Scalper prices are getting ridiculous. Now Walmart is selling through third parties at exorbitant prices!@!

Walmart isn't selling through third parties LOL.

Those are sellers trying to sell through Walmarts website.

Nereus what do you mean AGAIN?  some of us will STILL be here

Your pessimism is going on your permanent record.

Trust the queue; “This is the way.”

Sure as hell beats letting the scalper bots handle distribution!

It seems like 3080 production is generally slowing to a crawl for all manufacturers.  NowInStock shows just how sparse 3080 restockings have been all month, while it seems like I get an alert for 3090s or 3070s every few hours.  Really makes me wonder WTH is going on with 3080 production.

I bet production yields of the 3080s is pretty bad which then go into making the 3070s. I'd also imagine the profit margin is probably a lot tighter on the higher end SKUs so it probably makes sense to manufacture more 3070s.

Wasn't their rumors that Nvidia was switching from Samsung 8nm to TSMC 7nm in the new year?

Maybe they started early and we going to get the revision model...

Im just speculating but, i think personally production is slowing due to the holidays.

My understanding is that the profit margin is higher on the higher end SKUs. Also the 3070s are a different chip than the 3080s so the production of one shouldn't have an impact on the other.

I'm hoping Step Up will be a thing for the 3080 Ti when I get my 3080. I can wait for that if I already have a 3080.

I don't know where some of you guys getting the information that it will "drop-in December" or "I saw the list and I'm next in queue"
I mean there's no updated information, no email notification, people just hoping and wishing for the 3080/3070 assuming it's around the corner...

I'm seeing no light at the end of the tunnel and I feel we're stuck in the twilight zone... I see people selling 5-6 Boxes of 3080's on eBay with 20 to 35 already Sold?! How is that even possible for a person to have so many GPUs?! Making a 400-600 profit per GPU - These people have to be from the inside, Microcenter, BestBuy, Newegg, Evga, Walmart, Amazon, etc.

I'm about to go into 3 Months on the queue and nothing.... It's getting to the point that I will have to go on eBay to get this FN GPU!

Don't give in to EBayers mate.

Update on my 3090 FTW3 Ultra I bought off Walmart at MSRP...

So I told my gf (we've been together 4 years, living together 1.5 years, trying for a baby) about it and she was okay with it. She's awesome. I still want to get my 3070 email and step up to a 3080 or find a 3080 FTW3 Ultra in the F5 wild...but I think if I can't do either of those by Dec 4th then I am gonna slap that 3090 in my case and call it a day

Girlfriend doesn't know about the engagement ring I bought last week for when we go back home for Christmas next month....

Congrats on the wife!  What a great Christmas you two will have!

I took the time to explain this earlier. There is no such thing as an “official spreadsheet”. You are going to get yourself even more confused.

There is no official spreadsheet.  There are a few unofficial ones.  The original -- and I continue to believe the best -- is the one at the bottom of my signature block (below).  Again, these are imperfect tools and have been badly compromised by past hacks and/or the lock downs restricting the ability for folks to easily edit, correct or submit their information.

The unofficial notify list is in enewt's signature. Have a quick look through this thread for an explanation of how it's meant to be viewed. It basically gives you a general idea of what day and time in the queue is receiving checkout notifications from evga.

When are we going to be able to buy an evga 3090 card from evga I've signed up to all the notifications not had anything yet, now they show off the hydro copper ftw3 3090 any info on these coming to Europe this side of Christmas?

I would say 0%.  And that's being optimistic.

According to sources, the base SKU 3080s are almost no profit at all for the makers, NVidia trying to force AIBs to make "MSRP" cards results in them making almost no money off of said SKUs.  These GPUs are not cheap to make, especially considering the AIBs are having to make their own PCBs because NVidia's own "Founders Edition" is NOT a reference PCB, it's custom.

So the profit margins on base model 3080s are utter garbage.  The 3090 I'm sure is a higher profit margin even with all those RAM chiplets etc added on.  Keep in mind, most AIB 3090s are the same PCB as the 3080 just with stuff added on that's "missing" from the 3080 model, which is why most 3080 PCBs have multiple "empty" vRAM spots etc.

It might even be possible that the 3070 has a better profit margin than the 3080, since the PCB is much more basic etc.

Gamers Nexus was saying that the profit on the base 3070s was essentially nil.

That wouldn't surprise me either.  It really seems like NVidia was trying to squeeze the AIBs here by manufacturing their own custom PCB etc in house to cut costs down & setting an MSRP that no one else can really match if they want to make money.  Especially given that the Founders Edition cards aren't utter garbage this time around, especially the 3090 performs very well thermally.  And it looks sick.  If I were getting any other model besides eVGA my second choice would be Founders, on both the 3090 & 3080... 3070 looks a bit odd cuz it's so smol.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was talk around the AIBs about how Nvidia might be trying to push them out of the market.

Gamers Nexus was saying that the profit on the base 3070s was essentially nil.

No RMA as 80&90, so there must be a profit margin. No one make products with no earning. Don't trust Steve's every word.

It sounds like at least a few cards dropped in the 3090 FTW3 Ultra line.  Latest date/time stamp is 7:19:59 pm on 10/6.  If you are before that -- or near that -- please check your in-box.  Good luck!!!

Steve did say that this might have been the AIBs trying to put pressure on Nvidia to raise their price for the Founders Edition to some extent. I doubt it's zero or negative otherwise they wouldn't be making it but it probably is very slim though.
