From what I understand, it will be a silent adoption by way of modification of GPU die and drivers/firmware

guys, can I ask you how to find out the status of EVGA, my case? A queue dropped out, but due to technical problems I could not have time to smoke (the EVGA website did not work). My email address is 370089900@mail.ru Or should I not wait for help and the restoration of the queue at 3060?

Does anyone know if the 3897 drops have been redirected to the step-up queue? I’ve heard people say that, but I’m not sure if it’s true. If that’s the case, they are probably going to prioritize that queue for a long time, which means I’m just gonna wait for a 3080ti.

I mean the point of the queue is to be able wait. Which were gonna do regardless. Just make sure when the notifications open up, queue for the most expensive model first.

They say the Chip is different , I bet its going to be about 100$ per 1% of performance increase

enewtThe EVGA Queue system is the worst way to purchase a 30 series gpu except for all of the others. This statement valid only if you were aware of launch and signed up immediately when queue opens. In other cases... many people who was "late to the party" will never get their cards - it will be discontinued before queue will be fulfilled.
Unfortunately my mobile device doesn't honor my blocks, so I saw this one...and have to respond. Which launch are you talking about? The launch on September 17, September 24, the launches in October, November, December, February? You didn't know about any of them? Not sure that is EVGA's fault. Oh, and name a better system for a 30 series? Best Buy? Newegg's shuffle bundles? eBay? My mistake is that I set my target on one sku -- that's my mistake. What was yours?
Enewt, as much as you're the ultimate bro, and I absolutely have your back here, I have but one feeble dispute to level against your statement: The answer is Best Buy and Newegg are both significantly better than the queue for every single person that has been able to buy an MSRP (or near MSRP) GPU there before their turn has come up in the queue, and that is thousands and thousands of people. I was able to buy my CPU from Best Buy LONG before anywhere else had meaningful stock of the 5900X. So for me, the Best Buy system has been a blessing. "Better" is entirely about perspective. Human with spear vs. lion? Better to be the human. Human without spear vs. lion? Better to be the lion. Human vs. newt? Better to be the human. Human vs. enewt? Enewt, OF COURSE!

exzzy I had idea of making electric guitar once, then i saw that what pain in the ass would be just to get completed neck and install it body not to mention creating one myself, that seemed impossible.
You need a bit of patience and a bit of common sense (power tools and all), but shaping the neck is 95% hand tools and almost therapeutic work in itself. If you’re serious about it start reading the luthierie sections of guitar forums (tdpri especially) and in no time you’ll be looking to start your full build 😎 Edit: can’t upload apparently.

Not sure what you're getting at, but sadism means you like receiving pain, masochism means you like causing it.

Well the first thing I'm getting at is it's really cramped in that drivers seat of an Abrams. But I swear it's always the tall pfcs that wind up stuck in there. Now the second, it's just kind of fun to see someone step in and correct the differences of the two words. No offense, but it's telling when you know the nuances.

The driver's seat was indeed a bit cramped for me, but I loved every minute of driving those beasts. That pic was at tank school, so we got lots of driving practice. Funny thing was, I went to a cav scout unit after that. Still armor, I guess, lol. I went to Bradley Commander's Course, even though I was on a humvee. Go figure! We then transitioned to a heavy/tank unit, which meant Tank Commander's Course!! After I went to tank commander's course, I logically became the TC, so I didn't get to drive as much, but you'd better believe I took every chance I could to drive it that I could! That's one of the few things I miss from the Army side (I've switched to A.F. as of two years ago). I know it wasn't for everyone, but I really enjoyed living on my tank, and I dearly miss my days on the Abrams. PM the shiz out of it, don't turn to sharply in soft terrain, and it won't let you down!

You can get a pretty good idea by comparing the price of the most expensive 3080 with the cheapest 3090. Take the average of those and start from there. I'm thinking that since it's a "3080" that it will be closer in price to the 3080's than the 3090's. So, my guess would be $1199. The 2080ti was significantly better than a 2080, and someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think it cost $300 more. I'm hoping for more of the same with the 3080 series as far as performance goes and I see no reason why EVGA wouldn't continue to do what they have been doing. Rumors of the 3080ti being 5% better than a 3080 FTW are probably not true. For gaming alone it should be at least 15% or I won't consider buying it. I'm fairly close to getting a 3898 as it is, so if the 3080ti ends up being a scam I won't feel pressure to buy one anyway.

My original thought was about 1200 as well, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it around 1400. They will sell regardless, and AMD hasn't really flooded the market with their gpus.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Nvidia change up the dies and all gpus must have the new anti mining BS by a certain date? I'm sure that helps slow down any tiny progress that could be made. They are so busy trying to tell people how they should use the products they buy. These will still all be broken and mined on regardless. Such a waste of time and resource in my opinion.

55 is a better value, but if you're going to balk at 70 bucks for a more readily available card.. you're kind of just torturing yourself.

Does Best Buy's checkout process actually have a specific queuing system which would hold your place in line as you try to check out? I've heard multiple different answers from multiple different people and haven't been able to get through the checkout process because it keeps saying that there are no Best Buy stores within 250 miles of my location, which is strange because I literally have two different Best Buy stores, both within 10 miles of my house. Best Buy said if you get a message about the 250 mile thing, that's because the item is already out of stock. And the Newegg Shuffle is a joke. I call total 'BS' on the fact that it's "completely random" because I've entered over 70 times and haven't been selected once, yet several people who have either recently or previously purchased high-dollar items from them were "coincidentally" selected either a few times per month and some a few times per week. That is just not statistically possible.
