I dont mind the program, it opened my eyes to the fact that EVGA is a cool company and im very interested in the whole thing which is what they aim to accomplish

It was a response to the above question which was asked.  It was also a defense of the Elite program somewhat in that they sell directly from their site and reward loyal customers.  Any particular reason you replied to my post and none of the other off topic posts?

So what a great way to waste a lot of time.  Here I sit, with 7 years post graduate education, board certified in Emergency medicine, 20 years working in an inner city ER, trying to build a gaming rig.  I am going through my pictures mostly from my iPhone, converting to <500KB, and posting to a forum where I am hoping to get elite status because I cannot find a quicker way to get the GPU that I want without paying through the nose.  Either I am stupid, or the system encourages me to strive for something that I should know to avoid. Is it worth it?

I never use this forum and I'm an elite member. I was able to pick up my Kingpins and X299 Dark on day one. I like the idea of loyal customers getting the first pick of the litter on new high end releases.

Yes, but the internal debate continues.  I am sure I will look back on this and consider myself to have been foolish and impulsive.  And I will add this to the few, but memorable times I have been foolish.  Foolish and physician don't mix if you want to stay working.

Maybe not foolish and impulsive as you think, you only really need to buy a Combo Motherboard Graphics Card and you will be set.

In January before I decided to pull the trigger I was getting notifications pretty frequently that cards were back in stock, but haven't received any in the last week when I decided to go forward with a new build. What was the last time any cards were available to the Elite members, anyone get one that way?

I haven't seen any cards available exclusively for elite members since late december or early january. Something like that. Nearly every day -- or at least multiple times a week -- new video cards become available; none or them have required elite status.

Here is what I don’t get. Sure I’m here trying to get my 100 posts just so I can be Elite “ “ but the whole thing seems more like a video game grinding scheme than something that deters miners while also promoting a brand. Let’s be real, most 1080 TI cards are more or less the same. If I threw a gigabyte or ASUS in my box, I’m not sure I would notice such a big difference. But the warranty and customer service of EVGA may make a difference. Or what about their trade up program. Whatever it’s called. I guess what I’m trying to get at is that instead of building a wall with counts why not just make a test that people loyal to the brand could pass or maybe take a small e course about the products and differences between the cards. Pass the test and your in. At least that way the customers are getting educated, still a deterrent for miners, and EVGA gets the word out about their programs and technology. Seems like a better option all around.

New elite member without 100 posts. I have a few EVGA products and am impressed so i got on here registered my products.  Should i be an elite member? I dont know.  I have decided that i will only be purchasing EVGA products in the future after comparing small detaild they do differently with other products.  Not sure i should be considered "Elite" after few purchases but am definitely going to stay loyal to brand for future purchases given.  
 
Haven't been able the variant i wanted but did get a 1080.  Upgraded from gtx 770 windforce.

My previous GTX 780 didn't qualify - most of the cards that qualify for Elite are new enough you probably aren't desperate for another new card.
