Ok so with the new compatible memory installed and configured in Bios. I did a fresh crank up this morning. it went again to code 04 after boot. I let it set for a good two minutes then decided to just restart. ( everything seems to work as normal when booted, showing code 04) the only think i am sure about, it will end up rebooting after time while in 04. it so far always reboots in A0 and runs fine from then on.

Any other suggestions ?

This guy did a couple of things. Disabled fast boot and cleared the cmos. http://www.tomshardware.c...igabyte-z77x-ud3h.html

Thanks Delirious,
I went ahead and changed those settings in windows, and cleared the cmos. hopefully that does the trick. everytime I crank up and see that 04 it gives me a weird little feeling in my stomach.
first crank so far after and straight to A0. ill continue to monitor over the next few days and report any findings.

the z77 had a finicky boot sequence.  I never did like like it.  I know it cycles through codes as it does a system check and I believe it settles on A0 when all is checked out.

and when you do searches for the z77, the codes are probably the same among most of the suppliers.   There are bios tweaks that individual companies make but the bios is based upon a hardware structure

I just want to really thank everyone for all your help. after several days of testing, my rig has been cranking right up on A0 each time with no problems.
