i was just reviewing the NewEgg shuffle thing. why is the 3080 ftw3 ultra selling for $1900 there? i'm guessing it has something to do with the newegg shuffle, but i don't really understand what the deal is with the shuffle... anyone care to explain what this process is and why the price is so high? if it was selling at MSRP, i might be inclined to try and get in on the shuffle, but i'm not paying $1900.

Thanks in advance!
did u forget to read what it was “bundled” with ?

That would deter me. The entire program has me thinking about other brands, to be honest.  I am not a fan of privileged clubs.  It's great for y'all, but in the end it is just easier to go elsewhere and not worry about it.

if you are thinking about other brands-why do you need a elite status? it should only include people who really want an evga card and respect the brand. this is my opinion.

Yes, Elite should be for people who really want an EVGA card and respect the brand. That is not what Elite is, though.  It is about recently buying and registered ONE or TWO things, which is hardly a commitment to the brand and says nothing about whether they really want more.

Also, does anyone have any advice on how to sign up for a product launch while the website keeps crashing? It literally took me ~20 minutes to get the EVGA site to load when I signed up for the 3080 FTW/XC3 hybrid editions (I tried on both mobile and desktop). I have absolutely no clue how people managed to snag a ~9:02/9:05 am auto-notify slot.

I was on my work computer.
I kept refreshing the page until i got a slot. My time is 9:06:11 for 3898 and 9:09:35 for 3888.  No secret or anything. Just luck

Thats part of the bad idea about them inviting everyone or not creating a "uber" elite tier. Most of these individuals joining elite now may never buy another product from them again outside of a shortage. Some people who buy their parts more often may not stay loyal if they are pushed to the back of the line by bots and these new customers.

I get why they did what they did as no matter what, they would have "alienated" (insert whatever grumpy word you want here lol) someone. If it was 500 posts in the forums, the folks who did well over 100 posts in 10-24 hours this week by saying the equivalent (or literally) of "nice" on every thread they could find wouldn't really be deterred while people that actually try to contribute and help each other (the purpose of these forums) would be left behind. If they did "must have purchased 5+ items" or "must have purchased items every year" or "for this many years" they rule out any new gamers or people who are legit gamers, but just found the brand for some reason. I don't think they want to do that either.

Literally, the only thing I think needs a modification is the forum post rule and that's just because it created a whole bunch of useless SPAM in here this week after all the advertisements went out. All these people want a 3080ti (if you couldn't tell by the 25 new 3080ti threads that were started this week...in almost every forum channel). I feel bad for the moderators. I've seen significantly less of them this week and I imagine they just can't keep up. I think it's all well and good to say "hey, if you've been contributing to our forum community, here's your path to Elite membership", but just a blanket 100 posts doesn't seem helpful. I think it needed to be also "over X period of time". That said, X cannot be years or even months to be fair. Perhaps it's a week or even 1 month (I think considering we were ~1 month from the theoretical 3080ti launch date region), but I think at least some period of time to slow down the spam would have been helpful.

Now, on to the matter at hand, I hope there's some good drop movement today. I will be on the z590 launch trying to get that ASAP. No, I don't need a moment of silence for as long as I didn't lose the silicon lottery...badly...I should have one of the fastest gaming CPUs on the planet. If you're interested, please see the current progress on that planned build in the MODS rigs section (Project Dark Water) for more info.

Don't forget to tip your waiter...err...use an associates code! I don't care who's code you use, but why skip the discount? lol

6Q6CPFHPBPCU691 is a discount code anyone can use.

No other brand is doing this that I know of.
The loyalty in question should be to nVidia for making the mining cards and not so great limiters.

Morning All.  I wish those of you that are close to your time slot a lot of luck today.  It was pretty pathetic yesterday...
Snagged a 3080 FE via a different drop yesterday, but am holding out for the 3897 for my preferred card.  Fingers crossed it will be in a few weeks.  Don't @ me....the FE will go to a family member.

Elite Status commentary:  EVGA makes the rules for their programs.  You choose to participate or not.  Many seem to be upset that others will now participate due to media coverage.  Do we like it when it benefits us and dislike that it is advertised?  I get it...the current rules encourage spam to the board.   Look at the 1148 pages of this board and tell me there wasn't spam until this week.

Re: New EVGA.com Notification Checkout Process 2021/04/29 08:25:43 (permalink)
Today on EVGA-me Street, the magic number is 100. Yesterday, when I said "please don't spam forum posts to get to the requisite 100 posts, rather actively contribute to the forums or, in the alternative, watch the EVGA Twitch streams to secure sufficient "points" to qualify [for Elite status]", some folks clearly heard, "100 posts equals Elite membership; 101 posts are too many...."  The homogeneity of numerous new forum members that have hit exactly 100 posts...well it is a study of superlative efficiency.

In other news, yesterday was a bit of a bust.

EVGA is launching a new motherboard today at 10 am PT so there may be a delay today's drops (if it is consistent with new card launch day delays).

Best of luck!

While they have done more than other AIBs, its hard to blame people for being upset when EVGA does things that makes it harder for their loyal "fans" to get products.

Examples:
Giving cards to LTT instead of the queue.
Advertising elite membership early access.
Not offering Bstock on a notify basis.

Don't get me wrong, the notify queue is great however seeing new customers/bots swoop in and grab cards while more loyal "fans" have to wait is not good for their brand retention. I think EVGA relies on that brand retention so it can be damaging to prioritize seeking new customers at the cost of existing ones.

I see where you're coming from, but I also find that a bit tricky. I think only OP can mark posts as helpful. So if you help someone else in a thread, or if OP never comes back or doesn't click that button, it doesn't work. The whole idea is to make people fans of the brand and community behind it, not create a "privileged club" lol. So they have to walk that line. My suggestion wasn't to rule out anyone or make it any more "exclusive", just to slow down the spam a wee bit.

How you doin’ SQ? You’ve been quiet lately.

Doing well, thanks for asking.  I was just dealing with some migraine issues last week that made it impossible to stare at screens for more than five minutes.  Never had those before.  The only thing that changed was my first vaccine shot.  It not only took away from my forum time, but a lot of other items as well, so I've been in a state of catching up on several things (which have no empathy to my GPU wait).

At any rate, it was great to see the drops on Tuesday.  Surprising that there were no reported straggler drops for most of those from Tuesday.  The 3080 drops were still good to see, but there's a few that haven't moved in quite a spell that would be wonderful to see today.  Best of luck to everyone though.

Ouch. As a not-so-frequent sufferer of migraines I can relate.

They usually drop circa 10 AM PT - they can go out for hours after that, but they usually drop within the first half hour/hour or so. :) Hope that helps!

EVGA has been my go to for gpu's and psu's going on 6 years now. They are diffently the best money can buy .But my loyalty is being tested from the total lack of getting a gpu after 7 months plus.Their loyalty seems to extend only to their partners and miners.Gamers on the list are getting very very very few gpu's.

Your account says registered in 2017. That not 6 years.

If you're mad at the lack stock evga has go click that buy now button somewhere else.

Don't go by account registration dates.  I created my account in 2014 because I had to RMA a defective 660.  I was an EVGA customer long before that.  I just never registered anything until then.  If he says it has been 6 years, that might be the case.

No other brand is doing this that I know of.
The loyalty in question should be to nVidia for making the mining cards and not so great limiters.

What does loyal fan of evga do when their last purchase was from 2010 ? Using this as an example because some of you spewing that forum account creation date correlates to level of evga devotion. If you really wanted the card. U would have sign up early. If you didn’t know about it. U had many chances after the changes made about evga invites. 3080 hybrids have been launched after nov. two months after ampere launch. Then there’s the folks who sign up for xc3 weeks after sept n complain they been waiting half a year with no movement. U can’t be serious and cry about it when u picked the cheapest no margin model for evga to make. Shortage going on along with materials in short. Like water being short supply in Taiwan doesn’t help either. If you don’t like how evga is handling it. Go buy zotac. They have drops everyday. Have fun with errors every time you click something
