Hey Jacob,

Can we get more info as to when to expect the 1500w version? (or at least a decent review from, say, Hard OCP?)

Thanks in advance:)

March/April timeframe.

Thanks a lot for the intel Jacob :)
Can we expect reviews a bit earlier, like early March?

That would be for EVGA to decide based upon different factors. Jonny Guru has already said he wants to review it.

are we 100% sure that the power usage on the new keplers will be lower then the gtx480's though?
We are not 100% sure, but the trend of past high-end debuts has been steady: GTX580 at 244W, GTX480 at 250W, GTX280 at 236W.

Comparing the power and specs of GTX280 with GTX285 at 204W, we see the only change was shrinking the die from 65nm to 55nm and reduced power draw by 32W.  This means the GPU die on the GTX280 accounted for about half the total draw, the rest was Vram and other circuitry.  The biggest deals of Kepler is the shrink to 28nm, the rest will be similar with higher density Vram chips.  I don't see the power draw on the "GTX680" being more than 260W for reference models, but lower will depend on the model.

For Intel processors, 0.122 x TDP = Continuous Amps at 12v [source].

Is that some kind of an handle on the 1500w model?

What looks like a handle, may be a spacer to keep you from backing up the computer too close to the wall so it will have good air flow.

Aside from the fact that the plug for that power supply wont allow that to happen either?

More than anything I'd like to see a design with 2 AC inputs to split the load across 2 circuits without having to go to 2 separate PSU

??? its call a 220v line, you can actually wire your PSU to take 220v's, which would only draw half the amps of a 110v line
and for the cost of running two circits why not just a 30amp NEMA-30 twist lock (10-2 w/ ground)

:) Got to love the NEMA Twist locks :) I think they make life super simple!

Rig specs coming soon...

I'm a bit disapointed since I was sure the PSU would be announced simultaneously with the SR-X...
Well, I have ALL the required bits and pieces for my new rig (3x keplers on the 23rd ;)) but the PSU...Come on eVGA :D

Sweet lord, 124A in "normal" mode? I see many circuit breakers being popped in the near future. Seriously, this thing has enough features to make me consider retiring my trusty old Silverstone PSU. Configurable rails are awesome! Now just let me power it on for my pumps without jamming a paper clip in the 24-pin, lol...

FTW!   Now who came up with that idea...hmm, I wonder

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

I get the feeling these psu's are going to be quite expensive. which is a shame because i would love to get one around the 1000 watt range but i cant afford more than $250 for a psu and i feel like it will be more than that due to the added features.

If these PSUs will be "software controlled", it's a long shot but I hope they use an open standard like ESA.  And no, it's not an Nvidia-required thing.  It's an open USB-IF standard, including PSU inputs for AMPs, volts, and heatsink temps to be read.  if you have any mechanical operations (switches, relays), you can control those through the ESA spec as well.  Using an open standard allows anyone to write software to monitor it for ingames, or like me, for CUDA development where I'd like to monitor everything in the system.  The last PSU I used with ESA specs was my trusty PC Power & Cooling 1200W - and it was very cool to see 1280 Watts draw when fully loaded!

If EVGA is listening, I have the ESA specs documentation...  Give me a shout!

Yeah, I would imagine with all the features that this thing will come in around 425 bucks or so.  That's my guess.  If I really can power on the pumps only with this thing, I will get one as soon as they are released.  What a great option.
