No this is not ''correct''. Tell that to the 2 people I know so far who were able to get a 3080 and 3090 on Newegg last week during a drop.
People who are doing that have better chances of getting a card than people sitting on their bottoms and bitc**ing about the current situation. Instead of actually trying to get one.
Hell even me, while I work, I have the 3080 page of Newegg up on my second screen that keeps auto-refreshing every 5 seconds for the past 3 weeks trying my luck too. While I am also in the queue for the EVGA one. Whichever happens first! Actually saw when the drops happened (but was unfortunately too slow both times).

Let's say 5% -8% of potential buyers have card, 2 month after "launch day"
So 90% wasting their time hanging out in front of the stores waiting for drop (dog poop size) or sitting in chairs revisiting retailer websites and f5-ing poor keyboards.
If you have a full time job, you would know what I am talking about. 
Sheep mentality accepts micro facts and title them as macro, which produce illusion based on wrong facts. 
 
Meanwhile scalper retailers announcing (fake) ETA volume - 432 cards in 3 days.

Not sure if it as been said recently or not but do we know how far along we are in the list at all? I have a set notification from release (9/17) and havent gotten an email. Not sure what kind of expectations I should have with it. Definitely not a big deal as I totally understand the situation. Was just curious.

Hi.  I am not sure for what card queue you signed up for, but I am reposting below the status for each North American queue as of Friday night (there is typically not movement over the weekend.  I hope this summary helps.  I try to circulate a summary of the North American queues each weekday night (I do not have visibility into the European queues). Well, we were bound to have some days like this. Given that it was Friday the 13th…meh…let’s not be too superstitious. 
 
Take the weekend...get outside…frolic...socially-distance, etc. etc.

I am not giving up on the card I want.  I want to do this once and then never do it again (until the 4000 series).  
 
The 3070 FTW3 Ultra queue has had at least one substantial drop (and it moved approximately 27 seconds into the queue); I have not seen any evidence that the 3070 XC3 Ultra card has received a drop to the queue.  Good luck in your hunt for your card!

You did sign up early.  Unfortunately, that queue just has not progressed as far as it should...it is still on the day before the card launched.  Crazy!

Jacob said that they sent some emails for it today. I am basically 30sec away from latest reported time and still nothing.

This week is going to change things.  AMD 6800XT drops on wednesday.  They have already claimed that they will destroy the 3080 launch numbers.  At some point, the saturation of top-end GPUs will overflow the market demand (scalper and enthusiast) and cards will be available.  I believe that they said the non-reference cards will drop 2 weeks later, so end of November or thereabouts.  Add in to that the constant ramp-up that we are seeing from NVIDIA.  
 
It has been a dark, dreary couple months, but I truly feel we will all have some color brought into our lives in the next few weeks... be-it red or green.

 
I don't know.  Apparently stock of AMD cards is just as low.  I just see scalpers picking off all the early cards and another long wait.
