Hmm tried that and not working. Even googled on how to do it. LOL
Thought maybe UAC was stopping it  from running but turned that off and still no go.
Guess I'll have to stick with running it manually, just that I always forget to do it 75% of the time for a couple hours or even at all that day.

No way to add a start with windows tick option in a future version? The program has just about every other option except make my coffee. LOL

Do you have multiple GPUs? If so then this error will occur when starting any GPU that has no settings defined. Also, Heat Control DOES NOT WORK on core 15 WUs, so it can't be used on Fermi cards. I will fix that error showing up in the next release.

Nope, I only got 1 gpu. I am also folding on a gtx 260. So Its not a core 15 WU. I get this problem all the time and it seems to come and go as it pleases. Just looking for a cure all.

I do not know if anyone has suggested this but could make it so there is a way we can choose what drive we fold on? I am suggesting this because I read that it is not so good to fold on a SSD.

This is very easy to do since the Tracker runs all the clients out of the folder it is set up in. Just move the Tracker's main folder onto your other HDD and run it from there.

I moved the folding @home folder does that mean that tracker will fold from there?

Just remember, the Tracker does NOT do anything to FAH clients installed manually. If you just moved the folder that the normal standalone FAH client uses then this won't do what you want. You have to move the folder that contains FAH GPU Tracker V2.exe.

This program is fantastic.  I have three systems with SSDs and they're all setup to fold.  I wanted to reinstall them so the working directory wasn't killing my SSDs and this program is going to save me a ton of time.  Setup my main system using a storage drive and just ran the executable and it did everything for me.  Created an xml and threw it up on my website and now I can setup some systems at work in like 2 minutes.

No need to reinstall it, just move the whole folder, it will work from where ever you decide to drag it to. Even a Thumb Drive.

Also make sure you have permission at work to fold on those systems. There are cases where people have gotten in deep trouble for "wasting" company resources, bandwidth, electricity, etc...

Version 3.39 stable has been released.

This version is mostly a bugfix release, but it does add one new feature. The passkey used for GPUs can now be set differently by using the -gpupasskey <passkey> command line flag. Specifying none for the passkey (-gpupasskey none) will cause the Tracker to use a blank passkey on the GPUs.

Ok, that's just plain messed up. There is no code in the Tracker that ever resizes that window. Try reinstalling it (by either moving the exe to a new folder or just deleting everything else.) If that doesn't work then I really don't what to tell you other than the problem is specific to your system configuration. If I can't reproduce the issue it's VERY hard to fix anything.

Hi,

I can't get Tracker to run my quad core Q6600 in SMP. Instead, it sees it only as a single core cpu. It sees my GPU OK.

I'm running Windows XP (x64).

The software runs fine on my other two systems, which have a Q9450 (Vista x64) and a Q9650 cpu Windows 7 Ultimate x64).

Is there an issue w/either the Q6600 or the operating system, XP (X64)?

Thanks
.

This is a known problem with how CPU detection is done under Windows XP. Use -nocpudetect to disable the CPU detection.

Since the last update None of my systems will run multiple gpu's.   On both my systems, the second gpu will unstable machine every time.  I had everything running fine but as soon as I updated to the  new version last week, I can only run one gpu per machine. I cannot find anything that would cause this.  Any suggestions?

So Jedi,
Whats the difference between game pausing and just shutting down that client when you game?
I tried using the game pause before but i don't think it actually paused anything.

Technically speaking it just stops the clients automatically, but setting the status to "Paused" in the interface clarifies that the client is only stopped temporarily. In 3.43 Gaming Pause could fail to detect games in several common circumstances. This has been fixed in 3.44.

The systray FAH clients actually pause the WU. The FahCore continues running but with 0% load. This can still cause lag in games though, since the data remains in RAM. This option is better if you only intend to stop folding for a few minutes, but shutting down the client completely makes more sense for gaming since most people will play games for more than 5 minutes at a time.

Fermi based GPUs handle this a lot better the the previous generations. I am not sure where I read this but Fermi GPUs are supposed to be able to context switch between compute and graphics 10x faster than GT200 based cards. This could also be due to core 15, which is used for all Fermi WUs.

Is there any way to change the status.xml file name to status2.xml while saving so I can have the stats of two or more computers on my web server, I thought about just saving them in different folders but I would rather keep everything in one.

Yes, you simply put the filename in the FTP server address box. You can't change the name of the local file, but in your case this doesn't matter.

Unfortunately I do not use the FTP server. I don't have a ftp server enabled only SFTP. I was using my local samba share to move the file over to my server. Does the tracker support SFTP?
