Im thinking of using my old AMD tri cores heatsink to try to make my own waterblock, or would it be worth it to chop up my phenom 965 heatsink and use it because of the copper base. Also any tips for how to make it? I have alot of idea and of how i would like to go about it.
Any ideas on how to do a cheap pump would be great as well.

Ya got me on that one. You could pm Nateman doo the resident block pro for some suggestions on how to deal with that heatsink. I just ordered one of these,   http://www.performance-pc...amp;products_id=22611,   at Nate's suggestion to make a block. Remove the outer row of pins and solder on a 1.5 inch sweat cap. Hopefully make a pretty sweet little block.

I could break the fins off a stock intel sink and get a similar effect. If Nateman chimes in then its more than welcome, but i wont quite go as far as messaging him, he could be very busy.

I've pm'd Nate a few times, he's helped me a lot. But with the title of the thread I'm sure he will be checking it out at some point today.

Hmm well you could just do both I think. Unless you need the 965 HS for warranty purposes.

so i removed the base from the heatsink, tho i love my grinder i forgot things get very hot, i went to turn the heatsink over after grinding half way through and burnt my hand. After a quick trip to the wal mart for some bandages i finished and will be smoothing it out tomorrow. I must say i deserve a face palm or two. Also can i get some more tips!?

my buddy uses a trans cooler w/fan.  works quite well with the enzotech block I made for him.  The trans cooler works even better when he put it outside in the winter.  He is just a tool for not sub-zero prepping his board so now his mobo is as useful as a paperweight.

You should prep the motherboard if there is any chance of condensation.  That means bringing temps below the dew point
