Well I was in line at my local MC and somehow snagged a rtx 3080 TUF (originally line up for the Ryzen 5900x), I have mixed feeling now as I want a FTW3 Ultra, I don't know what to do now

From the reviews, it is a decent card.  Bummer about the 5900x...did they have any Ryzen 5000x series?  Those things are darn near impossible to find too.

Edit: Wait, did you get the 5900x too?

We wont know until we know arock,  There are also reports that the moon is made of cheese and that pigs can talk

If someone came up to me and asked me to bet on whether or not AMD stock on new GPU's would do any better on launch day, I would 100% bet not.

If the CPU's were selling this hot, imagine an actual high demand item

By the the time i my turn comes up 3080 ultra gaming the 3080 TI  will probably be out. and the delay has allowed time for AMD to catch up Radon RX 6800  to hit the streets

It's also possible AMD intentionally limited their 5000 CPUs to make room for Big Navi, knowing there would be a MUCH bigger demand for GPUs over CPU.

EDIT: That's pure speculation on my part.  That's what I would do if I were in charge of AMD and saw what happened to nVidia.

if I were AMD, I would have delayed coming to market to hit HARD instead of light... they have a huge opportunity here to come off as the dominant brand, if they play it right

Badger, do you ALWAYS use jokes like that?  or is it just periodically?

Das not a joke, I'm legit P-Oed about this lol

Also, if I gnab a 6800XT before I get a Hybrid card, all bets are off.

The TUF is a good card.  Could always see if someone's willing to do a trade for the TUF + some cash for a 3080 FTW3 Ultra - No I'm not interested :-P lol my card works and I'm stickin' with it hard enough that I may end up slapping a Hybrid cooler on it myself.

Their CPU supply has also been split, keep in mind, between consoles & their own PC releases, that's part of why the initial batches are not what some might have expected.

Still think im more likely to get a 6800xt

Thought has crossed my mind as well.

Nvidia doesn't seem to care if their loyal customers are waiting or not.

There have been reports of the 6800XT being delivered in single digit quantities to retailers.

I don't think it'll be likely, because plenty of people seem to be hyped which means the bots will be slurping them up again.

Yep, I hate to break it to you guys (no seriously... I hate it) thinking you're gonna be able to just browse on over to an online retailer tomorrow and casually pull the trigger on a 6000 series AMD card, but that stock is going to go just as fast as the NVIDIA 3000 series did. Scalpers - they are snagging up everything from NVIDIA cards, toilet paper, sanitizing wipes, paper towels, and isopropyl alcohol to PS5's, XBOXs and yes, RADEON cards will be included as well. Retailers are letting them do it too, cause money talks and BS walks. Most of them anyway, some, like the valiant EVGA, are trying make things more fair for us. Of course it's nothing new, but it seems COVID has given a lot more people ideas on how to cash in on other people's wants and needs.

Unless you wanna sit around and hit F5 until you have nightmares about it, you are much better off waiting in this queue... of course there's a "chance" you MIGHT get lucky. Who knows!? I say, if you would be happy with an RX 6800 XT or 6900, go for it man! Just don't bank on it m'kay?

I for one can't express strongly enough how much I appreciate what EVGA is doing here with this queue. I feel it is my only chance of getting an RTX 3080 before they are obsolete without paying some PoS scalper $2,000 USD for one, which I refuse to do. I prefer EVGA products for various reasons anyway.

And to those like enewt who are posting their Associate Code for us to use as well.

I think if that were me, I would just go home, install it, game on and enjoy the fact that I actually had an "ice cube's chance in hades" of buying ANY 3080 card.

Anyway. Good luck folks, hope the queue for all cards start really moving and everyone gets what they want... eventually. I'm at 9/19 2AM PST, so at the moment, I still have hope that I'll get my chance before Cyberpunk 2077, but we'll see!

Peace

I'm about 20 away, so I'm hoping for more this week. Early last week was good the the 3090 FTW3 Ultras, but looking a bit slower since then.

This entire thread is making me glad I jumped on that used 2080Ti when I did. I'd love to have a 3070 (or even a 3080), but this whole process has been depressing.

Oh for sure.  The next 2-3 weeks are going to another chaos-show, but I think we'll decent AMD stock by mid December, where you'll be able to get an AMD card 1/2 hour to 1 hour after a stock drop.
Or maybe that's my wishful thinking after getting burned, and burned hard by this RTX 3k launch.

I think of myself as a pretty optimistic guy...I've got nothing on you.    I don't think either family of gpu (or AMD's cpu) sees real inventory, available at retail to the masses until after the holidays (i.e., 2021). I really hope I am wrong and you are right, however.  #KeepTheFaith

In some respects, we are all engaging the the activities that comprise the definition of insanity, right?  Or, perhaps, insanely F5-ing the night away is what brought us here.  I hit a low point last Friday when I was expecting a drop or two and nothing but crickets filled our in-boxes; this week has been better...but it can always be even better (EVGA, ya listening?)....

If I ever get over getting snubbed for an early Notify on the Hybrid 3080 I'm sure I'll get burned all over again by being so bad in the queue when it goes live for good that I'll end up getting a Hybrid kit, then later buying a Hybrid card anyway for the warranty...

The things I do for a fully AIOed build...

Just imagine, a 420mm AIO on the CPU, 240mm AIO on the GPU... fans all at like half speed so whisper quiet, not significant heat being generated inside the case except maybe by the CPU VRM/M.2s, which I'll have fans over...

Not that I care about quiet, persay, but it'd be cool to have a quiet build that's also got great temps, but isn't a fully custom looped setup.

That Arctic 420mm AIO is going to either be a great buy, or a horrible idea, depending on how that pump handles that extra tube length & radiator size.

Also, what do you think the outlook is that I'll get a card in 2020? If it's slim, I'll just hold out for the 3080 TI, haha.

... and it's looking like no email today for the RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra .... Cue sad trombone.  Well, there's always tomorrow to be dissipointed again.

it's in stock now if you want it, https://www.newegg.com/ev...7-kr/p/N82E16814487526 as of 3:43 EST
edit:: sold out, was there 30 seconds though, long enough to quickly checkout

Quick...hit F5.

Seriously, patrickisfrench, thanks for trying to help out!  It is appreciated.

But the disappearance of the unit(s?) almost immediately continues to prove the point that EVGA has really tried with these queues to give us a fighting chance.  Let's keep at the hunt, through all channels available to the extent our little F5 fingers can handle it.  Good luck to everybody!

Unfortunately, the spreadsheet is locked down such that we cannot add folks anymore – folks have to do it themselves. If you are so inclined, here is the link to the form to submit your date/time stamps to the spreadsheet:

          https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdZaiFAXqnuhyXfpR7muIyWa9HvQpnhdTWjjGvmObkakpqZnQ/viewform

The form doesn’t always work and recently folks have reported not being able to add themselves. That is why I currently recommend that rather than add yourself to the spreadsheet that already has a good number of data points and is tracking the front of the queue reasonably well, it is far easier to instead refer to the spreadsheet and compare it to your personal auto-notify date/time stamps to get a rough estimate of how far away is the front of the line.

Unfortunately, given that your date/time stamps are almost three weeks into October or in November (the 3881 sku is also weeks away from your 10/6 date), you have an extended wait ahead of you through the queue process (likely into 2021).  I am sorry I do not have better news.
