Just did another quick Port Royal benchmark after changing the Nvidia Control Panel power management mode to "prefer maximum performance." Here's the score and it's just a notch higher at 12,731 lol. http://www.3dmark.com/pr/702862
I did have steam, precision x1, core temp, hwinfor64, and chrome with 7 tabs open while running the benchmark.
i prefer to run precision x1 just once for the latest vBIOS update. Then i never run it again. (Don't let it run when Windows Starts.)
Just Shut down/Unplug PSU/use OC switch on GPU to have a more aggressive Fan Curve. See: following thread:
https://forums.evga.com/Physical-OC-Switch-on-GPU-m3122920.aspx don't run precision x1. The OC switch is perfect. And i LUV the default LED lights. So i don't need LED app to change it.
And yes, test with Chrome closed, and all others. BUT utilities for monitoring temps are cool (aok no pun). Especially on a second or third monitor. i have no prob with three screens running with most all Benchmarks. Always be safe by being aware of CPU temps, GPU temps and GPU Fan Speeds. here's what i monitor:
anything else than ^^ IMOHO isn't needed- IF all is well with one's PC and using it for addition diag and info is not necessary. And all those endless things HWiNFO64 can monitor and does by default should be Hidden/Disabled.
u may also be missing:
A. testing with just "Optimal Defaults" in MB BIOS.
B. testing with "Optimal Defaults" + "Memory EMP Settings Loaded". (ur system memory running below specs as reported in ur OP, Port Royal Test Link's System Specs? It is slower than my older RAM.)
C. testing with "Optimal Defaults" + "EMP Settings Loaded" + slight OC here and there.
BUT BE CAREFUL. Start by backing-up current BIOS. (And test reloading it and it successfully working.) Then, try ^^ (A.B. and C.). Because sometimes after several Drives have been added to a system over weeks and months and "Loading Optimal Defaults" it can be hard to get Boot order correct and successfully Booting in Windows. Maybe it's just me with two Operating Systems. idk
always be safe.
i never OC anything; so that no matter wat game i run; no matter how old or new it is; i know that OCing is not a factor as far as problem solving a game goes. i play many games. like i've heard Cyberpunk 2077 runs great on 3090 and not so much on low-end laptops and GPUs. So i'll be definitely trying it soon. won't have to change any OC setting. just DL and run it. a friend with over twenty years gaming but less than a 2080-ti says np running Cyberpunk 2077. just some little stuff. and they played it endlessly since it released.
