, etc. and was curious as to which program (free or paid) would give me the best performance based on your guys' knowledge and experience. I have this killer of a system and I just want high-quality recordings to be able to upload/post and re-watch for future reference. Thanks in advance!
