Is the 3080 Ti all but confirmed? Been arguing with friends who don't believe that it is coming.

My wait ends today. Step up 3090 FTW Ultra arrives tonight. I started this journey last July when my motherboard and 780Ti got fried. Decided to wait for the 3080 to come out before doing a build, expecting it would be easy to get and relatively inexpensive to build a good gaming computer.

I'm right there with you. I'm less than 30 minutes on the 3667 and it has not moved in a month.

Definitely real, I'd expect it to be announced next month. Too many leaks from too many places for it to be fake

Yeah I hope so. Looking to build a second rig in an S4 Mini. I've a 5600x and B550 Aorus ITX on standby, and will probably transfer my 3070 FTW3 there and if I'm lucky, get the 3080 Ti for my main build (Ncase M1, 5950x, x570 Aorus ITX).

Wow, today's Shuffle actually looks really good. Tons of variety and options other than stupid overpriced monitors. I guess there's a few monitors on there, but it looks way better than yesterday's shuffle of poo.

Christmas is coming in 7 months, that garbage PSU sounds like the perfect white elephant gift. Or you could use it as a doorstop.

More of a half joke as I don't think most people will cause it to catch fire. GP-P750GM is the model tho. Looks to be a poorly built model with many DOAs on retailer reviews and bad reviews from other sources.

I recently was monitor shopping and it was a really difficult choice all these really good panels each lacked in an area that I was not happy with. I ended up going G7. I was shopping a large batch of 2k screens. If they made a flat g7 with gsync module I'd have been super happy. The viewsonic elite fell flat in some areas still really good. Dells 2k is nice. The alienware which is like 800 has some issues so I passed in it. LGs gn850 is a nice panel but was missing some of what I wanted. The msi quantum dot and many others are over saturation machines with no srgb clamp so that is a shame. I took the easy way out covered my eyes and took the g7 way out. I'm not disappointed though it's really nice too look at 240hz is nice too! I don't plan one going 4k but if I did idk what I would buy maybe I'll replace my 2nd 1080p display with 4k eventually. I am picky I guess. I'm dreaming of micro led screens to eventually come. Oled has burn in issues and can only be found in laptops and tvs.

RasTeX Does anyone have production numbers for rtx 3000 series? Are they significantly larger than previous 2000 or roughly the same? My short investigation was not very succsessfull...
Yes, but Nvidia (as always) does not release any exact numbers, and none of their AIBs are allowed to either.
They have publicly claimed that production is at least 20% greater than that of the 2000 series, and that the production is not lacking. The demand is simply much greater than anticipated. The capacity and demand on current fabs does support Nvidia's claim. GPUs are shipping in high numbers to retailers, but they simply can't catch up to this unprecedented demand. There is no one "demon" to blame for this disaster, but all factors have combined to make the situation what it is: scalping, mining, covid related delays, and covid putting people at home in front of computers for work and play in RECORD NUMBERS.
It doesn't help that AMD has not really wanted to compete. Their manufacturing has been entirely focused on quick and easy profits of gigantic numbers of console sales and kicking Intel's butt at CPU sales. Retailers are finally starting to see significant numbers of 6000 series Radeons show up, but up until recently the launch was very nearly entirely paper. The side effect of AMD not caring about GPUs is that Nvidia is free to delay any new GPU product launches, such as "Ti" models.
Right. I would not be surprised to see GPU mining farms next to GPU factories. Regardless of perfect storm for AMD and NVIDIA, seems to me that they didn't react in a way that suits them and is good for customers. I guess that chip production is negotiated quite ahead, but I fail to see why is it so hard to push the numbers up. This situation really shows how we need one or two major players in GPU arena. My hopes are that INTEL will finally wake up an kick this duopole out of their sleep.
You realize they can’t magically up their production at a whims notice. You whiners need to understand that the manufacturing capability is currently maxed out. There aren’t enough fab allocation to produce more chips. Why are automaker halting n closing plants temporarily? Cuz they got no chips to make cars with. Stop whining about sitting on a queue for months. There are people still waiting from day 1 -week 1 of launch n they’re not complaining. There are hundreds of thousands of people ahead of you In The queue
You sound like a personal assistant of AMD or NVIDIA CEO. They had more than enough time to up their production and increase poor yield, it would be beneficiary for everybody. Crisis handling of GPU makers was more than poor. And who cares for auto industry, nobody asked them to put supercomputers in cars, my car runs just fine with 90's electronic... Anyway, man, you sound like you have been brainwashed by AMD or NVIDIA marketing department...
Part of the issue is the extreme complexity of semiconductors. When individual transistors are smaller than the wavelength of light we get from firing high-powered lasers at flying pieces of pure liquid tin and then have to bounce off multiple moving mirrors it's a miracle anything works at all. Also for reference these the yield rates are greater than 98% otherwise it would not be financially viable to enter mass production. Now while I don't think NVIDIA is using EUV this snippet from Wikipedia should give some inside into the complexity of semiconductor engineering: While EUV technology is available for mass production, 53 machines worldwide capable of producing wafers using the technique were delivered during 2018 and 2019, while 201 immersion lithography systems were delivered during the same period. Issues that make EUV adoption difficult are tool costs (ASML's EUV scanners can cost up to US$120 Million), tool uptime, and stochastic phenomena. As of 2020, Samsung and TSMC are the only companies that have used EUV in production, mainly targeting 5nm.
The GPU production technology looks like total SF. Also seems like that this tech step forward does not come without frequent falls, due to the physical limits of technology. One has to ask himself, would it be better to produce larger number in older tech, but I guess no progress without occasional pain....

Since I am not allowed to use the word that is similar to "QuesoTuesday" for fear that it will lead us into a dry deserted desert, how about Titanic Tuesday? Let's all get soaked in drops today.... In that spirit, you have a few choices for your mantra today (that you should repeat every hour on the hour (until at least 1 pm PT))...in no particular order: 1. "I'll never let go, @EVGA_JacobF. I'll never let go." 2. "I figure the queue's a gift and I don't intend on wasting it." 3. "@EVGA_JacobF, I want you to draw me like one of your French girls." 4. "Everybody called it the queue of dreams, and it was. It really was." 5. "Promise me you'll survive. That you won't give up, no matter what happens. No matter how hopeless. Promise me now." 6. "I know this is crazy. It doesn't make any sense. That's why I trust it." 7. Specifically for certain salty members of our community: "I don't know about you, but I intend to write a strongly worded letter to EVGA about all of this." 8. For your spouse, significant other or dependent to say to you (for extra-positive karma): "I know you say I am crazy, but with all due respect, I'm not the one hanging off the back of a queue here." 9. "It's been 84 years, and I can still smell the fresh unboxing smell. The fans have never been used. The ports have never been plugged in." 10. "Now you know there was a queue named Auto-Notify and that it saved me in every way that a gamer can be saved. I don't have a picture of it. It exists now only in my memory." If ya'll really want to go crazy, go down the list each half hour.... For me, I am going to repeat this: "Don't say your goodbyes. Don't you give up. Don't do it. You're going to get out of this...you're going to go on and you're going to play games and win, and you're going to die a warn out gamer, warm in front of your well-ventilated and dust-free rig. Not here. Not in this queue. Do you understand me? Listen to me...clicking that auto-notify button was the best thing that ever happened to me in 2020 and 2021. It brought me to you. And I am thankful. I'm so thankful. You must promise me you will continue your watch...that you will never give up...no matter what price hikes happen...no matter how hopeless...promise me now, and never let go of that promise." Have a Titanic Tuesday. Best of luck!
