Any cracking this lhr thing?
Whether it ends up making nvidia be a poor mining card and helping amd out is not part of this thread. Since my use will include mining and many other things including some gaming the LHR cards have less value to me than a gaming purist. I only want to let go of my cards on the queue list that are LHR info from evga allows me to drop them off the list. I am not sure where to ask but this is the queue tread so I asked. And I won't be signing up for new cards that are specifically marked LHR. So the 3080ti and the 3070ti if clearly marked LHR won't get signed for by me. I simply want clarity of the product I am queueing up for.

As far as I am aware the 3060 ti, 3070, and 3080 are all seeing LHR refresh. This will be seen on all AIB manufacturers, but not FE cards. I have also heard from GN that from AIBs will have a breif time where LHR and non LHR models will overlap, then the LHR models will be the only ones available. EVGA is expected to release LHR models and possibly migrate those who are on the non LHR queues to them.

To those that flag me as spam when I am trying to help gamers get their cards ahead of me at no extra cost to them get a life.
Just came back to this thread after more than a week, so no idea what's currently going on, buuuut if you wanna help me get my card ahead of next year, I would appreciate it (: And regarding LHR, I just hope I can still play around with parallel generic hashing algorithms. I know ethereum uses sha256 in some fashion, but so do maaaaany other things. Fingers crossed that LHR will gimp the mining specific routines but not generic hash calculations. That's probably asking too much though.

The way I understand it, NVIDIA will not be shipping any non-LHR chips going forward except for the 3090. Ergo, what few chips are currently in the pipeline will be it for non-LHR chips.

Straying a bit off topic again, but if we get LHR variants of non Ti in the near future, someone suggest to Gamers Nexus to benchmark compute shader & WebGPU/WebGL performance vs regular cards. Libraries that offload processing to GPU might get kneecapped if Nvidia is too aggressive with nerf.

You aren't alone with concerns of non-mining workloads being affected by the limiters. My guess nVidia's response would be "just buy a Quadro then", as they seem obsessed with profit-maximized market segmentation.

I would not give up. Most people are in the same situation. While you are waiting on the queue, you could try Best Buy or Micro Center if you live near one and don't mind camping out the evening before they have a drop.
People have signed up for every SKU and some of us, like me, for just one specific card. It will eventually happen, you just have to be patient.

She has no kids and only 2 nephews and 1 niece(me and my brother and sister), niece is dumb as hell and wont stop screwing up lol, other nephew is like whatever, and I helped aunt move out of old home into new home, spending alot of time last year driving for several hours at a time to new house to help get everything straightened out and settled in. Also she is retired and: A) Paid off mortgage several years AFTER retiring B)Good with money and saved all her life lol C)Bought Escalade(Used with 27K miles and 2017 model so not exactly cheap) right before pandemic hit D)Likes to spoil me, but grills my $ss about saving money myself

Yeah, I know. I'm not a fan either. Like I said, a friend asked for help and I was able to come through for them. I got in right away. They all got stuck in the queue and got to watch the stick figure walking in place. ~edit I guess I will sit tight until June and hope that we get another 3898 drop then. I'm not crazy enough to think that we will see drops in consecutive weeks. 90 seconds away.

Well , Monday lets hope for more cards, Ebay numbers are up but prices are still stupid but it is not always horrible with people getting ripped off, just use common sense and deal only with experienced buyers and sellers,

hope there is some backlash against nvidia for gimping those cards. I am not concerned about miners , nvidia is gimping these cards to prevent any future use as well, they are simply protecting their own market.

ebay prices should be dropping only stupid or rich miners would pay those prices might be some gamers buying them up also still that cant wait and have deep pockets. I have got offers of 500 off some cards that i looked at so scalpers are feeling some pain.

EVGA themselvs might not but whoever gamestop uses as there distributor probly does and evga sends so many cards to them by contract and they choose who gets what likely services mutiple stores.
