wperry1151 Hey everyone...so fourth time was a charm. I got in line at Micro Center in Cincinnati this morning at 7:50. I was the first person in line. They ended up having one open box EVGA FTW3 Ultra 3080 and one open box EVGA FTW3 Ultra 3090. They also had 3 new ROG Strix 3090's. a couple of 3070's, and a few 3060ti's. I got the 3080...for $791, and the guy behind me got the open box 3090. So I guess I'm one of the lucky ones now! Good luck to everyone else that's on the hunt for one of these cards!
Congrats! I buy MC open box all the time. 9/10 times it's like new merchandise. Enjoy the 3080.
Thank you!

Anyone ordered 3080 from shopBLT? I was getting the similar infor like the 3060ti. The date keeps pushing back week by week. And could anyone please tell me if it is a legit store? Thanks in advance!

ftb28064212 I'm generally a fan of EVGA but, if you have to resort to this to get it to run the way you want, it's overpriced garbage.
It runs JUST FINE without those. Dabager is pushing the limits of the card and competing for some top numbers, I believe. The Kingpin/Hybrids, are absolutely top tier cards with or without any assistance from their owners. This is just for pushing it even further!
Yes this. I am trying to get the card to run as cool as possible while running a pretty decent little overclock - so every little bit helps. Hence while I'll be adding heatsinks to the backplate around where the VRMs are in a few days. It may only make 1-3C difference for those, but it's still something. The card already runs cool as it is, as an example, screenshot of the post-heatsinks PR run with temperatures on the right (maximums are the right column):
That's at stock clocks, and stock voltage (which is the voltage I pretty much run for the OC I'll be running) - so the temps might go slightly higher with the higher clocks, but not a lot. For a GPU that runs as hot as the 3090 can on air, those temps are swa.
You need to stick an old vapor chamber on the back of that card...

The issue with buying from a retailer like that isn't that the product might not be what it seems (it likely is), it would be that eVGA doesn't offer the same level of warranty from non-authorized retailers - meaning you'd be in a different warranty category, unable to extend your warranty, or purchase advanced RMA. Not positive, but I'm pretty sure it's the same as buying a card from EBay (unless it's directly from eVGA on EBay, which they aren't doing right now because of the low volume) in terms of how the warranty works. Read this for a bit more on the warranty stuff: https://www.evga.com/warranty/graphics-cards/ But basically if it's not an authorized retailer, you fall under the "second hand purchaser" section.

I don't know how and of if you are correct but these cards are so dear and hard to find I am making sure I get them from 'real' sellers Evga Amazon only if amazon is the seller Newegg B+H Best Buy are all I try or will try. Also I want to extend the 3 year to a 5 year on the kingpin and on the 3987 The 3987 I got from Newegg.

staypuft You need to stick an old vapor chamber on the back of that card... I thought about doing an AIO on the backside of the card TBH but the area that needs to be cooled is too wide, I'd need to get a Threadripper AIO to even have a chance of covering most of the area that's the backside vRAM & die areas - the heatsinks with an active fan blowing over them seems to be doing pretty well though, 4-6C reduction in vRAM temps & 1-3C in other areas, for what's going to add up to $36 in lil' heatsinks purchased, is pretty fair I think. Hopefully adding some on the back of the VRM areas will further reduce temps a bit. Keep in mind, on the face-side of the card, the Kingpin has the glorious copper-block of finned greatness and a smaller one on the other side of the die: I'll have to keep an eye out on people that later waterblock their card & see if any of them would be willing to sell me the stock copper heatsinks bits, thermal-taping those to the backplate would probably be pretty good... and it would look glorious.

Dabadger84 For those getting 3090s, I present to you, adding heatsinks to help keep the back of the card happy, phase 1:
This was waaaaaaaay more trouble than it looks like it shoulda been and not as much coverage as I was hoping to get out of the kit I bought, but... for those looking at 3090s specifically, I'd definitely recommend looking in to getting some heatsinks for the back of the card if you can. I have my card vertically mounted now, with a fan blowing on those lil' heatsinks, just ran a PR run to compare temps stock vs stock to an old run I did when I got the card: Mem1 & Mem2 are 4-6C cooler than the old run, and most of the other temps are 1-2C cooler across the board. I'm definitely going to be picking up another thing of heatsinks to put some over the VRM areas on the back of the card. The ones in the picture are applied via thermal tape, by the by. The whole kit, small as it was, only cost $11, so definitely worth it for that temperature reduction!
I'm generally a fan of EVGA but, if you have to resort to this to get it to run the way you want, it's overpriced garbage.

Well it was another "straggler drop" day. We've been getting so many of those that one person suggested we rename low-volume leftover days, "drop days" and days with new, significant drops as something...more epic. I am taking suggestions. My entry: tsunami drop days. As an aside, we are likely to see more stragglers as more and more "invite to purchase" emails are be sent to folks who have already obtained a gpu (through one channel or another) and have disengaged from the watch and queue efforts without cancelling their "auto-notify" registrations. But, the hope would be that new inventory is also reaching the queues so that the overall result is that substantially all of the queues are getting drops each day...unfortunately, we remain far from that reality. As of 5:00 pm PT Thursday afternoon, February 4, this is the status of the North American queues ( bolded font represents movement from the morning of Thursday, February 4; italicized parentheticals calculate the length of movement from the prior report): Card SKU Auto-Notify Timestamp / (Change from Previous Summary) Ultra3090 FTW3 Ultra 3987 10/12/2020 16 :23:29 3090 XC3 Ultra 3975 10/05/2020 20:52:00 3080 FTW3 Ultra 3897 09/19/2020 04:53:48 (02:28:33) 3080 XC3 Ultra 3885 09/18/2020 08:26:34 3070 FTW3 Ultra 3767 10/29/2020 21:16:43 (00:37:41) 3070 XC3 Ultra 3755 11/02/2020 16:11:43 (31:12:21) 3060 Ti FTW3 Ultra 3667 12/01/2020 07:08:53 Gaming3090 FTW3 Gaming 3985 09/24/2020 16:12:06 (03:32:04) 3090 XC3 Gaming 3973 09/24/2020 00:00:00 3080 FTW3 Gaming 3895 09/16/2020 00:00:00 3080 XC3 Gaming 3883 09/16/2020 11:01:20 3070 XC3 Gaming 3753 10/29/2020 00:00:00 3060 Ti FTW3 Gaming 3665 12/08/2020 13:44:00 3060 Ti XC3 Gaming 3663 12/01/2020 07:16:00 Black3090 XC3 Black 3971 09/24/2020 00:00:00 3080 XC3 Black 3881 09/16/2020 15:14:00 3070 XC3 Black 3751 10/29/2020 06:14:00 Hybrid 3090 FTW3 Ultra Hybrid 3988 12/10/2020 09:29:30 3090 XC3 Ultra Hybrid 3978 12/08/2020 14:19:07 3080 FTW3 Ultra Hybrid 3898 12/16/2020 09:03:37 3080 XC3 Ultra Hybrid 3888 12/10/2020 09:08:56 Hydro Copper (Delayed)3090 FTW 3 Ultra HC 3989 11/13/2020 00:00:00 3090 XC3 Ultra HC 3979 11/13/2020 00:00:00 3080 FTW3 Ultra HC 3899 11/13/2020 00:00:00 3080 XC3 Ultra HC 3889 11/13/2020 00:00:00 K|NGP|N (Queue sheet) 3998 12/16/2020 09:51:04 May your remaining wait be shorter than you anticipate; it is already longer than you deserve. lasttimei How is the memory temps now?
In Port Royal, 4-6C cooler on 2 of the 3 iCX memory readouts, 1-2C on the other memory readout, and so far in Cyberpunk 2077, with an ambient of 72F, highest I've seen for Memory Junction Temperature is 66C - compared to 74C before I put the heatsinks on. So for what is currently an $11 mod (with the heatsinks I have on, not counting the ones I have coming), definitely worth it. For Cyberpunk, the temps I got before at the settings I'm running were (at 70F ambient): GPU: 51C, GPU2: 53.9C, Mem1 63.9C, Mem2 66.1C, Mem3 51.4C, Mem Junction Temp 70C, PWR1 50.9C, PWR2 45.6C, PWR3 56.0C, PWR4 38.5C, PWR5 39.5C Now with the heatsinks currently on: GPU: 51C, GPU2: 53.4C, Mem1 55C, Mem2 62.7C, Mem3 50.1C, Mem Junction Temp 66C, PWR1 50.4C, PWR2 45.7C, PWR3 52.2C, PWR4 39C, PWR5 39.3C - and part of that was at higher clocks/voltage as well... with the higher ambient. So the card is definitely running cooler overall, especially in the areas near the heatsinks. Hoping those Power/VRM temps drop once I get sinks on those too.

Did you have to put thermal pads on the underside of the backplate

Updated that post with more info. There are Thermal Pads under the backplate of the Kingpin stock, on the vRAM chips & elsewhere, I think, which is why the backplate (which is rather thick metal compared to some other models) gets pretty darn warm under load. The heatsinks have thermal tape on them and are obviously doing a fairly good job in that area based on those temperatures going down despite my ambient being warmer. Here's the actual temp charts, before is at 70F ambient, with no memory OC & 2100MHz @ 1025mV set in the curve, after was run at +250 memory, 2160MHz @ 1068mV and 2100MHz @ 1025mV ran during the session: After heatsinks:

It has moved quickly, but the volume of the drops has not be great. Please keep in mind that the 11/1 and 11/2 were Sunday and Monday following Halloween.... While I do think the card will continue to move reasonably well, those two days might be outliers.... Let's hope not. Best of luck!

A lot of the queues are gonna fly once they get past the first day or so after launch, then they'll slow down again where the queue system was implemented - then they'll fly again after that, with the exception of the cards that launched after the queue system did, those will be weird.

philipma1957 nice psu a 1600 watt T2 I have the 1600 watt p2
Not my setup, it's just a picture I found to illustrate the copper block/heatsinks that are on the Kingpin under the shroud, they're a lot beefier than the regular hybrid card's heatsinks. My setup is lookin' dapper of late, looking forward to putting an open loop on the CPU though, this short-tubed ancient 280mm Thermaltake AIO is annoyingly limited in where I can put it, if it didn't run better temperatures than all 3 other AIOs I've tried on my CPU, I'd've already gotten rid of it. Amazingly, temps are pretty much the same while vertically mounted... think that has to do with it being plenty far enough away from the glass, has about 2-3 inches to breathe from, and I have the 200mm fan adjusted slightly to blow air up in that area so it's being fed freshly regularly.

Hi all, long time lurker, first time poster. I have a question to Jacob mainly, are online retailers getting any shipments of the 3898 cards in the foreseeable future? OR is the EVGA USA queue getting the first dibs for now? My local store where I pre-ordered the 3080 FTW3 Hybrid had only one initial shipment and nothing else after that. Just wondering if I should pull out of pre-order and hunt elsewhere.

Lets hope for some movement. Lunar holiday starts in a week. So if cards are put on a boat up to the 11th and take 10 days to arrive North America should not get lunar delays until Feb 22. I would love to see a lot of cards drop from now until the 22nd

3888 is getting more hopeless by the day. Evga got us all excited about hybrid drops around New Years for nothing...

Waiting anxiously for my 3751 notification but nothing yet.. must have been a small drop as I'm down to less than a minute at this point. Started entering the newegg shuffle and I won an AMD 5600x cpu but I didn't pull the trigger, also put in for like 5 other 3070 cards but didn't get any of them. The wait continues....
