Black cards are still being made. Plenty of them on EBAY. Just none going out to the queue.

Not that there is anything wrong with that. I'm not referring to the Ebay part, just that EVGA is dumping the black cards on retailers while maintaining exclusive control of others like the hybrids, HC's, and kingpins. Probably the upcoming 3080ti as well. The contract that EVGA has with retailers that says "you shall get cards" doesn't let them pick and choose which cards they get. It's fine with me if they get the stripped down versions since they were never worth considering in the first place. The price gap between the bottom end air cooled 3080 and the top end is only $80. It's silly to fret over that amount of money when you're already into it for $800.

A fair decision.  In my case, as an upgrade option, well there's never been a better time to unload an old R9 290X and offset the cost of the (overpriced) 3060.  Plus, I just don't see the market improving within the next 18-24 months if the news about chip manufacturing is accurate.

If that is the case, I hope my GTX 1080 (not TI) lasts. I am not seeing much hope in getting a card in the competitive botting on Amazon, Newegg, BB and so on.

In fact, lately I have been investigating some versions of the Quadro cards, given that 3080's are getting close to if not over $4k on Ebay, Quadro though not a gaming card, would at least be worth while for a bit, and they are available.

Who do I talk to about switching my queue position to the 12G-P5-3657-KR.  I got on the queue for the 12G-P5-3655-KR at 2/25/2021 9:07:26 AM PT but that does not seem to be moving according to the "spreadsheet megathread". Had I known EVGA wasn't going to either produce 12G-P5-3655-KR's or neglect fulfilling those orders, I would have got in queue for the 12G-P5-3657-KR in the first place.

As far as value of the 3060, it's performance is slightly above a 2070 - which was $499 at launch.  It is much better than a 2060 or even the 2060 super, which were $330-$400 themselves. 
I've seen benchmarks showing it equal in performance to the PS5, but with ray tracing and DLSS and lower power consumption.

I sell cars and last year in January I had people walking away from $27K used trucks that were already priced 2-3 grand under book, because they didn't want to spend more than $25K on a $30K truck.  Fair enough.  Then COVID hit and those same trucks are now booking for $35K and we're pricing them at $32K just to help people get into them.
I've seen dealers selling new vehicles with $10-20K "Market Adjustments" because of how difficult it is getting to get new vehicles from the manufacturers.

Prices will always go up.  When supply drops dramatically, prices go way up.

Understand why people might not want the 3060 - it's great for 1080p, but it falls off at higher resolutions.  If you want to game on Ultra at 1440p, the Ti or especially the 3070 IS the way to go.

But IMHO the 3060 is definitely priced right for what you get from it.

Must be nice to see 3 days of movement, the card I am closest to 3885 has yet to move 3 days since launch 9/16/2020
