Just face it, we are never going to get our cards. Unless we somehow get them elsewhere. I'm hoping to get on the 3080ti queue early enough. The 3897 sku is just not going to happened.
I'm starting to agree with you and my notify is on 9/22. Six months and nada. Get to about a day away and they full stop (that's how it seems) on these cards. Would be nice if EVGA reassured that everything was still going out the same, but you haven't seen Jacob on the forum for months. Oh well. No Cyberpunk or RTX for me.

drewski989Lots of queue cards are members of this thread, this thread almost exclusively uses enewts code, at least from what I have seen. I often wonder what percentage of the queue members post here... 10%? I would be shocked if it was more than 25%. 10%... I have 30 people for first 3 minutes here: 24G-P5-3989-KR Queue tracking, and around ~3200 notification subscription for this time. So, less than 1%.
Man you are unpleasant. I was simply making a general statement that, just because not many are using the poster's code, doesn't mean no one is getting cards. Edit: I've been on this thread since day 1, I only chose to put my name on 2 of the spreadsheet lists...

Congratulations, and thank you to both enewt for maintaining this and to everyone reporting back, despite any spiraling. I'm about five hours out on this SKU without a notification yet, if that helps any other watchers gauge how it's going. For me, it's both close enough that I'm ready to watch 2 weeks of nothing go by as I stand at the edge, but also feel performance anxiety about what I'll do when my notification arrives.

The 3080ti is probably the best bet for those waiting for a 3080. I'm hoping to get in the early notify of that too. Only a few months before my coupon expires. Failing to acquire a GPU, I'd spend it on a PSU, but all the high wattage ones are OOS, and I'm leery of any 1000w or lower PSU given the 3080/3090 transient spike problems.

Been using a 3080 with a Corsair Ax860i which is almost 8 years old now. I mean I'm not going to say with certainty but maybe those people are using crap PSU's. A friend of mine with a SF750 has also been using his 3080 with no issues either. Higher wattage is not always better, especially when you don't have need of it (AKA mining farm/dual systems/Crazy OCs)

You can increase your chances by joining stockdrops discord. Thanks to them I bought my buddy a 3897 from Amazon recently. I would have kept it but I'm painfully close to the 3898. I remember opening it thinking dam this thing is massive bigger than my strix 2080ti... Was... Rip pre 30 series presale...

yeah, I joined stockdrops, never got a notification from them. just utter crap. I unjoined. I'll try again though, EVGA has no urgency to get these cards out, unless your name is Linus.

I have heard of successes and failures with 750W & 850W from various brands. From what I can tell it depends on how the PSU handles the transients. Many of the Seasonic units have been reported to have issues due to the protections being very sensitive. It seems that units over 1000W don't really have issues as the transients don't spike high enough to bother them. Regardless, I will need a PSU upgrade if I get a more powerful GPU as I'm running lots of RGB and high-wattage fans in addition to needing 2 GPUs to run my displays.

Finally got my 3090 last week. I signed up on the notify list on 12/11/20 and got the invite to buy a 3988 on 4/15/21. I received it last Tuesday, 4/20/21, but didn't get to install it until Saturday, 4/24/21. Took me all day as I had to rebuild the inside of my case, moving the power supply from the top of the case, down to the bottom, leaving room on the top for the radiator and fans. I would have had it a lot easier if one of the other notifies that I had listed for a 3090 with just air cooling had come through. Although, feeling how much heat comes off the radiator when the card is under a heavy load leaves me wondering if the air-cooled cards would have been bumping up against the temp limit even though my case has good airflow! The size of the actual card, not including the radiator was also a little surprise. I had been expecting a much larger card. The card, the 3988, is only a little longer than the GTX 1080ti's I had in there, but otherwise about the same size. The weight was also less than I had expected. Probably due to the water cooling the the card weighing less than the large heatsink on the air-cooled cards. Anyway, it seems to be working well. Performance is greater than the SLI GTX 1080ti's that were in there, but not a huge change. It's obvious though, that video performance is smoother. I just hope I can get enough for my old cards to pay off a big chunk of the 3090.

Considering you have two 1080 Ti cards, you may even end up making a modest profit comrade.

comrade Finally got my 3090 last week.
It should, 1080 Tis are easily 600-700 right now depending where you sell them at. They should pay for a huge chunk of your purchase.

Nereus So.. are any cards actually shipping out from EVGA these days, or just a trickle every now and then? My associate code rarely gets used if that's any indication.
theres many associate codes.. not just yours to be used
Lots of queue cards are members of this thread, this thread almost exclusively uses enewts code, at least from what I have seen. I often wonder what percentage of the queue members post here... 10%? I would be shocked if it was more than 25%. What is a better place to get your associate code out there? I have mine on a discord I moderate, all of my code uses have come from members there.
I would guess that less than 0.01% of people in the queue are on the forum.
its always the vocal minority that are the loudest.. should just ignore all the entitled salt on this thread.. they dont realize that there are tens of thousands ahead of them in the queue.. they think their queue matters above all else.. hence salt on contractual commitment and marketing promo ala linus sales etc...
it matters to me, the person at the spot in the line, so if that's entitlement that I'd like to get my card after 6 months, then yeah, call me entitled
well the thousands ahead that are still of you are not that important? im way ahead of u n im not throwing a tantrum along with the silent majority that dont view this forum while on the queue.. 10G-P5-3897-KR 9/21/2020 12:00:01 PM PT No
no they aren't important, why would they be? will I get the card when their spot comes up? sorry to break it to you but people are allowed to be frustrated with this situation

It is frustrating. There is a perfectly good reason why we are all waiting though. Consumer GPU's are not a priority at the moment, nor should they be. The auto industry, for example, is much more important globally than some gamer getting to take advantage of the latest RT tech. This will all get ironed out eventually. We are still in the midst of a major global disruption, so the fact that the queues move at all is something to be celebrate. At least EVGA is getting some chips.
