Dabadger84 I've been telling people for months, since the 30-series first launched and rumors started of the 3080 Ti etc after AMD's card performance was leaked that there's absolutely no way NVidia would release a refresh & undercut their own profit margins etc in January... looking more and more like I was right. At the earliest, they're more likely to be in April-June.
Yeah, I reckon a 3080ti would have been around $1200 before the recent price hikes. Now? Either they postpone it or put it at the old 3090 price while the 3090 settles around $2000.... Its not like you could actually buy an AMD $999 6900XT card anywhere.

viper809 I was really looking forward to Monday, I was almost positive I was going to receive a email. It has moved everyday even if its just a few minutes. But nope, they know I want to buy it so they are holding it off.
Me too... Me and 5 other homies are like within 30 seconds to 1 min of eachother on for the 3080 Ultra XC3 Hybrid

We have about 26 minutes left until the shipping cut off for today. Maybe, juuuust maybe, they're waiting to send the emails out until after that passes so that the cards wouldn't ship out until tomorrow, for whatever reason that may be (heavy dose of RMAs shipping out today, who knows). We shall see... once we pass that cut off I'm gonna go do some things then check my email one more time before I settle in to watch the College Championship, hoping for a nice back & forth game between two teams that are always neat to watch. Expecting a Tide win, kinda hoping the Buckeyes pull off the upset. Edit: on top of all the other price changes etc, this happened today: https://www.evga.com/articles/01470/evga-z590/

As long as it's a good game & not a blowout, I'll be happy. After the Steelers/Browns game last night, I think our "crazy game start" for the week is over with & this one will be closer. It's crazy when the first play of the game leaves you going "What the (expletive) did I just witness?" lol Lookin' like today is gonna be a no-drop :( Hopefully the typical bigger drops on Tuesday & Thursday hold true.

I agree. While the EVGA announcement about pricing was awesome news, I really have to wonder what the heck is going on with the production of these cards? Where are they all going??!! Direct to scalpers? Miners? It's crazy because even though I'm not sitting here hitting "F5" all day, it doesn't seem like any of the retail outlets (e.g., BB, NE, Amazon, etc.) are getting any stock, either. I thought for sure things would improve after the Holidays. Is there a bigger issue at hand? In all my many years building PCs, I've never seen anything like this. Crazy. And sad.

I hate the fact that graphics cards are used in bitcoin mining. Long time gamer and I really wanted to push some games with the 3080. There's no end in sight to this queue though! Though, one of my most hated groups of all time... is scalpers. It's so scummy.

The problem is that there's a shortage on the silicon I believe, so even if they want to ramp up production for GPUs, there aren't enough silicon to make the dies. A Massive Chip Shortage Is Hitting the Entire Semiconductor Industry - ExtremeTech

There's a shortage on GPU dies that has been going on for months because of COVID & other issues, and there was/is (not sure if it's still going on) a shortage on the chiplets they use for vRAM as well, which is why AMD cards are also in short supply, they were compounded by supply being siphoned by consoles on top of that chiplet shortage. As I went over a few pages back, NVidia really showed their lack of foresight & logic with this launch given how demand was on the 20-series launch, and the fact that these 30-series cards they knew FULL WELL would be in super-high demand because the 3080 ate the 2080 for breakfast, yet they still thought "oh this puny supply will be fine" in an economy & global situation where PC parts are in the highest demand ever seen. Utter incompetence at the highest level. You really cannot blame eVGA for this very much at all, and at least they tried to make the best of a garbage situation by implementing the queue system.

They probably cannot release much information about all this because it's under the cover of "if you reveal this information NVidia may bat you upside the head" meaning lower the yield allocated to said AIB or worse. Let's just hope the information from last week that we "should" get a 3080 & 3090 Hybrid drop as well as some Kingpins this week was accurate. If we can at least get back to the regular-drop pattern that was going on most of the December where at least most SKUs (that have moved, at all) got at least one drop every other week, it will at least get things moving again.

I needed a new GPU around September, as mine decided it didn't want to see CP 2077. I've been building my own rigs for 20 years, but i'm long past my days of reading any piece of tech news i could get my hands on, so i only pop my head into it when the time comes. It came at the cusp of the new gen, great I thought! Then there wasn't any supply to speak of, at that's the truth of it, there certainly is high demand, but the supply is choked, even more so for TMSC. There is no way either NVIDIA or AMD didn't have this projected when they launched. But anyway, I thought it rational that supply should start to move easier for Nvidia in the next couple of months, so i'm here. Props to EVGA for implementing a Que. By far the most consumer friendly thing to do in the present. I'm in it now, as i wasn't aware of it before, and hope my magic ball is right about supply picking up. Honestly i think those wanting a big Navi board in the next few months are going to struggle.

Dear Customer,
Due to ongoing events, EVGA has made price adjustments on the GeForce RTX 30 Series products. This change was necessary due to several factors and will be effective January 11, 2021. EVGA has worked to reduce and minimize these costs as much as possible.
For those who are currently in the EVGA.com Notify Queue system or Step-Up Queue, EVGA will honor the original MSRP pricing through April 16th, 2021 if your purchase position is processed before this date.
Thanks, EVGA
EVGA, thank you for doing this. That is very nice of you. I don't know if I will have mine by April, but those who do will greatly benefit from you honoring the original MSRP. Thank you for looking out for us!
