johcamp21 Edit. Comment above completely ruined this. Bugger me.
Sorry, I was not being serious, literally expected 10 replies of "I'll take it" within seconds. None of my business. My apologies.

GrapeCollieLmao, not me, I'm passing this card on. I have a 3070 If you don't have plans to buy card, you probably should remove notifies for those. Not a big deal, but someone will get his notification one day later because of you...

Price difference after the 16th is $70, the cost of the tariff. I doubt EVGA is hoarding cards to be rained upon us after the nominal price increase happens. But I wish they were, because then maybe I'd have a chance to get a dang card.

I have purchased 35 evga cards since 2012. I built and sold rigs since 2012. I have zero RMA's for all 35 evga cards. So I do not particularly worry about evga warranty policy for gpu's. I have had very few evga failures most notable was a p67 mobo built for a friend. It is still sitting in a box somewhere was a dog of a mobo. Could not find the paperwork. Evga knows my return records for RMA. 1 platinum 1600 watt p2 1 cpu cooler. 50 purchases. GPUs don't fail from mining. They fail from abusive amounts power tossed at them in hot cases. Whether it is gaming or mining if you max fans max tdp max ram clocks for long time periods they fail.

This whole process just has me so cynical. It's like I'm throwing money at EVGA, they are carefully picking it up, and placing it back in my wallet and walking away. If no cards are coming anytime soon, I wish they would just say so. Anticipation is much worse.

Bora1114I doubt EVGA can tell what is and isn't but I agree they could decline him over his post at least if he submits a claim for fan failure. There are defects that can be detected from faulty manufacturing such as bad solder. There definitely is, but if EVGA declines his claim - he need to find who can do expertise for him, X-ray card, find bad solder under chip, then he need a lawyer to file claim to court... it not worth it. So, sometimes it is better to be silent

cmatt0991 I've been creeping for a few weeks on this forum and I don't understand what EVGA is doing... are they giving us Priority or are they making what they can to be sent out to 3rd parties and just to keep us happy they throw a few of the not so popular ones for us to snag up... How many people do you think got on here and actually signed up for this. I just don't see them being very generous with what they have and I'm so sick of waiting I sold my 2080 super, which was a FTW3 I only got 700$ for it :( right at launch to buy a 3080, I know i was stupid and Naïve but I have been stuck with crappy onboard video since and I just cant believe its been 6 months and I have had no luck. I seriously have had to give up gaming which was a major hobby of mine Pre-30 series launch. I have been so thoroughly upset by this whole situation and am just Hopeless at this time. Does anyone have a card they would be willing to sell for not an outrageous price over retail like I could do 20% over $$. I'm just so desperate to be able to game again. Please help me!!!!
Perhaps you could fill the hours you cannot spend gaming by doing volunteer work for a charitable organization. That would not only help you pass the time, you might even do something useful for someone else. And, maybe, one day while you are doing productive work, you will get an email from EVGA saying your turn has come to buy a 3080. Why don't you volunteer at a hospital. Maybe you'd meet someone waiting for a liver or heart, and you can commiserate with him, telling him his situation is not that bad because having to wait for a graphics card is so much worse that waiting for a replacement organ.
I guess that's a noble way to spend one's time. I kind of see it backfiring. Sorry, I could not help but go tongue in cheek here. I'm not making light of deliver disease. An aunt of mine passed away from that a couple of years ago, so do understand I'm not taking that aspect lightly. Rather, I'm just hoping you can enjoy my comedic take of the extremes some of us can go with how serious vs not serious it is to have a new graphics card. Volunteer [speaking with potential terminal patient]: Sorry, just checking my phone for updates. Trying to figure out when I might have a chance to buy a GPU from eVGA. Patient: Evie Jay? Volunteer: Just a company that makes awesome cards for PC gaming. I've been waiting since September, and the queue doesn't seem to move. Patient: Oh. Yea, that sounds awful. I've only been waiting since late December for a liver transplant. Volunteer: That's awful. Sorry man. Do you know how much longer you might be waiting? Patient: No idea, but the doctor's been honest with me. I've got at most 6-8 weeks before it'll be too late for me. Volunteer: Wow, that's terrible. On the bright side, one way or the other, you have a firm timeline on when your wait will come to the end. [Patient throws bedpan at Volunteer] Volunteer: Whoa! Calm down. I'm the one who should be upset! I'll be waiting for months longer than you. [Unbeknownst to Patient and Volunteer at the time, a group of medical scientists had been conducting intense studies that leverage the GPU compute power of evga graphics cards. Their cutting edge scientific research, aided by dozens of 2000 and 3000 series graphic cards, has identified a radical new treatment option for late stage live disease. Four weeks later, Patient has been approved to allow Patient to be one of the first human volunteers for this novel treatment.] [Another two weeks pass] Volunteer: Hey buddy, how are you doing? Patient: Some days are painful still, but the doctors are saying the scans show scar tissue is softening and reducing. Even some signs of regeneration. I feel like it's a miracle. Volunteer: That's awesome! I am so happy to hear that. Patient: Yea. It's kind of funny really. The doctors told me about how this trial program came to be. Mentioned these scientists were using a bunch of GPUs to try and find novel treatment solutions. I wouldn't have even have known what those were without.. talking to you before. Volunteer: Wow! A bunch? Patient: Above my head. I think they said dozens. Volunteer: No wonder my wait is so long! It's more than just miners and scalpers. [Patient throws bedpan at Volunteer]

Yeah seriously it's downright annoying now that the 3897 was slow for MONTHS, finally started to pick up speed a bit over a month ago but only for like 2 weeks and now it's back to a crawl since the past 2-3 weeks with barely any drops... Feels like they are either holding back or just putting the hardware/chips/whatever on all the other models I keep seeing dropping left and right. Not sure what the reason is and I wish we had someone confirm why instead of constantly being in the dark. I'm on Sept 22nd 6:00am in the morning and I'm not even sure they can get there before April 16th, which is ridiculous considering that the queue is 24 hours away from my position. EDIT: An I seriously, SERIOUSLY hope that EVGA will learn from this experience and realize you don't need 22 friggin' skus for the same card in the future. That's just a waste.

Too many SKUs is an excellent point. I am no manufacturing expert, but I cannot believe that helps production numbers. There has to be a reason why they do it this way, but man, if I wouldn't have selected Notify Me for a bunch of SKUs and was waiting on a dead one, I'd be pretty bummed.

EDIT: "An I seriously, SERIOUSLY hope that EVGA will learn from this experience and realize you don't need 22 friggin' skus for the same card in the future. That's just a waste."
EVGA has been a successful company for many years. I'm sure they've made some mistakes, but you don't stay in business unless you make mostly good decisions. It's amazing to me how many people on this Board, who have never run a company, so freely criticise how EVGA runs its business. The present shortages are due to a confluence of factors - low chip yields, COVID, mining, etc. Maybe if EVGA had had a crystal ball, and had been able to forseee the long waiting lines, they would have decided on fewer SKUs. But different customers want different things. If EVGA was just trying to satisfy me, they'd just have a basic card (no hydro, no overclocking) for each Nvidia chip 3090, 3080, etc. But, that's not what other people want. Some want hydro cooling; some want RGB, etc.

Explain to me how it makes sense to have 3-4-5 models of the exact same card with just little variations in both price and specs? Like a couple dollars different for very little difference in power? If it would be cards that are actually having big differences and a good price gap I would understand but to have regular 3080, FTW3, FTW3 Ultra, XC, XC gaming, XC Black , etc for the exact same card that are basically all the same thing more or less it just ridiculous in my opinion. 3080 would have been plenty fine (for models outside of watercooling of course I'm mentionning here) with an XC and FTW3 . The rest is not needed, especially with how little difference there is between all those skus. You don't need 3 different XC models and 3 different FTW models either in my opinion.
