Yo Enewt, is there funkyness going on with your Assoc stuff too? Mine is uh... being weird O_o  :-D Or 3 people in a row used a lot of eVGA Bucks to make their purchase very cheap... far as I know, only GPUs & Motherboards are the 3% category, so it couldn't be anything else... could it? OH WAIT the new Keyboard & Mice are in that price range & are in the 3% category. Maybe that's what those are.

I figured mid January for a 3897 n: 9/23 @ 11am , boy was I way off

The drops ARE happening!
I feel like this is a rose-colored and somewhat disingenuous statement (no offense intended). Drops are VERY few and VERY FAR between, with a ton of people competing (3,000 people in Falcodrin's stream alone this AM when BB dropped, for example). It's insanely difficult to get these things, more so than at launch (much more so), and only for people who can afford to be in proximity of a notification system 24/7 with the wherewithal to act on it - and even then luck plays a *massive* factor. It's still a lottery where the cost of a ticket is a time commitment that many (most) people cannot meet.
Or you have the NewEgg scam, I mean, Shuffle, which is a lottery that doesn't require a time commitment per se, but does require you to buy extra stuff you don't need, that you can't return. Again giving priority to the more-fortunate (side note, EVGA, you should really find a different partner than NewEgg with their combo BS - it is profoundly anti-consumer).
Availability for these cards is still a huge dumpster fire. Technically the drops are happening, but technically I could win mega millions tomorrow.
Listen mr. debbie downer, I get all that, but some drops are better than no drops. Can't you join me in being happy for those that were successful? I have wasted away countless hours of my life trying to snag a 3080. By now it probably would have saved me money man-hours wise to just pay a scalper months ago and take the hit and stop spending time. Alas, here I am with the rest of us, waiting in the queue, camping out in front of microcenters, pre-ordering from ShopBLT, signing up for the newegg shuffle, and still trying to catch a 3080 on a best buy drop. What have I got to show for it? So far, an FE 3070 that I am extremely grateful for since I (prematurely) sold my beautiful 1080ti hybrid. Why don't I stop wasting so much time trying to get a 3080 when I already have the next best thing? Well, I just simply want a 3080, ok?? So here I am in the queues with everybody else. Also, Newegg doesn't force bundle buys anymore, and the CPUs at least were listed at MSRP, so kudos to newegg for that.

So amazing to see good movement on the 3080 hybrids! Even though I'm likely WAY out on that queue, that is honestly the card I REALLY REALLY want. If I score a different 3080 from another vendor or from this queue, I'm NOT cancelling that hybrid on the waitlist, and if I ever do get my turn, someone else will likely be able to get a very fair price on my 3080 that I won't want anymore.  And if by some miracle I get my turn at the hybrid BEFORE one of the other models, oh that would be sweet!!

Well said, my friend. We're all just here in the queue together toasting marshmallows and waiting for drops. Let's just keep the positivity flowing and EVENTUALLY things will get better. I'm still here holding out hope for the 3080 Ti dropping eventually so I can get in line for that and REALLY start searching hard. I've seen the rumors about the lowered CUDA core count and VRAM but I'm like, 1) I was never going to notice the difference in VRAM anyways (I don't do anything that intensive), 2) It's still the 3080 Ti, and 3) it'll help keep the price lower so I'm all for it. Nvidia, just announce that so EVGA can post the specs page and I can get in line!
