Wanted to share a drop of good news.
Sat, wife and I, went on a date, to the vaccine center.
We each got our 1st doses.
Must admit expected to have a 3080 way before I got the shot.

Question on PSUs.
Looking at the EVGA line up, the 1300 watt ones seem to be odd birds.
Was looking at the 1k and 1200 ones and saw the 1300 listed. Just a 1k with better caps?
For a 3090, as I have a better chance of getting it than a 3080, was thinking a 1200 then saw the 1300 and was why not. So 4 more notifies clicked.
Any suggestions the models seem to be nearly the same.
Using a Cooler Master HAF XB EVO - High Air Flow Test Bench and Lan Box Desktop Computer Case, the black cube. Plenty of room, not as sexy as many, but it does move air. Added a 120mm on the top grill just to push the air as far from the system as I could.
3900x AMD with 32 Gig of ram. 2 HDDS. 2 SSDs, 2 M2s
Just need some horsepower in the GPU. The 970 was in it, a 3070 now, going to friend as soon as I get an 80 or 90, as he has 970 atm as well.
Thanks for any help. Trying to make sure I do not miss something and have time to check, lots of time it seems.

s.karkav Honestly, all the time I've spent refreshing pages and hoping to get a good deal with one of these cards is truly not worth the effort. Here's a story for y'all:
Around September, I had preordered a 3080 from a local store here in Greece. (plaisio.gr) I paid 30% of the card's projected price and was told that I would get my card a few days after its launch. With the launch being what it is, I called them and asked, "Hey. Are you guys sure you're going to be able to deliver? Should I look elsewhere?", to which they replied "Everything's fine sir, we have enough stock to cover our preorders, you can expect your delivery within the next 10 days. So that was a bold faced lie and should come to no surprise today, but for myself at that time, it was somewhat frustrating. So I called them again 2 weeks after the missed deadline. They said 'the shortage is much worse than we anticipated but we will get you your card by black friday'. I said 'you better, or I'm going to pursue legal action'. Black friday came and went, there were several phonecalls, i even sent my lawyer after them (who will win the case by the way, but that sort of legal action takes years to resolve in Greece) but I still got nowhere closer to getting a card. So around november, I started scouring the net. I signed up on this queue super late because of this, and even then was dumb enough to only queue for the 3080s since that was the only card I was really interested in. Since then i've signed up for various notifications, I set up friends and family addresses on various european cities that can get FE cards shipped to should they drop in those area, and I've watched as the prices go up up up while availability seemingly gets even lower. Stores in Greece now sell 3070 cards at 1300eur, 3090 cards at 3000eur, and they still sell out within seconds.
So I've had enough. I'm tapping out. I'll keep using my 970 until this blows over. Somehow gamers have been turned into addicts, willing to pay exorbitant prices for cards, even if that card isn't the one they originally wanted, and then put that card into mining to make some money back. It's nuts.
I'll just patiently wait for a card that's available, that I can pick up without hassle. I just can't feel angry or sad anymore every time I 'miss a drop' or some nonsense, lol. I really hope y'all get what you want. Good luck!
That last part is so true. They say marketing is all about creating a need in the consummer's mind, one that isn't there by default. I'd say when you see people paying such absurd amounts of cash for graphics cards, hardware companies have done an excellent job at turning their customers into drug addicts.

Just odd many of the PSUs look to be almost the same but price differs 20% trying to understand why. Think I will get the 1300 just to have plenty of room. I have 2 hot swap bays which may get a workout if this design work takes off. Have an EVGA 850 80+ Gold in there now, thinking it might be a bit light for 3090 and 2 extra HDDs. If the 1600 comes in first may just grab one of those and not have to worry about it again. As the beta bios are hitting 450 watts on some 3090s now. Have a great rest of the day!

If the price difference is not extreme, I see no reason not to get the 1300w over the 1200w. That said, if it is a significant jump, I don't know that you're actually getting yourself any practical benefit. The rest of your system, even if you put a serious overclock on your CPU, will rarely pull more than even a solid 1000w could handle. I would think with the specs you've listed a 1200w would be more than enough.

Second Dose can be a pain. I got mine a month ago and only had some weird dreams and a slight headache. A number of coworkers felt like they were beat up, had nausea, and or temps of 103. Usually just lasted a day though and either hit the day after the shot or 2 days later. Good for you on getting the shot!

Yeah, I understand eVGA doing this stuff for Elite Members is nice and all, but truth be told, it is way, way too easy to get Elite Member status for what can basically be bot accounts, specifically for giveaways like this & queues like the Kingpin queue that are Elite-exclusive. Not to offend or lessen any of the people that legitimately did it for wanting the card, but the 100 post thing being a way to get there, vs owning eVGA products previously that qualify you for it, is kinda silly. Especially since the forums blatantly allow "spamming" in the General Discussion threads that are pretty much made for spamming - and more than a few people have taken advantage of that posting every time they can until they get to 100, then we never see them again. If I had to guess, a good bit of those Kingpins are the ones that are showing up on EBay.

Being elite never really felt elite but maybe thats just me. I just bought a card and I instantly became one awhile back.

Speaking of Elite status, I was elated to receive my box of EVGA coolness (non-GPU related) recently. I got a couple of shirts, the backpack, and the half-price keyboard and mouse. It is a solid keyboard, and the feel and build quality are amazing. The proximity sensor feature is truly unique, and will appeal to many. Heck, I want to keep the keyboard just for THAT! Alas, the marketing speak is sadly a lie. I ordered the "linear and silent" version. They might be linear, but they are the opposite of silent. Too bad! It's otherwise an excellent keyboard. The linear and silent keys truly are louder than even the cherry reds from my Asus Strix keyboard. So what keyboard did I end up with, you ask? I just purchased the Logitech G815 lightspeed (wired version) yesterday, and I am absolutely blown away. The keys are extremely quiet, but they still feel mechanical, and they are FAST. I can type like crazy on this thing, and somehow it still feels perfect for gaming, all while being one of the quietest keyboards I've ever typed on in my life, even compared to membrane and laptop keyboards. It is an absolute marvel. Of course it has a price tag to match. The only reason I was able to afford it was because I returned the Asus, which covered most of the cost. (I know it doesn't technically change the price paid, but at least it makes it less of a striking blow all at once.) This keyboard beats everything I've ever typed on, hands down. This is better than the reds on the Asus keyboards, the opticals on the EVGA, the blues on some of my kids gaming keyboards, and even my beloved Romer G switches on my older Logitech keyboard. It's better than the Corsair keyboards I've tested at every one of their price points. Obviously this is subjective, but there are enough professional reviewers that agree with me (I looked it up after the fact, as I was curious) that this keyboard warrants your attention if it happens to fit your budget. Note: the TKL version is cheaper. Sadly the EVGA mouse is not for me. I hate the exaggerated forced claw grip, and how my thumb always pushes against the forward/back buttons in my natural grip. The mouse tracks extremely well, and it's a bargain at the Elite member pricing - but only if that particular grip and button placement suits you. The sniper button is also unique and excellent for folks that play a lot of FPS. I do not, and no one has these on display, so I haven't been able to test the grip until I got one myself. The EVGA peripherals are quality built, and are definitely going to be perfect for many, but they're not what I'm looking for. At the end of the day, I ended up sticking with Logitech. The fast, quiet keyboard and infinity scroll mouse, and lack of making compromises in other areas make them the winners for me.

philipma1957 I think we will get no cards next week due to the feb 12- feb 26 lunar New Years .
We shouldn't see a dead stop from IF Lunar New Year actually meant all production halted, until around 3-4 weeks from now, it takes about that long for a card to go from where it starts, to where it's made, to where it can be sent out to us via the queue.
This is why production of the cards should be done in multiple countries, rather than being reliant on just one (China) so that when events like that happen, you'll still have a production going on elsewhere. Heck, I've been waiting since November (though I know others longer) and still haven't seen any movement. It's quite annoying since as it stands I can't really game with any friends anymore as my main gaming system is now down (1070 finally went out, all I got is a laptop which is nice and all, but overheats very quickly when gaming)

Just wanted to add that I am really disappointed on teh way this queu system works (IF it works at all). I am on the queu since January 5th on all rtx 3000 cards, and no news ever since. I understand this is kind of normal. HOWEVER, last thursday, the day RTX 3060 12gb went online, I set myself on the queu for it and......look at what happenned : 40minutes later I checked the EVGA EU site randomly and saw the card in stock...so I went ahead and tried to buy it only to reach the payment screen and not let me go to paypal cause it was sold out. First mistake, when you add something to your cart system should remove it from stock for 10mins to let you make the purchase. But most importantly I was disappointed that the card came in stock and I received no notification at all (let alone have it reserved for me for 8hours) even though I had enabled the option earlier... Why did this happen? And should I not lose faith on my other notifications that are 2months running after this?

I see that you were on queu since 9 AM. What's your opinion on the fact that at around 19.30 PM (GMT+2) same day some cards went on sale and you didn't get notified? Attached is the screenshot from my mobile phone when I tried to buy 2 pieces and reached the payment phase only for them to be sold-out by then.

I think that was an error/mistake from their side, I also saw in stock, but couldn't buy one, not two. Also, I entered at 12G-P5-3657-KR 2/25/2021 9:00:48 AM PT.

Ouch! I'm glad you got a 3070, but that's some dedication I don't know I'd be able to pull!
Yeah I've been able to 'catch' several 3070s on the e-market, but the problem is the cheapest i've seen was at around 900-950usd (by approximation, it was 800eur). Here in Greece the cheapest 3070 you'll find currently is at around 1300usd (1100 eur)
As Greece has no FE shipping, the only option to get one is to buy it online from France or Germany and ship it to a local there, then have that person ship it to you. Some folks also had success by signing up as a company, but some stores still refuse to ship the card outside FE's restrictions, and refund the purchase. It's a mess! I'd be more than happy to find and buy a 3070, or even a 3060ti if its reasonably priced, but I catch myself justifying a 2500eur purchase of a 3090 just so i can 'move on from this'. It's just better for my sanity to just tap out and wait for this mess to blow over instead of being done in by my own 'weakness' so to speak, if that makes sense :)

My advice to you is to visit an internet cafe and see about purchasing one of their cards. Some even sell 2070s or 2080s. They're all shut down for the quarantine and you might get a good deal, especially on an older card like a 980 or something. If you live in Thessaloniki dm me, I miiiight be able to help. Otherwise just look at that site called insomnia.gr, some folks sell stuff at reasonable prices there.
Other than that though, replying to what you said in Greece, I don't doubt for one second that people in the states have had similar problems with certain retailers. The real difference is that they have options, whereas here in Greece there are none. There's like 2-3 shops that keep things reasonably priced, but have a giant backlog of pre-orders. To be honest though I do not fault Plaiso.gr, or any other store in Greece for these price inflations. I blame the Greek consumer. It is staggering how many people in this country with alleged 'poor economy' are willing to spend 3-4 grand for a GPU. Supply and demand at its finest!
