How did people get on the notify list for the Hydro Copper cards? I don't see a notify button on them.
The autonotify button was live for about 25 minutes on 11/13. It will likely relight when they’ve completed servicing the first tranche of registrants. EVGA has been giving around 36 to 48 hours notice before relighting a button. theGeekPirate

If you have a 1080Ti, you don't need a 3060. Just use what you have and maybe try to pounce into the 3080Ti queue early, whenever that happens.
Like I said I'm about to break and getting desperate lol. I haven't looked at the 3060 but a 3070 on Newegg shuffle has been pretty tempting. I'm even ready to spend some extra and just get a 3090 on the shuffle or something. I haven't seen any 3080's on there.
Are you at all close to a Micro Center??

3070 and 2 different 3080 a week later. Thanks for letting me know. I’ve held off on building a new PC for too long. This is crazy. Scalping prices have gotten so bad now.
Its better to just find a good deal on a cyberpower or Ibuypower in all honesty.

Well speaking of "Zotac" my 3070oc is on it's way back to Newegg as we speak, one of the fans developed a rattle exactly 29 days after I bought it 🙁
Newegg said they couldn't refund me but will send me a new card tho, so I will probably put the replacement up on Ebay when I get it & hold out for an Evga card instead
The Zotac card did run cool & gpu boosted @ around 2ghz & had samsung ddr6 dram ,but having a fan fail in less than a month is unacceptable to me
Maybe I should ask Newegg to send me an Evga card of equivalent value & that I dont want anymore Zotac's... heh...one could only hope, so for now i'm back with my trusty 2060ko 👍

Nope. Depending on what game you're benching, that's either a straight downgrade or it's barely equal to the 1080 ti. RTX/DLSS is not a factor since it's not as mainstream as Nvidia likes to think with all the games supporting it, you could count on your fingers.

It's not gonna be a world of difference if you're getting the 3060 but currently own a 1080 Ti. But let's say you want to test out some minor Ray Tracing or take advantage of DLSS and HDMI 2.1 capabilities then it could be worth while then. Realistically a 3060 Ti or 3070 is gonna be the real upgrade in this regard; however in our current situation that's not really applicable. As far as benchmarks depending if you OC it or not it's only about even and/or the 3060 maybe edging it out by about 5%~12% depending on the games frame rate wise. Would be wiser to keep your 1080 Ti for now if you don't mind waiting otherwise if you REALLY need DLSS for some reason or HDMI 2.1 then go ahead.

Just got the UPS notification for delivery. I'm really happy that EVGA will ship same-day orders up to 2pm. That's the latest I've seen a company do in recent memory (it's possible I haven't paid much attention). Anyway, that's really good for people local to them!

The hope and upbeat comments here is just blowing me away. I don't know how you guys do it.
I have a tendency to work quite a bit so although I am about to build my 5th gaming pc, I have never really been in the loop as far as forums and other gaming related community stuff. So when I started looking at my components for this build in December and I couldn't find any video cards anywhere I had no idea just how deep the problem was. I thought the wait would be a few weeks, maybe a month. Wow, I've never been so wrong.
I wasn't going to buy the rest of the components until I realized those were getting hard to find too so I snapped them up when I could. Now I have them sitting in a corner waiting for the new video card and after roughly 3 months I'm beginning to break.
Here is my question, LOL. What would you guys do? 1. Build the new pc and throw in the old 1080 ti? 2. Not build it at all and just wait for the new 3080? or 3. Try for a lesser card like 3060 or 3070 on Newegg shuffle and just be done with it?

Sapphire RX 580 8GB, i5-4670k, 16GB of 1866MHz DDR3 (yep...) : interested to see what kinda of uplift I get with comparatively low CPU and RAM.
If I get lucky with a higher SKU the 3060's probably going to my dad, brother, or best friend - $440 is a pricey gift, but $440 for a $700 gift is worth it at this juncture ;). Thanks all for keeping the thread alive!

This morning I suggested it was the calm before the storm. In the Los Angeles basin today, we got some pretty heavy winds; the bay was full of white caps as the wind whipped across the water. But not a drop of rain. In the queues, we had the notable event of the 3090 and 3080 FTW3 Hydro Coppers dropping for the first time. As a reminder, they had a limited tranche of registrants on November 13 (the auto-notify button was only lit for about 25 minutes). Nothing yet on the XC3 Hydro Coppers. The K|NGP|N Hybrid also dropped, as did four air-cooled skus. On balance, though, it was a day for the waterlogged cards to shine. I'm hoping the 3060 queue keeps moving fairly quickly this week like today! It'll be great to finally get rid of this AMD R7 200 Series card. Thanks for reporting everyone.
