Adiyaaa1234567have y'all seen enewts morning update for the doc It is still there: forums.evga.com/FindPost/3234711 but "➥ Approval Pending" B1022Queue system is the best You should tell this to US government - they probably should change Diversity Visa Program from lottery based to queue based system. But in this case you'll get only retired people to come this country Not always queue the best, isn't it?
Use associate code to save 3% on your EVGA GPU purchase! And up to 10% on other products!

Just got my invite to purchase 10G-P5-3897-KR, which I just got done completing. My signup date/time for this card was 9/20/20 at just after six a.m. EVGA time. IMO, EVGA has done a wonderful job of implementing a fair system for people to get their GPU's during a horrible time. It isn't EVGA's fault that there is such a GPU shortage, and they have done a great job of taking as much sting out of the process as possible. The only issue I can take them to task on, is that they have yet to produce even one of their low end 3080 cards. I can understand them wanting to maximize profitability by shipping out the highest margin products first, but customers do have a tendency to remember such things in the future. It would have produced a lot of good will (maybe even as much as the purchasing system they implemented) by producing at least SOME of the lower end cards.

Queue is "fair" because it's first come first serve and so people who took the time and made the effort to be earlier than others get their chance first. Lottery is "fair" because absolutely nobody is preferred and there is literally nothing a person can do to effect their chances. Both ways work. However, there's a reason that grocery stores, banks, etc all use queues instead of lotteries. (Hint: it cuts down on all the fist fights, stabbings and shootings considerably)

Hitch_Itch I just came across this at Reddit, Do you think the figure are anywhere near to being true? If so Good Luck on getting a card with 500,000 people in que Link to post: https://www.reddit.com/r/...as_over_500000_unique/ EVGA's Notify Queue has Over 500,000 Unique Notification Requests since the 3080 Launch
Discussion
EVGA's queue system uses an incrementing counter for every requested notification. This system applies to all products on the EVGA website. Despite this, it can be used as a rough gauge for overall demand. You can see the IDs of your entries on the MyNotifies page. https://www.evga.com/community/myNotifies.aspTo see it, you can inspect-element the page and see the ID attached to the remove button.Using this data from my own notifies and some data from other people, I was able to determine the approximate length of the queue. Remember, this is for ALL EVGA products that people signed up for notifications on, not any individual card.As of 9/17 @ 7am notifies were at ~1140000As of 9/21 @ 5pm, notifies were at ~1210000As of 10/6 @ 7pm, notifies were at ~1370000As of 10/7 @ 7pm, notifies were at ~1445000As of 10/23 @ 2pm, notifies were at ~1590000This shows us that there is almost 500,000 unique notifications between 9/17 @ 7am and today on the EVGA store alone. While we can't assume that all notification requests are for a 3000 series card, we can assume the majority are. What could be interesting is mapping out the total number of requests vs date. We could use that to roughly map ID + date + card to where the ACTUAL queue position is.Edit: I can't do basic subtraction. That's 450,000 not 500,000. Either way, it's still a gigantic queue.
Im suspecting if this tracks total cards in queue, the number they are using started at 1 million.

I'll let someone else monkey around with the 'remove' button lol. I'm not getting near that thing ;)
That is interesting. Of course you don't know what queue's got which sign-up, but you could make some educated guesses. You don't have to (and definitely should not) mess with the remove button, but if you take a dive into the source, you can find this tag.. which is pretty cool if you think about the name.. table class="table-gotyourback". There certainly seems to be some incremental counting going on there. It's not that surprising if you look at the estimation of daily traffic to evga.com, but it is probably more than I thought.

xeddex I think the way this is going to play out is that NVidia won't hardware block it (because they're not going to physically change anything about the chips and all that would involve). It'll be a driver block (so software). Anyone that has a card because they mine 24/7 and so don't care about gaming will circumvent that software block easily every time NVidia puts it in a driver. The only people who it will effect will be gamers who also want to mine on the side because they won't want to mess with flip/flopping drivers or installing "hacked" drivers from shady sources. So it'll have zero impact where they're trying to make an impact. The only thing that might have an impact is their new "mining" compute cards but ONLY if the miners calculate that it's a better return on investment. No, it's an hardware lock. There's a secure headshake between the silicon, bios and driver. The thing is that it only affects ETH. And, even then, apparently, it's already been bypassed...

No, but all the emotion behind those fist fights still ends up being create and that's not good. Human nature is that if you know you're got to wait in a line then you won't get super pissed as long as you think you can handle the wait. However, if you know you've got to show up and get in a line and you go to get in that line and see the line goes around the block twice then you're instantly pissed and start voicing the opinion that a lottery should have been used instead. Truth be told, folks that show up to get in line when the line isn't that long never start talking about how it should have been a lottery; it's only the folk way down the line who are pissed at being so far back.

I havn't seen a bypass yet, at least one used by the general public. It would be interesting to see if there are any ramifications though if someone decides to mine on low settings while playing games and then has their gaming performance dropped by the mining "fix".

Found interesting thing. You can right click on "Remove Notify", then select "Inspect Element"(for Firefox). You'll see this: onclick="return removeNotify('2763272','12G-P5-3657-KR','3/2/2021 7:12:01 AM');" I bet that first parameter it is sequential number in line. There is my queue: '2536211','08G-P5-3663-KR','2/15/2021 7:49:07 PM' '2536213','08G-P5-3667-KR','2/15/2021 7:50:00 PM' '2621460','08G-P5-3751-KR','2/24/2021 8:49:08 AM' '2653138','12G-P5-3655-KR','2/25/2021 9:29:54 AM' '2763272','12G-P5-3657-KR','3/2/2021 7:12:01 AM' Unfortunately I cant check ID for product that I already was notified: 12G-P5-3657-KR 2/25/2021 9:03:28 AM PT Yes And because it is mixed queue(you can see my two first records - 53 second difference and 2 difference in ID) it does not provides much information.

We can probably extrapolate a good amount of data from this given some basic assumptions.

subdude It would still be nice if folks that signed up for multiple skus would have a lottery like the one member did a while back to spread the love :(
I'm not sure how this is more fair than simply passing on the card, which would allow it to go to the next person in line? The next person in line has been waiting for MONTHS. Is it not most fair for the card to go to that person rather than to some random person who might have only been waiting a short time?

xeddex Queue is "fair" because it's first come first serve and so people who took the time and made the effort to be earlier than others get their chance first.
You won’t have fist fights over gpus sold online.
No. No. No. People are upset over the lack of production of 3080 blacks and 3080 gaming. EVGA prioritizing water cooled gpus over air. People being upset has nothing to do spots in line.

Congrats to those whore are getting their cards today. Unfortunately, it looks like no 3090 Ultra FTW3 are being shipped out today it seems, since I'm about an hour away from the queue system.
