sethleigh It's interesting that the 3080 FTW3 Ultra HydroCopper is only backed up to June 23, 2021. That's only 20 days before my own date. Now the question is whether they do these in batches and we won't see more HydroCoppers for another few months, or whether this could actually move along fairly soon.
the 3899 queue? I thought this one was first opened up on that date - meaning, that this queue has only moved 15 seconds since it was opened up a month ago?

Yes, as is the case for other recent "debuts" to the queue system

Hopefully this doesn't stir up a hornets nest, but I also have 2 cents. When I did realize that, I removed the 3881 and 3883 notifies because I didn't want them and didn't want to delay them to someone else. I passed on the 3897 and 3885 because I had a 2080 Super and figured I didn't "need" one of those as much as others might. Following the timeline, you can see that I eventually decided that this was going to last a while and should try to put myself on the list for a hybrid I actually wanted (3898). After sitting on that and the 3895 that a friend wanted (they didn't know it would be like this either so they didn't sign up in time to get anything...not that I've gotten that notify....pretty sure they bought something else, so that'll be removed soon too). The 3989 notify was done to test the queue #, back when those existed. I signed up for it right before the z590 FTW launched, to try and get an idea how many people signed up for it (so I could count the #'s, etc.). I removed my notify after because I didn't want it and wanted it to go to the next person without the 1-day delay. Then the 3080 ti's finally launched and I had decided that I wanted a card sooner than later and I signed up for most of them. I later decided that I could in fact accommodate a HC card, but signed up for those too late. I eventually decided I'd settle for the 3967 (plus hybrid kit if available) or 3968, whichever came first. My 3967 came up last week and the hybrid kit was available, so the card sans-hybrid-kit (Windows problems preventing me from converting to GPT, which prevents me from flashing vBIOS, which is preventing me from putting the hybrid kit on) is in my computer. I have now removed all other notifies except for the 3968 and two HC cards that I kept on there as "backups" (if you look at the times...I'll never get those HC's lol) in case something went wrong with my 3967. Once I have done enough testing to be confident I'm keeping this 3967 (if I can sort this Windows issue it'll go faster), those will be removed as well. So, Looking at this list, there are two cards I'm not interested in that I still haven't hit that "remove notify" button for. The 3895 and 3898. I think those are two of the best bang/buck cards that exist right now. If I actually got an email for one, I would ask the few remaining friends I have that didn't get some card via an alternate method if they want it. Is there anything wrong with that? No. Most people didn't have a chance to hit the notify buttons when I did. Do I deserve the card more than them? Not really. So if I wanted to help a family member or friend out, at cost, I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I think scalping should be punished, but in order to do that, they'd have to change the terms of service to indicate that and it could only take effect on future purchase after they did that. All we can do at this point is frown on it (big frown...huge). It makes me mad too and I hate it, but it isn't illegal or against the rules. It just indicates an individual either has a lack of morals or is in a desperate financial situation (even with that said, there are better ways to make money that don't involve lowering yourself to that level). The only reason I wanted to post this is to show that some of us are in fact removing our notifies for cards we don't want to make sure we don't slow down the queue. At the same time, I'm in no way saying that it is the only good option. If I bought one and then sold it (at cost) to someone I know is a gamer that is going to use it for gaming and doesn't have another way to get one, that's for me to decide. If they're a gamer, and the next person on the queue is a gamer, they're both gamers. One of them got a card first, I'm not upset either way. What if the next person on the queue is planning to scalp it? How would I know? Maybe I got it into the hands of a gamer before a scalper. There'd be no way for me to know that and honestly, it doesn't change anything. Keep your notifies...or remove your notifies, do whatever you need to do that makes you comfortable with your decision. Just don't be a scalper because nobody's going to give you a pass on that.

Wow, 3897 is chugging along , I felt if they would get anything , that the time from the 21st until 10/5 should have not been as brutal as it has been since January. There were still cards leaking out on Ebay but the Sku was dead for a long period .

This morning’s intro story – how to properly pronounce “EVGA” (per my daughter, “Ev-Ga” is the official pronunciation of amphibians everywhere) – kicked off a conversation in the EVGA forums, which got me thinking about the following... (warning adult language ahead). You know those expressions or sayings that occur in family life that somehow become a mantra or “the saying for [family vacation X] or [Holiday Season Y]” – something that slips out that is instantly memorable and yet totally appropriate within context of the specific situation in which they were first uttered? My family has a bunch of them; most of ours involve when we were sailing off the coast of Southern California when I was a kid. One of our most family-famous snippets of dialog came to mind today, and since I have a captive queue audience, I thought I’d share it… My parents, my best friend and I (versions 16.5 give or take) were sailing just out of sight of the coast of Southern California. There was not a lot of wind, so it was slow going. But we refused to turn on the engine. We were getting pretty stupid in the sun, each reading a book, staring out at the horizon or just doing nothing in particular. It was a little before lunch time and I was hungry…very hungry. Not quite in my right head, I uttered the now family-infamous words, “I’m f&cking ravenous.” Without skipping a beat, my every-Sunday-church-attending mom, at the wheel of the boat, uttered, “You’re f&cking who?” To which my dad, wide-brimmed hat down over his face, half asleep in the cockpit, with his characteristic perfect timing, said “Love, the proper question is, ‘You’re f&cking whom?’” It is more than thirty years later, my dad’s ashes were spread on the ocean years ago, and yet my mom, my high school friend, and my brothers (who were not there but have heard it retold time-and-time again) still laugh with every retelling. It is a snippet of dialog that captures an era in my life’s story that felt important and dramatic, yet somehow lacked urgency or any true sense of the passage of time. One of my brothers included it in his speech at my wedding. And it was perfect. Hopefully this weekend finds you making memories that last a lifetime…or at least uttering something that brings a smile decades later. Get to it…weekends are a scarce resource; they aren’t making more of them. P.S. The 3897-KL stormed through the remaining timeline and has now entered the queue announcement registration congestion window of October 5 and 6. EVGA made the queue announcement at approximately 7:30 pm PT on October 5. News reports about the queue hit online later in the evening of October 5 and, more broadly, on the morning of October 6. Expect this queue to slow to a crawl now that we are in the part of the timeline when the world is first learning that EVGA is trying to help out gamers and pc enthusiasts through the establishment of the queue. The queues are not perfect...the past ten months have demonstrated that...but it is, in my opinion, a lot better than the alternatives (or lack thereof) offered by other AIBs. Be safe and have a great weekend! I fear the -KRs (after an initial pop to clear their inventory) are now dead queues. I am considering actually putting them in a gray font to indicate unlikely to move in any material way for the foreseeable future. I am really sorry I don't have better news on this front, but I think those queues are in the deepest part of this gpu desert.

I think a bunch of us did the same, when we started seeing people getting jumped in line after the initial emails went out that they were switching to LHR skus. Stupid us, they did state in the email that it was not recommended route to take.

3897 notify received but my interested parties aren't interested in spending MSRP + tax + shipping for a card. My brother in law said "I only spent $370 for the 980Ti and this isn't even a Ti." I'm starting to think that people who ask for help generally don't deserve it.
So there willl be at least one straggler on Monday.

Good story enewt... That reminds me of an aunt of mine describing a particularly ugly cactus of hers as gnarly, except she pronounced it "guh-nar-lee". I was about 10 and I started cracking up, which lead my dad to lose it too. No one else there knew what we were laughing at, and my aunt definitely did not realize. It's been an inside joke between my dad and me now for 30+ years. About once every few years, one of us will refer to something as "guh-nar-lee" and we will both share a good laugh. It's truly those sorts of things that a family remembers and shares.

nomoss 3897 notify received but my interested parties aren't interested in spending MSRP + tax + shipping for a card. My brother in law said "I only spent $370 for the 980Ti and this isn't even a Ti." I'm starting to think that people who ask for help generally don't deserve it.
So there willl be at least one straggler on Monday.
A snowmobile cost around $100 in the 70's. Inflation increases the cost of everything, even faster than wages it feels like. The global events of the last couple years has made things even worse. Doesn't mean we have to like the price increases, but things cost what they cost to make and everyone needs to put food on the table. It's pretty easy to forget that as we all get wrapped up in the daily grind.

Thanks for the kind words and for the story! That's awesome! In related news, I inadvertently left a draft of the story up on my laptop when I went to the kitchen. Daughter (ver 9.X) has been smiling at me and mouthing "whom" ever since. I think I messed up. Now, if only Mrs. enewt doesn't hear about this...and if enewt Jr. can just forget what she read.... In terms of infamous family sayings, I am afraid I just created "an instant classic."

That's some massive movement on the OG 3080 FTW3 Within 24 hrs now, even though i've hit the second wave wall. Here's hoping. I'd prefer the Ti over the OG model, but also will be happy to purchase that, cancel any remaining notifies, and register it for a step up program instead. Glad I decided to stick with the KL sku shift.

The button on your notifies page says "permanently" so I am kind of doubting it. But you might try calling customer service to see if they will make an exception. Best of luck!

Hypodermics Did I read that correctly he had to wait around 10 months to get his card?
Yes many people are waiting from September these are my early dates and pretty sure I never see any of them since I do not want kl cards I want kr evga 3080 3885-kr 10/7/2020 7:03:40 AM PT evga 3080 3883-kr 10/7/2020 7:02:55 AM PT evga 3080. 3881-kr 10/7/2020 7:02:16 AM PT evga 3080. 3897-kr 10/7/2020 7:02:01 Am PT evga 3080. 3895-kr. 10/7/2020 7:00:23 AM PT

Please note that EVGA strongly recommends against opting out, because there is no ETA for availability and no guarantee that your order will be fulfilled for your original part number. Moreover, once you opt out, you may neither request to be placed back in the queue for 10G-P5-3897-KL, nor request an order notification for 10G-P5-3897-KL; you may only be in one queue at a time

enewt I fear the -KRs (after an initial pop to clear their inventory) are now dead queues. I am considering actually putting them in a gray font to indicate unlikely to move in any material way for the foreseeable future. I am really sorry I don't have better news on this front, but I think those queues are in the deepest part of this gpu desert.
I think your right, as usual. When I signed up for the 3080 Ti I forgot to cancel the 3080 FTW (3897). When they switched it to KL I changed it back to KR just as a test. However, I would have taken it and cancelled the Ti if it had worked. But now I know it (the 3897) is never coming and that's ok because I really want the Ti or even a 3090. Your story was great, Enewt. Thank you for sharing and for the good laugh. I actually LOL'd.
