Its call having an apartment where you can't just up and rewire the electrical system. Even at my office, due to union contracts putting in a 220 line is at least 10k. Plus its virtually impossible to find a BBU that will support 1500w unless you get into industrial grade stuff that is $1K+

i REALLY want to know who the OEM is for this unit, i want to see a extensive jonnyguru type load testing, and testing of all the new features, and i REALLY want to see the inside layout. especially what internals are used and the layout of the pcb/components. i would think the handle might be a two fold use too, besides the open benching remark it may be there as a bump guard for any extra switches that may be on the back when installed. thats the only other use i could think of.

so question... is there a general timeline for the PSUs? reason I ask is my mATX build is going to be put together next week, and I am almost sure my antec 1200quattro is going to give me a headache with fitment due to the HUGE capacitor thingies at the end of the cabling which will probably make it almost impossible to do proper cable management. So originally I was planning on possibly switching to a corsair ax1200, but if this is coming lets say in the next month or so, then I would hold out and see whats going on. so if there is a general timeline will be much appreciated~!

^^ Great looking PSU, except the metal bar of course. The one thing I want every PSU to have in the future for those that owned watercooling rigs, is a separate 4 pin switch where you can turn on the water pump and run a leak test instead of the paper clip MOD....hint, hint EVGA...hint, hint!
T hose who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way. Affiliate Code: 3T15O1S07G

Actually I am running a Cyberpower Battery back up that rated for 1650w it cost about $575.00, howevere it required me to run a dedicated 20amp 110v line from my breaker panel, and that does suck your in an apartment(you never stated that befor). ANd like someone else said you would be creating a hazard running extension cords to another room to tap into a seperate circut, if there even is one you could use pending how the apartment is wired.

So EVGA if this 1500w unit turns out to be awsome could we see a unit ABOVE 1500w??? I know the market would fall pretty much off but having a 1600w+ unit would be nice even though you would need a 20amp 110v service

Even an SR-2 with SLI or triple SLI has enough with 1500 watts and I can't think of anything more extreme

You guys are right, it does resemble an Enermax item. I sure wish someone from EVGA might be able to tell us who is making this unit for them. I love the looks and utilities, but will await a jonnyguru testing to ensure this thing is as good as it seems to be.

seronx 124+ A on 12V GAAHH~~~~ EVGA you're cheapin out you have to go for platinum!!! No unit will hit platinum at 1500W in the foreseeable future. 80Plus isn't the top 4 most important things people should be looking for in a PSU anyway.....it's way over-marketed. People see Gold or Platinum and automatically think it's better than a PSU that is Silver when that's not always the case. Sometimes PSU companies throw the baby out with the bathwater just to push a platform to a higher 80Plus rating...sacrificing performance, and increasing the cost of the PSU because of the marketing gimmick. Efficiency is important, but not at the detriment of performance.

+1 on wanted to know how these perform since theres no re-branding going on at all. So according to that video the 1500w can actually run up to 1650w in OC mode , THAT IS A TON OF POWER So the question remains who thinks this PSU will be at least $450????
