Hello purchased a rtx 2080ti kingpin and u am having problems getting memory to oc past +725, i can get to +750 but errors start, green dots, past +750 , green lines. Temps are 50-58c range. 7725mhz mem
Core clock Can go to +135, peak to 2190ghz settles to 2160 temps are at 50-55c
Oc switch on
Do i have a ok card or does it have issues.
I am using msi afterburner to oc, i don't like to use px1 it causes random gpu usage issues. (It's the program that's the problem) Fresh clean install of Windows

Memory gskill ripjaws 3600
Power supply evga 1200watts
Motherboard asus rog z390 I

I am trying for daily. I have a evga rtx 2080ti ftw3 the mem can go to 8100 mhzs +1100, core at 100 ghz 2100 temps are higher though 72-79c.
I am surprised that the kingpin can't do better on the memory it was supposed to be superior than the ftw3.

Using msi everything max

+1500 without bumping.:/ sucks.. try upping the voltage with the classified tool just to know if the mem needs more voltage.

I doubt evga will do anything since it runs its rated specs.:/

Water cooling will help a little though usually I've found with memory.

Maybe they .missed a thermal pad.. but it would suck to remove the pump/,block to find out.

The funny thing even in the xdevs guide tin is like it should easily hit 1000+ on memory. Lol

Are you using separate PCIe cables for Each power port on the card ?
 
If you MB has aux PCIe power port -- did you add power to it ?
 
What are your Temps ?  Room & hardware

New (like 2 weeks old) Evga supernova 1200p2 powersupply tried different vga power ports no change

Would switching to ln2 bios do anything I read that it removes thermal protection and raise the fan speed. What. Us the thermal protection that it removes?

Binning is a very specific process of choosing a die solely on asic quality. The kingpin dies are pre-tested to make sure they can sustain the higher clock, but they are not 'binned' in the traditional sense. No, switching to the ln2 vbios isn't going to help improve your memory overclock. Using the ln2 vbios removes thermal protection from the card... aka the card won't shutdown when the temp of the card exceeds 89c.

Tried the memory before the core, looks like if it can do it out of the box your golden if it can't good luck i can bump up the voltage but it doesn't want to go past +750

Overclocking both gives best results. Core gives more fps than mem.

Re install Windows.
You start off fresh with good drivers and software.
Only install minimal software to start with and then try upping your clocks for benching .
If it doesn't get higher after , that's as high as it goes .
If it goes higher, happy days and you can then install other software, games etc.

Don't know then .
It's a lot , lot lower than my card so something is amiss .
Have you tried precision ?
Run GPU-Z to see exactly what is doing at bench

Run kombustor at the same time as precision and you can alter your sliders live while the bench is running.

sounds almost unbelievable really... as it only comes with sammy chips and for those not be able to hit even 800..their bare minimum is 1000mhz and up...IS it sure to be samsung there tho.. what does gpu-z say in the memory tab?
