$4000 in state of the art components sitting in my living room waiting for a kingpin hydrocopper; which inspired the chilled loop I designed the whole system around (water cooled motherboard and all)… all becoming more obsolete while my kids wait for this present I promised them for Christmas 2020. And all I’m asking for is a reasonable explanation of delays and a timetable so I can at least have some idea what to expect going forward. I’ve never tried so hard to spend $2500 on a computer part! :Facepalm:

That was my biggest fear that if I bought all the parts for my new rig, it might be the next Gen by the time I got a gpu. After hunting for 9 months, finally landed a 3080 ti ftw3.

Now the hunt begins for a 5950x..... sigh....

It never seems to end......

I installed (still never fired up) my 3950x hours before the 5950x was announced… I was slightly disappointed, to say the least!

Well guys my watch is over as I have ordered a 3060 12gb from a UK retailer, sadly its not EVGA but it was a head v's heart v's practicality and my aging 1070 8gb GPU.
I'll have it in a few days and I will remove my notifies then and I hope in doing so it will help others along.
I'll still be lurking here because of my High Sodium diet and I'd miss the banter anyway.

Happy Friday to all... great to see BYG's success story on the GPU front.  I am here to report out on another lucky win for a friend who has been in the same situation as most of you, lack of GPU.  I was able to secure him a 3070Ti yesterday from launch, and he is ecstatic.  Thanks to enewt for the direct notify links... sorry I can't use your code :(

Big thanks for swift reply. Its insane that while trying to que so fast, demand/supply is so missmatched that it takes so long. Was bit worried that ive messed something up :D

Im trying to think ahead, I am about 1 minute away from hitting my que for the EVGA 3080 FTW3 Hybrid GPU. Trying to figure out how I can add the cards radiator. The only space left is behind the front 200mm fans. Can I change the 2 front fans to exhaust and mount the rad behind them and set the GPU cooling fans to push out of the case as well? I would think I would also need to change the rear exhaust to a rear intake. My Corsair CPU cooler that is mounted to the top is also set as exhaust. Will that work or do I need a new case? Thanks all! Case is Cooler Master Mastercase H500M

I would still do intake on the front with push/pull for the gpu and then still exhaust at the rear. Otherwise you'll be trying to cool your gpu with warm case air and the gpu is the hardest component to keep cool. Looks like you already ahve a radiator on the cpu anyhow so it's not like that would be affected. I think your current setup is good, just add the hybrid to the front in push/pull.

If I was you, I would set the front fans to intake and leave the others as exhaust (like you have it pictured) . Either way, I think it's worth trying out the fronts as exhaust and seeing how temps and dust inside the case looks like. I always use a filtered location for intake.

I was wondering if that would work or if the hot air from the GPU pushing into the case would heat things up inside the case too much. My second thought was to relocate the cpu to the front push/pull into the case and mount the GPU on the top as exhaust

My buddy and I will be raising a glass of Woodford Reserve to the both of you as I pass off a GPU to him. Although it will be bittersweet as KTA's wait continues :/ One day, buddy, it's going to happen. It's always right as you're about to give up hope, so if you're feeling very dejected, maybe the universe will translate that into "next week" finally materializing. You can finally get back to playing Assetto Corsa! Your recs are pushing me to give it a try. I think my system should be able to handle MSFS pretty okay. 3080 (hopefully eventually 3080 Ti) with 9700k and 32 GB ram. It would be the first game I play that would actually push my system to its limits. Anyways, sorry for the long post, but you're in my thoughts KTA. I wish I could push the queue along and get you your card quicker - we all know you deserve it.
