PR is all good and well, But not much help touting for new customers while the one's waiting on your doorstep (aka queue) get upset, you may well gain some, but how many are you likely to loose?

Dear Mr @EVGA_JacbobF: is there any reason for the 3881 not moving at all for, like, 5 months? I know I should be punished for wanting the most basic 3080 model but is the punishment should be that bad? I only 1hr away from the queue and so desperate at this point. I don't know what to do anymore.

I am trying to build an all evga rig next. I have the motherboard and psu.

I am hoping to snag a 3060, 3070 or 3080 to put in it.

Later,

This made me kinda sad. These should have gone to the queue. Does LTT even ship worldwide?

I have to agree, it is annoying to see these types of photos. In the photo it seems like he is just bragging. The cards should go to the queue first, unless of course there are contracts with certain vendors or companies that need to be upheld.

Agreed. I really think EVGA was tone deaf on the LTT stuff.

Nothing about what they're doing here causes me angst.  I choose not to watch any videos or play a scavenger hunt, but business and marketing must go on...

I am fine with promotional units, etc.  That happens in the ordinary course.  I would not have done the PR around this though as if it was some sort of amazing "gamer centric" effort; it isn't. It is cross- / co- promotion, pure and simple. I object to them positioning it as something worthy of praise...its just marketing, full stop.

You're going to have to wait for the 3080 TI or 3070 TI release and sign up for every SKU this time

I got so tired of waiting on this que system that i just went and bought a pre built with a random 3080 in it and i'm so glad i did. Although i would of rather had a EVGA the Gigabyte is decent enough and no more waiting for no reason.

So I heard some folks got a 3080 on the B-stock last week and thought, "what the hell, I'll check."  Sat on my couch with my iPhone logged in and clicked the link this last Friday.  I see a couple GPUs and a 1080 TI.  Add to cart and try to check out...She gone.

I guess you have to be quick, because I feel like I was battling the Amazon bots again.

No real point to the story, other than to point out they are loading GPU's in there.  Not the one I wanted, but any port in a storm.

In the absence of a notify, I'll be on the look out for them.  (To whoever snatched it out of my cart...may the flies of ten thousand camels infest your armpits)  JK

Same.  I sort of just looked at random and saw cards going up so started refreshing.  Tried for a couple 1660 tier cards but couldn't get checked out before the "Removed from your cart" would pop up, assuming I got that far and wasn't immediately blocked by an error.

LTT stuff feels like trash.  I don't blame LTT, it's EVGA sending the stuff over and choosing to prioritize him over people who have been waiting for months then spin it as doing gamers some big favor.  Don't really care that it's 3060 and 3070s, either -- last I checked, there was still long queues for those cards with people who have been waiting since Day One.

The B-stocks price isn't cheap, last Thursday I was able to buy a 2080ti FTW for $1412 shipped that was with 3% discount I probably not going to keep it.

That seems too high for what it is.  Vivithemage grabbed some 3000-series B-stock for ~MSRP.  Then again the 2000-series were way overpriced from the start.

Yeah, nothing is perfect timing it seems like. I tried real hard all last week and never got anything. And then 2 in one shot :|.

if you don't mind,  what were they charging for them?

834.19 + tax and shipping for the 3080 ftw3 ultra and  1794.49 + tax and shipping for the 3090 ftw3 ultra.

From what I've seen in other forums, EVGA is no longer doing business with Super Flower (who made those PSUs)

I bought a Super Flower Leadex Special Edition 1300 Watt which is essentially just a revised version of the P2.  It's a really good PSU

Although not related to the que process, this information was extremely helpful as it gives me another brand of PSU to add to the pool when trying to buy a 1200+ watt PSU. I tried to verify it of course, and found word of mouth that agrees with you, but noticing your post is how I even learned of Super Flower; thank you.  I am finding PSUs 1000 watts and higher to be as impossible to find in stock as GPUs, though 850 watts and lower are readily available. I couldn't find them at Microcenter, Direct from the manufacturer, Amazon, Newegg, Best Buy, what have you, from any brand I could trust.

Newegg has a new 1200 watt from Super Flower up for pre-order with a deadline of 4/27. It costs $320 with $20 shipping, which is much more expensive then a Corsair, but not over the top. It is apparently only 180 mm long which is convenient. I am not getting my hopes up, but I put in an order.

On the GPU side of things, my 3060 is in service and performing well.

Really a bummer that the b-stock cards only have a 1-year warranty given that they're priced so close to MSRP (mainly speaking of the 30-series cards that restocked on Thursday).

Would you have found their position more palatable if they simply put it forward as marketing exercise?

It seems EVGA preference was to bring in new customers through this effort; which seems a bit strange considering the current state of chip shortage affairs.

good for him, it takes away from all of us waiting patiently in the queue though. Maybe I need to have a YouTube channel with millions of subscribers to get a chance to buy a 3080 FTW3 Ultra.

just looks like those pictures scalpers take to brag about their "inventory"

Don't think you even read what I said lmao. He gets them to sell them to gamers in secret drops, you have just as much of a chance to get it earlier than the queue. The gpus were probably set to go to a retailer anyway, not the queue. These gpus aren't graphics cards he bought to sell for a profit or brag, they are to get them to people who aren't scalpers or miners

I’m not mad at him, he is doing whatever he can to pump up his own brand. Seems like poor form for EVGA with the size of the queues though.

...most likely, but in this situation a lot of us lost sense of humor, for situation where one has a picture with bunch of GCs

The gpus were probably set to go to a retailer anyway, not the queue.

That would actually make it worse since it would imply that EVGA has a stream of "retail" cards they could have diverted to the queue (if they can divert them to LTT) but choose not to.  The usual excuse is that EVGA has retailer obligations they need to fulfill but this obviously doesn't apply to sending Linus a bunch of cards since LTT isn't a previous retail partner.  So I don't see where "Well, they were going to go to a retailer but EVGA decided to send them to Linus instead" is supposed to make anyone think better of the move.

Also, point of clarification, LTT is selling and making a profit on the cards.  Probably very minor in comparison to their other revenue streams but they're going to be making the same profit off each card that any other non-scalping retailer is making.  Saying that he's not buying these to make a profit is misleading (although the real reason why he's doing it is to drive clicks, hence the "You gotta watch every video the second it drops to have any chance at getting a card" aspect).  Again, that doesn't make me think worse of LTT but let's be realistic about what it is.

Does anyone have production numbers for rtx 3000 series?
Are they significantly larger than previous 2000 or roughly the same?
My short investigation was not very succsessfull...

Im not saying that it won't make him money, but you are treating it as if he is taking away gpus from people who want to buy them, which simply isn't true
